Pancheros overall is good but nothing super special to write home about. Used to go to them plenty before they got really expensive and had switched to Moe's. The burritos here overall are filling and usually big so they're filling by themselves. The chicken, steak, and veggies are all really good at Pancheros. I've been going to Pancheros for about 15 years and have never had a bad experience at any location until this one. The first visit was awful, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt and didn't leave a review. Almost a year later, I returned, and every single issue was exactly the same. Both times, the same woman was working alone, and I assume she is the manager or owner. She is easily the nastiest and cheapest person I've ever encountered in food service. The portion sizes are absurdly small. She does not even fill the scooper. When you ask for a reasonable amount, she tries to upcharge for basics like rice, beans, and shredded cheese, which I have never been charged extra for at any other Pancheros location. The queso, which is already an upcharge and is arguably the best thing Pancheros offers, is barely ladled out. On top of the tiny portions, the food itself is bland and flavorless. It tastes nothing like Pancheros at any other location. She must be cutting corners on spices or ingredients because it is simply not good. She also keeps napkins behind the counter, and you have to ask for them. Even then, she only gives you two. The soda machine is missing several options that every other Pancheros location has. This woman is a terrible manager or owner, and this location is a disgrace. It makes the entire Pancheros brand look bad, and she should not be allowed to run this restaurant. read more

If I could give this establishment 0 stars I would. The owner/manager is rude, aggressive and does not understand he is in a customer focused business. I have ordered from this location for years but will never be a patron again. Ordered through a delivery service, first person delivered to the wrong house, order cancelled. Place order again, second driver confirms and then cancels. Third drive goes to pick it up and they tell him they won't give it to him. I call the store to find out what's going on and he is immediately rude telling me to call uber. If I paid for the order again , why are you not able to provide it to the driver? If you made the order the second time why could it not be handed to the new driver? Raising his voice telling me to call Uber. YOU ARE THE ONE REFUSING TO MAKE/HAND OFF FOOD, the driver was literally asking for it. Who blames a customer for a delivery services issue and then refuses to provide paid for food? Placed a catering order with Mike for a party for my daughter's birthday. He was so helpful as I put together the menu. Ended up ordering the Burrito Bowls with extras. Food was fabulous! Everyone raved about how delicious it was, a real crowd pleaser. Had leftovers too. Mike was easy to work with and throw in a few extras to help celebrate the occasion. We went here thinking this place was a Mexican sit down restaurant. Had I read the reviews, I would have realized that it was more of a fast food Chipotleesque type of establishment. Nonetheless, the food was good and the price very economical. I wouldn't say it's as good as Chipotle, but edible just the same. The best part about Panchero's is the fresh pressed tortillas for each and every order. They are lite, thin and delicious. Even Chipotle doesn't hold a candle to the tortillas offered at Pancheros. Outside of the tortilla, the meat and fillings were just ok. Nothing above your average fast food type of Mexican fare. We received blue tortilla chips and salsa with our check-in. We were not a fan of the chips. They were super salty and a bit on the stale side. read more

Went here once this past winter on a trip, I was hungry and tired so finally stopping somewhere to eat I would be happy to eat whatever food I got. I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed the similarities to other "Mexican Grill" chains, as I was a frequent customer to one in the past. My expectations were that of mediocre, filling food, given that I've never heard of this place before. I was assured by my colleagues from the area that this was one of their favorite spots. Even though I usually order a bowl from other restaurants, I decided on a chicken burrito with every customization option. I wish I could make it up, but upon my first bite, I was nearly brought to tears. This burrito was so damn good. I savored every bite of my meal and left happy. Fast forward to today, I was visiting Six Flags with two work friends, when I remembered this place as being no more than half an hour from the theme park. I came after we spent the day in the park, hungry and tired once more. Got a burrito. I actually cried this time. Something about the memory of my first try and the flavors I experienced really resonated with me. On top of that, the service was really great. The workers were friendly, patient with me as Spanish was their first language, with it being my second language. One of my friends pointed out how highly I spoke of my prior experience there, and they were so kind to give me a free side of nachos and queso (which were also delicious). I can't wait to come here again, whenever that may be. Truly a hidden gem. read more

Finally a fast-food burrito place in the middle of nowhere. This place is another one of those wannabe Chipotle places like Qdoba and etc. The exceptions that "distinguishes" them from Chipotle are: 1. the "fresh made" tortilla - even though its cool seeing it made "fresh", it still tastes the same as any other tortilla in other burrito places 2. The cilantro "with lime" rice. Personally, I find Chipotle's rice to be better than theirs because I love cilantro and at Pancheros, you cannot taste the cilantro. 3. The blue chips instead of the regular chips 4. They mix the ingredients for you prior to wrapping the burrito (I don't know if this really makes the big of a difference) 5. VERY slow service. This place is takes about 2-3 times the speed of Chipotle to make a burrito so you will see a long line at prime eating hours. But its new, so I will let them slide by with this. Overall I find Chipotle to be far superior to this place, but given that this is the only fast-food burrito place around, I guess I will eat here when I'm in the mood for fast-food burrito without driving 30 miles. P.S. I find that most restaurants around Bordentown area (this place, Mastori, Dublin's, All-Star, and etc.) to be doing pretty well. These places are always packed during prime time so to me it looks like people around here like to eat out (or they have nothing better to do since there's nothing here), so if you want to open up a restaurant and do well, think about opening up one here. What a shame. This place used to be a decent burrito spot and now its nothing more than a spot that wants to pinch pennies and offer subpar service. I had a completed pancheros loyalty card where you earned a stamp for every item you purchase and when you get 10 stamps, the 11th is free. Easy way to get people to come back, right? Wrong. I went there tonight and proceeded to get a standard burrito bowl. The only "premium" item i got was guac. I've ordered it every time and while its charged to me, I only got one stamp as expected. When I checked out, the woman at the register gave me a dirty look when I gave her the card and said she couldnt take it as it was very old. The card said nothing about expiration dates or, "additional charges for guacamole" or whatever. This worker (who was barking orders so I guess she was the manager) eventually did accept the card but made me pay for the guacamole. Really? I eat 10 times at your restaurant and you need to charge me for the guacamole? So much for customer loyalty. The market is saturated with burrito spots and even though this worker "won" by getting me to pay something tonight, I will never be back. Save your money, time and sanity for something better, like Chipotle. They wouldn't do this to a customer - especially one who was just using a promotion that your restaurant offered! they continue to close early even though there time says they are open til 9:30pm monday through saturday. When I saw this pop up on yelp, I thought lets give this a try. It looked like a chain, but how does it compare to the other ones? The very first thing I saw behind the counter was that they make their own wraps. I saw this for the very first time in New York City a few weeks ago at Wrapido. I was pretty excited to try this again. They take a ball of dough and use a machine to press it to created a wrap for the burrito. They have smaller dough balls for soft tacos. They take the pressed wrap and warm it up on the griddle. The result is a nice thin wrap that doesn't feel heavy like the ones from the supermarkets. The process of creating a burrito is similar to the other chain, you tell the staff to add beans, meats, and condiments(cheese, guacamole, salsa, etc). I believe the meat is either organic or free range. The best part is that they mix all the ingredients before forming the burrito. This gives you a nice even burrito. One thing that annoys me about a burrito is when you bite into one, you either get the meat, beans or other ingredients in separate bites, which also falls out. Mixing the ingredients before hand holds everything together nicely. The burrito was great. It is a little smaller than the other chain one, but you are not left hungry. My only complaint is that the chips were salty. I think they are prepackaged, so that is your typical store bought Mexican chips. For the vegetarians, the black and pinto beans are vegetarian. You can make a grilled veggie or a bean burrito. This is a place I definitely will go back to. read more

Bright and cheery. Clean and efficient. It can't possibly be an authentic Mexican joint. Still, the tortillas are fresh pressed before your very eyes, and the fillings for any number of items on the menu look to be prepared only a short time before being stuffed and folded into a quesadilla, taco, or burrito. The free blue chips and salsa upon presenting your Yelp app coupon is also a nice touch. While I will always prefer the true "hole in the wall" Mexican, Guatemalan, or Salvadoran shop that are so plentiful and delicious now in Chambersburg and Hamilton, I would certainly not avoid Panchero's if the mood struck. Like Chipotle, it is a sanitized Americanized Hybrid Mexican-lite cuisine, that much like its Chinese-American cousins, has its own dedicated following. You could do worse. read more

On 5/30/2023 - We decided to try Pancheros for lunch. There were 2 employees at the counter, both of which seemed miserable to be present. Ordered a salad bowl with chicken. I was shocked by the size of the meat served, all of the meats were cut into tiny cubes which is not an issue, however, the serving size was a big concern. I was served 1 tablespoon of meat. I thought this was a mistake but I noticed my colleague had a tablespoon of steak. The size of the bowls were much smaller than what you get at Moe's or Chipotle. Nonetheless, we accepted it for what it is. I will never go to another Pancheros again. Good luck to the organization. read more

Finalllly... a Mexican place in our area! I'm a huge fan of Chipotle and this is the "small town" version of it. It's still as tasty and healthy! The difference between Chipotle and this place is the homeliness and warm colors (versus the steel and large crowds at Chipotle). It works vitrually the same way. You choose a burrito, salad, etc. and then choose your rice --- type of beans -- type of meat or vegetarian option --- and finally your corn/salsas/guacamole/etc. Service was great, as was the management! I've been going to Pancheros since 2013 and have always enjoyed the food. I've spent hundreds if not over $1000 here over the years. My issue is with the woman working the register. I think she is a manager. Everyone here is very friendly including another manager/owner who has always been kind to me since day 1. More often than not I have to deal with this other female manager. She has zero customer service and is cold and rude when interacting. I've been to this location at least 50 times and she is always unpleasant to deal with. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 5 is due to her demeanor every time I come here. She needs some coaching/training on how to be more inviting and polite to people coming in. read more

Went into this store and the two general workers where very friendly but what appeared to be the Manager who had a very thick accent that I could not understand started getting very irate when I kept asking him what he said. He then tried charging me extra for products that I did not get like double Steak and Tofu when I did not even order extra on the two burritos only one. I've been coming to this location for years and the service is always 5 star! All the meal options come with the choice of carnitas, steak, chicken or veggies, which are always solid, if somewhat uninspiring. Generic bean, salsa, queso options, etc are available and while all the toppings are so-so, the lack of imagination is totally made up for by the red and green hot sauce that is available to add to your meal. With more locations selling fish and shrimp and now even tofu tacos I'm in heaven! I tired this place after doing a little shopping. Since moving to Hamilton, this is our favorite quick go-to that we love, just a block from our house. However, there is a new lady working there that never gives any toppings. I believe she is the owner's wife and she pinches every penny out of your burrito. All I ask for is cheese and she puts a tiny pinch on. Ask for more and she up-charges you. This has happened every time she works there. Their portions used to be appropriate; not generous, but appropriate for the price, and I was always satisfied. I understand a business has to make money, but save yourself one or two pennies on giving me an adequate amount of cheese (since I order no other toppings), and lose a dedicated customer. Is that penny saved worth losing the hundreds I would spend in the future? Absolutely not. Happy customers = customer retention = profit for your business. We plan to start making our burritos at home where we can control our own portion quality. Please go back to the quality that you used to offer, if you want to keep our business. Not bad. Was bored and decided to drive out and try this place. I have to say, its pretty good. Within the major chains we have in this area, Chipotle, Qdoba, and Moe's Mexican Grill, I say this ranks above Qdoba. Pretty close second to Chipotle. I had the steak burrito with rice, no beans, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo sour cream, and guacamole. Fresh made tortilla are really good and worth the wait. The steak was tender and flavorful and pico de gallo was pretty good. They also mix up the filling before wrapping your burrito which is good and bad. I like that you get some of everything in each bite but then again it's so mixed up that you can't taste any one ingredient. I sometimes like getting a bite and being able to taste the sour cream or guacamole. Oh big bonus. Free guacamole in your burrito. :) read more

Went here last night with my boyfriend. He got a burrito bowl loaded with pretty much every single topping they offered. I chose a rather simple chicken quesadilla. Set up is the same as Chipotle and Qdoba, you customize your meal, and they seem to have the same options. However, Pancheros seemed much more welcoming and personal. The guys behind the counter were really friendly and helpful. Anywayyyysss.... my quesadilla (aka dilla) was quite good. The tortilla was delicious, probably because THEY MAKE THAT $HlT ON THE SPOT, RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. They take out a ball of dough, throw it on a compresser, and then straight to the grill and bam! fresh tortilla!! Seriously awesome. Really super fresh, not sticky or chewy at all. It was warm and made me happy. The chicken was also cooked very well (no fatty parts....gross), but had much less flavor than Chipotle. I liked that there was a very slight kick to the pico de gallo, it was a nice substitute for annoying people like me who don't want salsa but tomatoes are just BORING. I also liked the fact that they call it pico de gallo. It makes me angry when I say that at Chipotle and they look at me like im crazy... just sayin. Cheese was great, guacamole was very good. Overall, enjoyed my dilla very much. I realize that I got the most minimal item on the menu though... my bad.... not much help. I ate here once and asked for nachos, they loaded them up and waited until it was time to pay before telling me they they don't do nachos so they did it "special" and billed it as chips and salsa and everything I added on them was rang up as a side. So chips and salsa, side of beans, side of meat, side of queso, side of rice. It came out to like 17$. And when I argued it they wouldn't change anything.
