The pepperoni pizza and the vegetable pizza was just good. Fresh ingredients, crunchy crust and cooked to perfection. Now here is the thing about Pan que Pan. For breakfast if you want the bake goods I would strongly suggest to get there at 8am when the place opens because the bake goods sell out fast. They also serve hot foods for breakfast like eggs, bacon and etc . We haven't tried their breakfast yet. The bake goods and pizza was what we went for and was worth the wait. I had high hopes, but ... nope. Food was well-conceived (as described in menu) but eggs were dry as chalk. And service was so very odd. Asked 3x over 15-20 minutes for a coffee refill. Finally went to get it myself from the counter outside the kitchen. Lots of flies. Sidewalk out front literally coated with feces (I hope from street dogs). My husband and I were traveling with our in laws and were lucky enough to experience a wonderful lunch from Pan Que Pan! We were taken on a quad excursion and lunch was provided by our guide, Gabriel. Gabriel provided delicious sandwiches prepared by Pan Que Pan that were so amazingly delicious, they were out of this world! The bread was so fresh and tasty, all of the ingredients on the sandwich were fresh and had great flavor. It was quite a treat and I can't wait to return to Loreto and try some of the other tasty offerings from Pan Que Pan!!!! read more

We discovered this place thanks to Kiki, the Capitan that took us to a snorkeling trip. He had purchased the tastiest sandwiches we had for a long time from Pan Que Pan for our lunch. I wish we found out about this place earlier. We made sure to stop by on the way to the airport and I am so glad we did! It was a quiet morning on a weekend and there was only one other table occupied. I read that it can get busy at times. They made everything from scratch and it tasted delicious! Both husband-wife team were so friendly and welcoming , I wish we had more time to stay. Their two beautiful daughters were there too, playing in the patio. It was just delightful. Found them after they closed on day one but came back and it was worth the wait. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming and everyone working was friendly and tolerant of my miserable Spanish, even though they spoke excellent English. I went there to buy boletos and have some fresh-squeezed orange juice but, having virtuously ridden a bike all over downtown, decided to have a bit of desayuno. Ordered the English muffin breakfast sandwich and they accomodated me by swapping out the American cheese for queso fresco (found out there is no single word for "runny" yolk in Spanish). The sandwich came with thin-sliced beautifully ripe apple and a smoky, spicy salsa, both of which lifted it a bit above the ordinary. The boletos were delicious, as were the dinner rolls recommended by another patron. Warning: I was there at 10:30 AM on a Saturday and they were out of almost all baked goods except boletos, a few dinner rolls and some pineapple muffins. Granted, it was the Saturday of Semana Santa and they weren't going to reopen until Wednesday, but it seems prudent to not dawdle if you want the best selection. I am only allowing four stars at this point because it was only one visit. I'll have to return con mi esposo and give them a second trial, oh, shucks. read more

Great breakfast and lunch. We had omelets and French Toast one morning and returned to pick up lunch another. It was all great. I got the caprese salad with a side of garlic shrimp, my husband got the ham sandwich. He also had a yummy berry milkshake. Carla and her husband Eddie are warm friendly people you can tell take pride in their family bakery and restaurant. I've bookmarked it for a visit when we return to Loreto. What a nice small bakery! Went there for a very nice breakfast and could not resist returning. The backyard sitting is just nice (loved the seating in the back of an old VW). I cannot believe this place has not had even one review! But, it is a few blocks away from the main square and is just the tiniest of places. It really has no storefront directly on the street but a turquoise blue wrought iron gate that brings you in and up a few steps and then there is a door into their little bakery shop. If their little menu stand is out front and the gate in the fence is open, they are open. (Closed on Mondays, I think). PLEASE! Go up the steps and then go past the bakery shop door to the left around to the back to a small little courtyard and covered patio with 8 or so tables. This is a small, young family run place that serves only breakfast and lunch and their baked goods. We had two breakfasts here and one lunch and they all were all great. We did the artisinal bread basket, fruit plate with yogurt and various omelettes for the breakfasts and all were great. Oh, and the OJ is freshed squeezed and nummers too! While they call it a bread basket it is really sweet rolls and muffins-- and lots if just two people are eating. These were a delightful surprise in that dough was just mildly sweet and nothing had heavy filling or gloppy icing. Really a light, fluffy, tasty delight all around. The one lunch we went for was after some folks we had met tried to take us here for dinner as they raved about the pizza and sangria, but we found them closed. As they are not open for dinner, we got to try the pizza and sangria (house made from scratch as its ordered) for lunch later and it was fantastic-- pizza is thin crust, fresh ingredients and they offer add on condiments one of olive oil with parsley and other herbs and one with red pepper flakes and other picante spices. It would have been difficult to choose just a single set of toppings but thankfully they have a pizza they call the In Decisivo where you can try any four of their topping combos. We did Mexican, Pepperoni, Veggie and Margherita. That gave my wife and I each a nice big slice (in the large size pizza anyway) of each type. Even if you think you don't want to be adding the olive oil mix to pizza, just try it, it is really good. If you like spice the red pepper/picante powder mix is great too. In closing I would add that these folks seem like such a nice family. Our first breakfast was over a weekend and their two daughters were at a table quietly playing, cute as buttons. If you like good food, supporting nice family operations and can find your way, they speak very good english and work very hard to make things fresh and oh so wonderfully tasty. read more
