    Birria Burrito-
    Mike P.

Ordered takeout tonight for the family. Easy to get to with ample 20 minute limit parking on the side of the building. Side parking allowed me go avoid on street and made pickup a breeze! Quaint indoor dining area which we didn't use but looked like a nice option for dine in. Food was ready on time, order was correct, friendly staff at pickup, and everything was amazing! Birria tacos, birria burrito, tofu burrito with chipotle smothered, empanadas, churros, and tres leches. Highly recommend!!!

    Chips and salsa

I had the chips and salsa here for the first time today and I do not recommend them. Firstly, the chips are too thick for my liking, but that's preference. Secondly, it's not the typical red salsa you'd get, but the green salsa with pico de Gallo in it. I wouldn't get it again. Also, one of my chips in my chip bag had a bit of sour cream on it (how???) which I thought was kind of unsanitary because why are the chips touching other food. The tacos are still good, but I'd say skip the chips and salsa.

We stopped by the other day for dinner & loved everything. Especially the Elote Shrimp! Fresh food, quick service. Not many people eating-in but we were happy to see lots of ppl picking up /takeout.

    Chicken street tacos( excellent)

I am a fan of their Hightstown location and even a bigger one of this larger and more upscale shop. I hadn't even realized they had one here until I noticed it on Yelp, despite driving past a few times recently. Trish and I agreed it would be a perfect Sunday lunch. The space itself is quite nice, with a large wall featuring air plants and assorted succulents in cute containers, several rustic wooden tables and chairs, and even a granite bar( Byob here so just to eat from) As you enter you proceed to the counter to order, give your phone # so they can text you when it is ready and wait in the dining room. Trish selected her usual Mex choice, a beef and shrimp burrito. It was definitely large and looked respectable, she enjoyed it but said she might change up some ingredients if ordering again. My chicken street tacos were excellent. This was pulled meat that was sautéed in a red sauce and topped with several things: lightly pickled cabbage, grilled onions, pico de Gallo, avocado crema and cheese. It sounds like a lot going on but each ingredient contributed to the whole, even the very good white corn tortillas. Mine came with yellow rice and black beans too, they were ok but I appreciated the added sides, many places don't serve any sides when you order tacos. We shared a horchata, it was flavorful but a bit too sweet, some ice would have helped. A small order of guacamole was decent but might be omitted in future visits. My tacos were definitely 5 stars, maybe the best chicken tacos I've had in recent memory, but other aspects of the meal keep me in 4 star territory. I'm not a fan of the ordering setup, it was slow when we visited but during busy times I think it might be confusing or inefficient. I also was not a fan of the automated CC terminal. At the end of the transaction you are prompted to tip either 10, 15 or 20% with no other options except no tip. Based on no servers and the fact that you bus your own stuff, even 10% seems high. This is a Chipotle type business that to me is much better than that chain, but I feel there are very good options nearby that are more hole in the wall. I will return here to try their pupusas and other taco options, but I won't forget the more metro based and more authentic shops either.

    a swanky Chipotle

Very good food - it didn't taste like it was from a franchise at all. This restaurant reminds me of a "swanky" 'Chipotle.' (I love the area it is located in). You decide on a burrito, taco, or a bowl base, and then choose your toppings from there. Give your cell number for texting purposes, for when your order is ready to be picked up. We started with an appetizer of guacamole and chips. I didn't like the guacamole, which stinks for me because I LOVE guacamole. I'm not sure if it was the white onions or something else? (I didn't try the chips). I chose a half steak / half shrimp burrito for my lunch. It was nice and big!!! The shrimp were good and grilled and the steak was pretty good (not great). Nothing was over salted, which is huge to me. However, I had stomach pains 15 minutes after leaving and then again at home. I didn't eat or drink much differently earlier in the day, sooooo . . . . . just sayin'. Vince had chicken "street" tacos, which he liked an awful lot. We ordered a "Horchata". Only $2 for a pretty darn big cup. I took a few sips - it was good but overly sweet, even for this sweet tooth! The staff was friendly, and even the bathrooms were clean. Although my burrito was very good, I still like 'Chiopotle' better and will know how to order differently if we go again.

That said, I don't believe in writing a place off after a single average experience, so I decided to give it a second chance. This time, I ordered two different viral crunches along with a croissant. Unfortunately, the results were disappointing across the board. The Mixed Berry Crunchy was cute in presentation, but that was its only redeeming quality. There was no bold--or even subtle--mixed berry flavor. At $10, it felt wildly overpriced and not worth the calories. Next was the Lemon Crunchy, which is supposed to feature a lemon blueberry flavor. As someone who loves lemon, I had high expectations, but once again it was bland and forgettable. Since this is a bakery, I also tried a fresh croissant and asked for it to be warmed. The staff accommodated the request, and it smelled incredible. It was warm, light, and flaky--but sadly, the flavor fell flat. A light brushing of butter on top would have gone a long way. For me, this is strike two. Unfortunately, Lilla Vanilla just isn't worth the money or the calories. Based on my experience--mediocre service on the first visit, bland and overpriced featured items on the second, and only neutral-to-slightly-positive notes on the croissant--I'd rate it 2 out of 5 . I seriously contemplated giving them 1 star but to be fair, the viral crunchy presentation was appealing and the croissant did have good texture (even if the flavor missed).

They've an impressive range of flavors, and I try to always try a flavor that I've not had in a long time, however I need to have my chocolate cherry more often than not. It's also very common to see people walking along the counter to pick their flavors. If you haven't made a decision, and the people behind you in line know what they want, do the right thing and let them go first. They give healthy scoops, and one scoop, although it doesn't sound like much, might be enough for someone with less post-dinner space available in their belly. If it's your first time visiting, watch the scoops being given to the person in front of you before making your decision. As an added bonus, during Spring and Summer Saturday nights, they have live music in the room as well. It's a cheap, fun date.

The hot fudge is delicious, but hard to enjoy when they give so little and the ice cream starts out melty. I hope the management will start listening to customer feedback and fix the stocking issues. 3 and 3/4 stars…read more Someone said a "slice of Boca"? No, not quite. (Although "not Boca" isn't necessarily a bad thing.) However you look at it, the comparison is inflated. The latte was good (not delicious), but a tad watery with a fullness of flavor missing. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon and the place was busy, but not overwhelming so. Tables were full, but it was only a short wait for me to place my simple order (by coffee shop standards) of a small, vanilla latte. However, once my order was taken (yes, the wait-server was pleasant) and I paid, I was left to figure it out. First time in and so I didn't know what the deal was: do I wait where I am? Pick up at a different counter? Ok...but where? Does someone call my drink out when it's ready (there's no put-your-name-on-a-cup thing -- which IS annoying, but apparently can be more handy than I've previously thought)? Is the order stated when the cup is placed down? The person who waited on me had vanished into a gaggle of chatting and giggling girls behind the counter, so I asked another customer. (FYI: you wait at the perpendicular counter to your left of the register.) No big deal, but it's one of those "little things" that separates the four stars from the five. I moved to the "wait" counter and observed a few drinks being placed down -- all beverages in similar cups -- and had to (again) ask someone else for help (i.e., which order was mine), as the barista who made my drink put it down and then disappeared into that gaggle of girls. (Also minor, but another separator of the three and three quarter stars from the four.) In short, the latte was good, but not the best. The service? Ok, but not the best. The ambiance? Again ok. Maybe because I've lived in SE Florida for more than 20 years, but it definitely does not have that true Boca feel. Nonetheless, given the options in the area, Hamilatte is a welcome attempt at something different, and definitely a preferred choice to Starbucks. I will return if I'm nearby, but I won't go out of my way (as I do for a truly 5-star establishment).
