I literally had 2 min left on my online lecture and was in the process of leaving. I dont know how Michael Harris got a job working in a public library or with the county addressing people this way or making personal threats. I have a photo of the time I pulled out of the parking lot at 4:50pm Not like I kept these folks from closing up early. Disgusting experience. Will see that the following list below will get a copy of this incident involving Michael Harris. This is the South and they love their Confederate War history here. The marker is in great shape and from here, there is a great view of the water. Near this site on March 20, 1863, Confederate soldiers commanded by Captain Walter J. Robinson repelled a landing by Union sailors led by Acting Master James Folger of the blockading vessel U.S.S. Roebuck. The 11-man scouting party of Union sailors was seeking to locate a southern civilian vessel near the "Old Town" spring, when they were reportedly ordered to surrender by Captain Robinson. During the ensuing skirmish, several Union sailors were killed and wounded as they fled to their launch boat. Quarter, or safe passage, was requested by the remaining Union sailors to retrieve their dead and wounded. Total Union casualties were six dead and three wounded. Union sailors buried four of the deceased on nearby Hurricane Island, and a fifth sailor was interred by the Confederate soldiers. No casualties were recorded by the Confederate unit, which later became Company A of the 11th Florida Infantry Regiment. After the conclusion of the Civil War, the remains of the Union sailors were removed to the national cemetery at Fort Barrancas.

My wife and I joined friends for a day of visiting the shops, good food, the beach, and the…read moreambiance of 30A while we passed through Seaside, Florida. We even stopped by The Truman House nearby. As a huge fan of bookstores, when we passed by Sundog Books in the evening as our last stop before heading back to our hotel, I was impressed by a well organized and large (and fun) bookstore with so much to see. We didn't roam the second floor as we arrived shortly before closing but there is a record store on the upper floor. We did see apparel and gear for sell including sweatshirts, t-shirts, hoodies, tank tops, hats, mugs, bandanas, and tote bags. In scanning the various sections of the store, I quickly found some of my favorite fiction, historical fiction, and young adult fiction sections along with non-fiction favorites. I also found some new ideas of what I could read next, which I promptly added to my Goodreads account. I also enjoyed roaming the fun gift items, which were very creative but perfect for book loving visitors like me. Established more than 40 years ago by Bob and Linda White, the logo features their former dog Patty. The store was founded on individuality and a respect for independence though nowadays continues to focus on community. Check out their website at https://sundogbooks.com for online shopping, upcoming events, the Bookstore Buzz, and to learn about them. They give out their own Seaside Prize each year to a worthy author or authors. They also have multiple book signings in a typical week (listed on their event calendar). They are open from 9 AM to 8 PM year-round. While I love music and regret not seeing the second floor of records, I was very happy I made it to the store while it was still open. Now, if only I had enough room in my luggage for a number of books to buy while I passed through. Rather, I'll have to settle for online ordering from Sundog Books, which has some rather reasonable prices for a bookstore. I certainly recommend that visitors visit the bookstore and record shop!
