I went to Tap & Tapas on a friday night for dinner with a friend. It was pretty crowded when we arrived, and we didn't have a reservation, but were sat within minutes as a cozy table near the back. The food was SO delicious and I loved that they had 3 wines on tap. Our favorite dishes were the shrimp in garlic butter sauce, the hummus and the churros for dessert. The service was a little slow, but everything else was fantastic. Will definitely be going back!

I am so impressed. I live in NYC (from Northport) so I am able to get great food often. Long Island restaurants can be hit or miss with quality and service. This place gets everything right. They have a decent happy hour with food and drink. A great tapas menu and good wine/cocktail list. Try the white sangria. Our favorites were the chicken skewers, potato bravas, and beet salad. Shrimp and Pan Con Tomate were solid. Only complaint is the lamb was a bit dry. We sat outside and loved our experience. I hope this place lasts. It's perfect for Northport.

Found this gem on our way to the Northport Library for a talk. We had a little time so decided to try a few quick bites here. Fantastic cozy ambiance and terrific service! We tried the patatas bravas which were crispy on the outside and tender inside. This was my first tasting of Pimientos prepared this way and i am hooked! They were sweet yet once in a while you get one with just enough heat to spice up the experience. I have heard that it's good luck to get one with a bit of heat! The portions were generous and shareable, and well-presented. We had a mezcal ($18) that the bartender recommended and my friend said it was one of the best ones she has tasted yet. My other friend had a Sangria which was also tasty and a generous serving. He knew we were limited for time and made it work for us in a kind way. We'll be back!

Food and flavors were exceptional , drinks were also great . My favorite was the paella and the salad we got with burrata and pumpkin . Absolutely amazing . Will def be coming back . Only let down was some items were sold out on a Wednesday night , which is a little odd to me . Other than that service was good and the atmosphere seemed like everyone was enjoying their food .

Going out to dinner and not looking for a big meal in the Northport/ East Northport area, then Tap/Tapas is for you. A cocktail to start off your dining experience is the Peach Sangria light, tasty and refreshing. There's something for everyone ( vegan, gluten free, meat, fish). The place is perfect for a first date or a romantic dinner. You can enjoy the sidewalk experience or sit inside. Service was good but if you pay with cash you need to bring it to their attention because they give you the credit card price on the bill. It's only street parking. Ciao for Now.

These are empty plates because it was sooo delicious!!

I want to put 5 stars but I really wanted flan and tortilla Española and it was sold out. This however is to note that the food is phenomenal. Service is very good :) We have opted to come when the weather is a bit warmer like this late spring night in May and sat outside. Fresh mint growing in the front and lovely Spanish music playing the background. Also the Sangria is one of the best I've had in a while, The flan is superb!

Great place, excellent food, friendly service. Our first time there and it won't be the last. Listed pictures below.

Love this little place! They are just so lovely, accommodating, and obviously passionate about their food and culture. My friend & I ate here and shared several of the specials, the steak was excellent, cooked just right. The greens and other dishes had so many interesting taste combinations, we were delighted. Also, the sangria was excellent. Look, it's tapas. If you're a big guy looking for a lot of heavy food, don't come here. But if you like trying a bunch of smaller dishes, each one a taste sensation, then I urge you to check them out. They need more presence to draw attention to their location. If you're looking for quiet place, good food, cozy atmosphere with great music then this is it!

So I finally got back to try the food. I had visitors from out of town, San Francisco actually so they're tough to please and I wanted to impress, this is the place to do it. , We all love tapas and Tap and tapas is the highest rated restaurant for this on Long Island. Lucky for us I live nearby. They did not disappoint, the food, service, vibe was phenomenal. Top quality all the way my family was impressed and so was I and we will be back. Everybody enjoyed their wine while I opted for a guava margarita, which was delicious and refreshing, we ordered the salad with the burrata. It was delicious. We also got the chorizo which everybody thoroughly enjoyed. The pastas bravas were spicy crispy and delicious. We had to have the Iberico ham which was sweet and wonderful. I loved the sautéed greens with the garbanzo beans I could eat that every day. The chicken skewers were so juicy and deliciou, the best I've ever had on Long Island and we finished it up with the Badque cheesecake we really enjoyed our meal. can't wait to go back.

This place is described as tapas-style, so some dishes are on the smaller size, but the more expensive dishes are full portion: the burger, chicken, pasta w/crab, etc. Seems they also change their menu very regularly, as I saw some fantastic looking things in the pictures here, none of which were on the menu. On the more expensive side price wise, and there is a full bar and bourbon selection to punch it higher. Tried a few things, some I'd skip if I came back, but also a few things I'd like to try that I didn't get to. Skippables include the Gouda Gruyères: onion soubise and the cacio e pepe, both underwhelming and more expensive than it should have been. I also tried the gem salad, chicken wings, the rigatoni with sausage and broccoli rabe, and the flan for dessert. Flavors were good, the wings were very heavy on the salt but had good flavor, and everything else was covered in tons of cheese, from the salad to the pasta, it was a lot. Service was quick, waitress friendly. People in the area seem to absolutely love this place and overhearing people talk, there's nothing bad on the menu, and the corn agnolotti was delicious (I was sad to have changed my order, this is what I was originally going to get). When it was time for the bill, both tables bills were wrong and it had to be fixed multiple times. Even when we were ready to pay. It was all ready, and they wanted to fix the bill again. It was ridiculous and uncalled for. Service was absolutely terrible. On to the food... I ordered a cucumber salad. Menu stated it had cucumbers, avocado and onion. When it came out it didn't have onion, but had feta cheese. I am not a fan of feta at all. I didn't bother sending it back, as it already took nearly 45 minutes for a salad. After navigating around the feta, the salad had decent flavor. I also ordered salmon capriccio. It was light and tasty. It took a while to come out, and it's not even something that has to be cooked. Not overly impressed. Service was terrible, wait times for food was unacceptable and flavors were just okay.

We read a recent review where someone proclaimed the owner to be nasty & unfriendly (sure, I am paraphrasing). Those types of reviews are generally emotionally charged and written by plebs I find. More on that toward the end. Pulling up to a rather unassuming east end Long Island small shopping plaza drenched in rain; opening the door, you are taken back to a semi rustic and dim interior. Perfectly elegant in its bucolic charm- with nice lounge music playing. It is a sit where one likes atmosphere. This is meant with the utmost of respect and candour. We were greeted kindly by the proprietoress (Jacqueline), and handed pleasantly robust binders with the wine list and food. Deciding to treat this in the more European café type, we had glasses and charcuterie. I, the Sagrantino, and her the Kerner. Jacqueline was vocally pleased with our interesting choices. The night drew on, more wine ensued, more food, multiple conversations, and I completed reading through each page and wine choice...finding much to be recognised and appreciated (Kirwan, Moric, Georg Breuer to name but a few) At the end of the night, I asked Jacqueline to pick an appropriate nightcap.
