Went there to after I had made a mammogram and a biopsy in my R. Breast that my primary doctor ordered. Busy Office were a total mess. After I saw Dr. Manolas I felt that I would never trust this doctor and his office. Doctor said to me that he needs to sent my exist exams to MSK for review and another opinion. His secretary and the doctor supposed to call me after a few days but this never happened, I felt very disappointed ! Thank God my friend advise me to go to MSK. What a difference ! I felt the real professionalism from the minute I talk on the phone and up to this time that they prepared me for Surgury ! If it wasn't for my friend recondition to visit memorial cancer hospital in Manhattan I would probably end up having cancer spread all over my body! I was referred to Dr. Manolos by my PCP. He was very attentive, kind and patient. He is considered an eminence in his field so I knew I was in good hands! The only downside is that his office is very, very,very busy! I had to wait 5 hours to see him back in March 2021. But it's because Dr. Manolas is a great doctor. My aunts daughter also saw Dr. Manolas when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and she thought he was great. Very charming and personable man, and very good at what he does (surgery). But he and his office are absolutely terrible with time management. I have never been seen anywhere close to on time. If you schedule an appointment for a 5-10 minute appointment, make sure to block out at least 3 hours, because you will be left in the waiting room for most of that time. read more

This office is disorganized and unprofessional. I had a biopsy scheduled. I called a few hours in advance to see if I would be ok to drive after or if they suggest a cab. They asked my name and confirmed the type of biopsy I was scheduled to have, then suggested a cab might be more comfortable. I pay $34 for my cab there and arrived about 30 minutes early. After signing in, they tell me Dr Manolas had an emergency and didn't come in today. Why didn't they call me?? Why didn't they tell me when I called them a couple hours earlier?? I was offered to reschedule in Bayside or Manhattan. So does this doctor not come to Astoria?? Bizarre... Then I paid $36 to get back home in a cab. Wasted $70 on cab money for no reason and I was already anxious and nervous about the appointment to begin with.... read more

My wife presented at an emergency room with upper stomach pain, fever, and lethargy. Dr Manolas and the team at Lennox Hill assessed her with care, plenty of information, and the perfect combination of aggression and patience. Dr Manolas was extremely thorough, performed a Cholecystectomy and brought in a GI surgeon to immediately follow his lead, and perform a bile duct clean-up with another scope. My wife is working through recovery and is feeling much better. Dr. Manolas' affect and approach with my wife, as a patient, was kind, full of both seriousness and humor, and was very open with the quantitative data he was evaluating, and the potential approaches to the problem. He kept me in the loop before, during, and after the surgery - and kept us calm in the face of ambiguity. I cannot overstate how professional and personally outstanding he was (as was the team of Anesthesiologists and Nurses). Amazing work. I have been coming to Dr. Manolas since I am 12 year's old (I am now 28). I have gone to him for many cysts and etc. I recently was there again because, surprise, i got another cyst! I am a very nervous person when it comes to medical procedures of any kind but Dr. Manolas makes me feel so safe and comfortable. He is literally the ONLY surgeon I will ever go to. Do I wait 3 hours, maybe close to 4 and a half hours when I come to his office? YES! Does it drive me insane? Hell YES! But, truth of the matter is, he is worth it in the end. He tries his hardest to not leave me with any scars, he is gentle, caring, funny, comforting and he knows his stuff. There is a reason his office is so packed and it's because 1-he is a god when it comes to his field and 2-he tries to see everyone in need when he is in the office because the remainder of his time is spent in hospitals actually performing surgeries. I flip out every time i sit there and wait long long hours after working all day long and not having dinner and then i get home at 10pm but bottom line he is worth it. I am scheduled for another surgery on my breast at the end of this month and as nervous as I am (because no one likes to get surgery) I feel at peace that I am in good hands. So for the people who complained about not going back because of the long wait, go get a botched job from another doctor who does not know their stuff and give us people who are loyal patients less wait time by not coming. Ps- God Bless Dr. Manolas for putting up with my screaming and crying for all these year's yet still hugging me and smiling and calling me strong even though he see's my chart and is scared to walk in to the room hahha - I love you Dr!!! I was told by this office that I was unable to make an appointment without a computer generated referral. I was able to get this from my PCP which took a while but got all the information I needed, including the tax ID # for Manolas, which Manolas' office gave me along with the fax number to send it to. My PCP confirmed they sent it and I then confirmed with Manolas' office that they got it, not once but twice! They said they received it and had all my info so could now make the appointment. I waited several weeks for the appointment and went in yesterday. What I experienced was a completely disorganized, unprofessional, backed up office. I had signed in and waited a while then had to go and ask if there was any additional paperwork I needed to fill out as a new patient. They then took my cards and an entire hour of waiting later they told me they never got the referral and said they had no information for it. At this point I was fuming because I had spoken several times to someone from their office who had confirmed they received it and would not have been able to make the appointment if they hadn't. I then emailed my copy to the front desk assistant. They then realized that the tax ID number that was entered was incorrectly. She then called my PCP to try to have them correct it but I am pretty sure she did not say that I was there waiting and had an appointment and that it was time sensitive. After another 40 minutes of waiting the front desk told me they didn't receive anything and couldn't get in touch with my PCP to check the status. They would not accept the referral I had because of their error and mishap with entering it into the system weeks prior. I wasted hours of my time just trying to get this appointment and getting everything they said they needed just to sit in this chaotic office for 2 hours and not be seen. All the while patients were complaining about their wait and wondering when they'd be called. Also during this time someone came in without an appointment to see the doctor and received special treatment and was brought in ahead of everyone else waiting. If I were you I would run the other way. They were extremely unpleasant, unfriendly, and accusatory to all patients waiting, and this entire experience was a headache from beginning to end and I was never even seen. I will absolutely not be going back and will be finding other care. read more

Of course the most important thing to consider is a doctor's medical skill and I am pleased to say that I have had two complicated surgeries performed by Dr. Manolas and both were completed perfectly. His office is efficient and all the paperwork is submitted seamlessly, the staff is kind and professional. Also, he is, hands down, the most caring and considerate of physicians. Dr. Manolas was gentle, caring and thorough in both my physical examination and the test he ordered for me at Lenox Hill Hospital. He treats me and my SO like a family member and I am so grateful to him for his incredibly warm bedside manner and thoroughness. This is literally the absolute, without question most HORRIFIC doctors office I have ever experienced in the entirety of my life. I came here for a consultation with Dr. Manolas for breast reduction surgery. When I arrived for my appointment there were (and this is not an exaggeration) at least 15 other patients waiting to see Dr. Manolas including an elderly woman that I know who had been waiting to see the doctor for FOUR HOURS. Mind you, this is office is in Queens, NY DURING THE COVID PANDEMIC. The waiting room was packed to the point where sick people were standing and sitting on the floor. After I had waited to see Dr. Manolas for an hour the front desk who was extremely disrespectful and rude offered to let me see the other surgeon. I complied so that I wouldn't have to wait the whole day seeing that Dr. Manolas had clearly had his hands beyond full. Anyways I get into the examination room and examined twice by two different medical staff just for the plastic surgeon to tell me they don't do the surgery. On top of all of this Dr. Manolas made a disgusting comment about my appearance to the nurse. The doctor I was forced to see, Dr. Webman, then referred me to a different surgeon who she claimed was in network but wasn't. When I asked her for a referral letter and she said she would fax it. She never did. I had to call every day for two weeks to try and speak with her and the rude front desk reps kept telling me she would call back- which she never did. I eventually had to physically go back into the office and demand my medical records and referal letter. DO NOT TRUST ANY OF THE DOCTORS IN THIS MEDICAL FACILITY THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL, UNORGANIZED AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE WELL BEING OF THEIR PATIENTS WHATSOEVER!!!! Dr. Manolas is one of the most compassionate DR's I have ever had. He provided "above and beyond" care for me when I had serious complications resulting from breast feeding. He saw me the same day when he was already very busy and somehow (I don't know how) fit me into his schedule. He saw me whenever he could and always managed to fit me in to make sure I was OK. He also kept in regular touch with me via text and email. This meant during holidays and even an international vacation!! I have never had such an experience with a DR before. I felt completely secure and taken care of during one of the scariest times of my life. I can't say enough good things about him. I would refer him to anyone in a heart beat if they had any breast related injuries. read more
