The Chowchilla Panda Express is the worst panda express I've ever been to. Nothing is ever ready. I usually go through the drive-through, but I chose to go in today so that I could see what was available without trying to order stuff that I had to wait on. When I went inside, they had three entrées that had nothing in them, but a few scraps. The restaurant is usually clean and customer service is satisfactory. We eat here fairly often. The restaurant is clean, the employees are fast and accurate, and the food is good. Let's be honest, it's not necessarily Chinese food. It's what Americans think is Chinese food. If you accept that, you can have a really good meal here. We eat here the same way we eat at any other fast food outlet. Something to fill your stomach on the way to or from something else. It's certainly not "dining", but if you're after a quick meal that tastes good, and won't take a lot of time, you could do far worse. We'd recommend it over just about any burger joint. read more

My husband went on his lunch time to the chowchilla, ca location and had a very bad experience. Ended up with no food and had to finish his work day starving due to spending his whole 30 mins of his lunch waiting for his food. He ordered thru the drive thru and the said the chow mein wasn't read so to wait in the parking lot that it should be about 5 mins, 30 mins later nobody brings out his food. He goes in and asks what happens then asked for his money back cause he had to go back to work as he had no more time to wait again. The manager didn't offer an apology or anything just grabbed his receipt and refunded the money and walked away. Not happy at all. I really wish this place was better. I love Panda but my family and I won't be coming back to this location. We have given it three opportunities but each time the service was awful. 1st time: they forget to give us utensils for our meal. 2nd Time: screwed up our order 3rd time: We had to wait for the egg rolls to be done which is perfectly fine but then they have them to the wrong car in the parking lot! So...here at Panda Express in Madera. ITS NUTS over here. I put in an online order bc I knew it was going to be a long line. We get here a few minutes early and we're greeted with a warm welcome and they verified the order. While waiting there's some old skool friends I knew from back in the day walk in and we chop it up quick, shake some hands and greet each other. A few minutes later one of the employees gives me a couple drinks free for the wait. Granted I didn't order them and I am not in any hurry like the rest of these crazy ass people in line. So I sit humbly and get myself some water. Yea I know free drinks and I get water. But then a couple minutes more pass by and again I sit here patiently...I get two more drinks for free. We were on the way to Yosemite and made a quick pit stop here for lunch. Honestly, this is the newest Panda building I've seen and I was so impressed with the interior! The servers were super friendly and when Mushroom Chicken was nearly out, they offered to make a fresh batch which was a nice gesture. Horrible customer service from an employee named PRAB received my order and one bowl had a lot less sweet fire chicken then the other so I went in to order an extra side of it and she asked if she had missed something and I said no, that I would just like to add an order of sweet fire because one of my bowls had a lot more then the other... she immediately began to argue with me and requested for me to show her my bowl so I went back to my car and brought it in she then seen it and still continued to argue with me at this point I was just over it and was about to leave then another employee intervened and asked what the problem was and I proceeded to tell her that I was just trying to buy and extra side since my bowl had literally 4 small pieces of chicken but then PRAB began to argue with me and made it a much bigger deal then what it needed to be, I was just trying to buy my extra side but instead I had to deal with this horrible experience... she really needs to work on her customer service and manners read more

My experience wasn't that my order was incorrect or cold but was a little shy in the portion department. Here is was I ordered... chow mien, broccoli and beef and honey walnut shrimp. You can probably guess which of the three entreés I was most looking forward to. So to my udder disappointment two lowly and pathetic looking breaded, honey covered shrimp were starring at me, (instead of the 5 or 6 I'm accustom to) mocking me in approval that their buddies had escaped being devoured by my crooked two front teeth. Disappointment quickly turned into anger as I gazed at what was to be an epic, mouth watering fulfillment of my hunger. Now I can only think of what could have been. But this is why YELP is here, to act as a pseudo therapist to get me through this dark moment in my dinner history. To Yelp I say "Thank you". There was one time that they just forgot to cook part of our order and we waited 20 minutes until I finally went inside and let them know of the error.
