Reminded us of places in San Antonio TX. Food was delicious, from tostones to flan with perfect rice & beans in between. The carne asada was generous and seasoned well. The salsa was so good I wanted their recipe! The service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and prompt. We got there just before the dinner rush; the place filled up quickly. Service didn't suffer. This is the worst experience i have EVER had at any restaurant. My party of 5 waited over 2 hours while multiple other customers who came way after my party were served quickly. We were looking for a Mexican dinner, and after passing this place so many times, we finally went. Happy we did, as we now have a new place to enjoy a meal. Start with complimentary chips and salsa (warm chips and tasty, but not aggressively spicy salsa). We had a taco salad and a combo with two crunchy tacos (one beef, one chicken) and an enchilada. Taco salad was overflowing, with piles of cheese and beef, and the combo plate was filling. Funny enough, they got my order of black beans wrong and as a result I got to taste the best refried beans I've ever had. Do not let the location deter you. So what if there is a sleepy motel behind this restaurant. You are not going there for the night, you are going to eat. What do you want when you go out to eat? 1.) great food - Panchita Grill has that covered. I always get this Veal Dish that has a mango sauce on top it is delicious. My wife gets the typical Colombian platter (so much food) Also get the fresh guacamole it is so tasty. And our son loves the Mora Drink. 2.) great staff - Panchita Grill has that covered. All the staff are super friendly, attentive and helpful. 3.) ambience - guess what? Panchita Grill has that covered too. The decor inside is so cute and warming. They also have the option for outside seating but that area could use some help. The inside is much nicer. Unfortunately it wasn't that great. I ordered a Vegetarian Combination Platter to go and was sorely upset when I took it home and ate it. The tortilla chips and salsa tasted like dog food. Didn't enjoy them and gave the chips to my mother in law for the birds. The gaucamole tostada was disgusting, I managed to get through half of it but just couldn't eat it. The other two aspects of the platter the chille relanos and vegetarian taco were only edible because they were covered in cheese. It takes a lot for me to write a bad review I usually just don't go to the place I didn't like but don't want to ruin the place with negative review but this place deserves it. This restaurant qualifies for zero stars on 3 out of 4 indicators of good restaurant. 1. Food quality 2. Price 3. Customer service the only one which was sorta ok was cleanliness. Remember this is supposed to be high end establishment so review is based on that not a street vendor. 1. Food quality, generally the food was completely average but all the meats they brought were super salty to the point that we didn't even finish it. 2. Price, as I said this supposed to be high end so beware in a country that a family of four can easily feed (to the point of exploding) in a decent place for tops $40, paying $90 for 2 appetizers and 2 entrees was a lot price but here is the kicker they added %18 mandatory gratuity. As far as I know this is done when you have large parties not party of 4 and funny thing is this was charged in a country that tipping is not customary or at least large tips. 3. But the real reason that prompted me to write this review (almost an essay) is the customer service. Originally they brought 2 appetizers and one entree at the same time!!! So we started hoping that the last one will arrive soon, to make it short we finished the first 3 dishes and after half an hour that nothing happened we called the waiter and said never mind the last one but he said no we can't because it is ready so we said ok fine bring it. 20 minutes later the food didn't come and that is when I exploded and called the waiter again he figured out I am really pissed (don't need translations) so in 2 minutes the super salty food arrived and they didn't even bother to APOLOGIZE the guy didn't even acknowledge that they screwed up. 4. So I have never been here before but my mom has. We went for her friends birthday around 11... whenever they open is when we went. I had a great time and the food was actually really good. Idkw it was but my meal was AMAZING! I've been wanting to go back for a while JUST to get that stuffed plantain. It filled me up that I couldn't even finish the arepas. My fullness now that I think of it is probably also due to the complimentary chips and salsa that you get. I really enjoyed both and the homemade guac! However last but not least... THAT RED SANGRIA!!!! THE BEST sangria I have ever consumed!!! So much fresh fruit and flavor and the consistency is what I also enjoyed.. had texture due to the fresh fruits. I will definitely be back again, although the prices are high, the amount of food you get is a lot and can be eaten in a couple days. This place is really great. It definitely felt authentically Mexican, from the ambience to the food to the drinks. Me and my family got the garlic soup, fish, chicken, and steak tacos de cabron and a bandera paisa. All of it was really good. We even got churros and a tres leches flan for dessert and enjoyed that too. While it did take a bit long for the food to come out, the food seemed and tasted fresh as can be and the drinks were really good. read more

I had a wonderful lunch experience here and will be going back often as it's close to my job. This place isn't much to look at from the outside, but the smell from the outside said it all. Inside it is an authentic Mexican restaurant. They have the music, the sombreros, the little knickknacks, etc, giving it a good vibe. They start you off with homemade tortilla chips and salsa which I had to stop myself from eating before I got too full, they were so fresh and hit the spot! We ordered half a pitcher of housemade sangria which, for 2 people...this was enough. They also offer a whole pitcher of sangria which would probably be great except I had to head back to work ;). The menu offers a wide variety of things that are very reasonably priced. I went with the beef burrito/cheese enchilada combo which was $7.50 and also came with a side of yellow rice and refried beans. The food came out fairly quickly and it was gone just as fast as it came out. AMAZING. I was pleasantly surprised and extremely satisfied with the meal. The service is also something to be talked about. The men working there were SO nice, helpful, and very attentive. They always came around to make sure everything was ok, and even poured more sangria from our pitcher when we were getting low. Overall, I had a great time here chatting it up over sangria and stuffing my face with chessy deliciousness of Mexican food. So, my hispanic friend invited me to come out dancing with his friend and family. Apparently this place is a restaurant and club downstairs. Before I was to meet him, I got something to eat here alone. I sat at the bar. The waitresses and everyone around was so friendly. That's the first thing I noticed and that's always a good sign. I ordered two chicken tacos and a side or rice. They had given me salsa and chips for an "appetizer". My food came out pretty quickly. It was delicious! When I got the check, I thought it did seem pricey for what I had actually ordered. Their is only ONE bathroom for each gender, in a Mexican restaurant, really? The place is small inside. Not too many tables and the bar is tiny. Probably seats around 7 people? Anyway, so my friend got there and we just drank water all night. The cover was $10 - are you kidding? But apparently people pay for that! There are so many tables around, and the security or whoever it was told us all that since we're not having liquor we'd have to move if anyone drinking wants to sit down. I have something to say about that, but let me be nice on here..... They obviously played Spanish music all night long. By the time I was out of there, my ears were ringing until the next morning - it was so loud. It was mostly an older crowd of people. I can't understand why they walk off the dance floor when a song is over? I loved watching everyone dance! It's totally different from what I'm used to. I loved learning to dance, I wasn't the only one who didn't know those moves, there were other people in the club who were just going with the flow, too. Went last night on impromptu date night looking for good authentic new places in LI. Panchita delivered with authentic taste, but was not only good...it was great experience! Cozy, inviting interior reminiscent of island colors and decor. Staff was friendly and very helpful - food came fairly quick. Okay, on to the food...from what we could tell everything was made from scratch. Chips they serve on the table along with medium spiced salsa definitely fresh aNfd not out of a bag. Ceviche app was popping and not too acidic like some other places. Hubby ordered the two chxn enchilada in mole sauce - fantastic! We had been going to this place for years, but tonight, to our surprise, we had the worst service that I have ever experienced at a restaurant. The waitress was rude, the food was sub par, and they claimed they ran out of sour cream, but the table next to us who received their order after us had sour cream with their meals. It also did not seem like many of the waitstaff spoke English which caused issues with our orders. It is ashame, after years of going to this place, we will not return again. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I ordered one of the most basic Mexican meals, fajitas and I was severely disappointed. First of all I tried to order the horchata which the waitress said was unavailable ok that's fine. However, another person at the table with me asked both the waitress and I to explain what it was as I began to explain the waitress with confidence cuts me off (as she should since she should know better than I) and says it's something only found in Mexico. Needless to say I was super confused because horchata is comprised of rice milk and spices which are not only found in Mexico (literally any one with these ingredients and time can make it SMH). That should have been the first flag. However, I decided to look pass that exchange and I ended up ordering a pina colada and the chicken fajitas. The fajitas came with beans (I do not like beans) never in my life did I order fajitas and have to confirm if beans came with the order. After re-checking the menu no where does it indicate that beans would have come with the order. Furthermore, the sizzling chicken must have been just for show because the chicken looked undercooked and wasn't seasoned on top of that it seems like they put a can of tomato sauce on top of the chicken and onions. I also ordered tostone/patacones and they looked grey and stale. I should have known something was off because even the complimentary table nachos and the salsa wasn't fresh. As soon as the food came out the mere appearance and odor of the food made me begin to retch, which eventually escalated into full on nausea and then I could no longer keep my pina colada down. Maybe it was the combo of the Pina colada and the odor and taste. Maybe the weekend cook is better than the Tuesday afternoon cook. As I am of Caribbean and Central American descent I have been eating Columbian (Central American) and Latin foods all my life I was severely disappointed and everything looked unappetizing and the food that I tried tasted awful. Okay Mexican/ Spanish/ Colombian restaurant in Deer Park. Started out with the empanadas which were filled with ground meat and mashed potato. The shell was hard and a tad greasy but the inside was tasty. Ordered the Colombian style arroz con pollo. The rice was good, could've used some cilantro and the chicken was over cooked and dry. Tried the entraña, a grilled skirt steak, rice, beans and sweet plantains. The steak was juicy and perfectly cooked but not seasoned which made the dish kind of bland. Service was very friendly, attentive and welcoming. Prices are slightly higher than typical but not bad either. Not my favorite Latin spot but a decent option for the area. read more

Very good experience. Mango margarita was on point. Not at all weak like a lot of other places that make u question if u ordered a virgin drink! We shared the tropical quesadillas (ham, pineapple & cheese), the pachita nachos (beef, cheese & jalapeños) and the chicken flauntas. Everything was very good. Looking forward to coming back here and trying new dishes. I was surprised to see that they had typical Columbian dishes on the menu also. I thought they only served mexican food here. Im pretty much speechless. The food was mediocre. My friend had the quesadillas which was returned. Sangria wasn't bad but I was not feeling the amount of white sugar on the bottom of the glass :(. Potato skins, Grilled skirt steak, taco salad, and chicken quesdillas..all tender, had the write amount of flavor in them, and good portions sizes. Gulped all of those down What didn't work? Wasn't feeling the spanish sausages, (too much sauce, very bland,l) and the enchiladas-my first and last time having them, soggy ALOT of cheese, after one bite felt nauseous.
