I ordered the Honey Sesame Chicken bowl on 4th St. in El Centro, CA, and they only gave me 7 little pieces. The chicken didn't even cover half of the rice in the bowl. The chicken was also extremely dry and the glaze was basically nonexistent. I asked them why the portion was so small and they said that is their "normal" serving size. If I wanted such I small portion, I would have been better off ordering the kid's meal. I DO NOT RECOMMEND getting a bowl at this location. read more

I do like going to Panda Express in El Centro. The location is close by and there is ample parking. It is the Americanized version of Chinese food - it is tasty. I do not remember if there were any desserts on the menu. Nothing that caught my eye. Too bad for the surrounding cities (Brawley, etc) there isn't another Panda Express in other locations. Too bad this location closes at 9 pm, compared to the neighboring restaurants that are adjacent to Panda Express, which closes later. The staff is friendly and helpful and quick. read more

Panda express, who does not love Chinese food that has been evolved into American fast food standards the food is usually ready and they just paw what you want into a box. The lines usually move pretty fast if you find you find yourself at a busy hour due to everything being ready, prices are decent and they are generous with portions. The food is usually pretty good most of the time and the staff is fast and moving you down the line and on your way out the door or to your table. Parking on the other hand can be a pain because the lot is tiny I usually park way in the back but I don't mind walking IMO. read more

I love Panda Express and have dined at many locations across Southern California and even Arizona. Today I visited the Panda Express in El Centro, next to In-N-Out on 4th St. There were 30 cars in line at In-N-Out, where I wanted to eat, so I skipped the burger and went over to Panda. This location has a drive-up, so due to the COVID-19 pandemic I took advantage of it. There was one car in line. When it was my turn to order, I placed my order via the remote speaker in the drive-up line. I even said "ni hao"! That's when things got dicey. I had to repeat my order three times. I never got a confirmation of my order repeated back to me. The order taker never told me how much. I said "ni hao" again, and the person said "pay at the first window." So I drove to the first window, the person told me how much and I paid, and a few minutes later I was handed a bag. I started to drive away like a happy panda, but I sensed something was amiss. I hesitated because this is a Panda! Never had a problem! But since no cars were behind me, I looked in the bag and my order was not complete. So I backed up to the window, the order taker slid it open, and I told the person my order was messed up and missing an item. I opened the styrofoam container and showed them one item was missing. "You didn't order the item," they said. "We didn't hear you order it." "Yes, you did," I said. "You even charged me for it," as I showed them the receipt. "No, no!" They said. But at that point I gave up. I was tired from driving all day and didn't want to fight over their error. Besides, another car appeared behind me and I didn't want to hold them up by being a Karen. I would rate it lower than zero if I could. We always have problems with Panda Express getting our orders correct. Especially in this location. This time I preordered my food so I could get my food on time without having to stand in line. I placed my order at 4:15pm For a pick up time of 5:20pm. I got to the location at 5:30 and asked for my food. They kept saying I didn't place the order. When they finally found it, they realized they didn't even make it yet and it was for 5:20pm. They didn't have the string bean chicken so they asked me to substitute. I said whatever (I needed the food fast because I had to work at 6pm and feed the family) so as they were packing the items I asked (is there orange chicken?) the lady replies in a rude tone (you didn't order any) I go on saying please open the containers and check (they have a tendency of messing my order up) she refused and forced me to go onto the app (taking additional time) to review what was there when I clearly made it a point I had to leave. If I didn't spend $50 And had a car full of hungry kids, I would have just left. Faby continues to state it's not her fault and that it was mine, further infuriating me. So I tell her is it my fault my food was not prepared at 5:20? She goes on by saying I just got there (6:40 at this time) but I've been there for 10 minutes) to someone that isn't in a rush that is only 10 minutes, for me it was between being late to work or not. She also gets a customer involved in the situation by speaking about me directly with me still there. Very unprofessional and lack of respect. I didn't get out of Panda until 5:58! To top it all off, I paid extra for shenghai beef and what I got looked nothing like shenghai beef. Totally not worth the mental frustration and if you need something quick for the family I would not recommend this place especially a place that would hire someone like "Faby". read more

This is an update from what had previously happened. After getting my order wrong through the drive-thru (not the first time), getting charged for someone else's meal, having to waste 15 minutes out of my break time, and not getting handled well at all during my time trying to get my refund for the extra charge, I had been left a little angry. No compensation had been offered. I left them feedback. The employees were clearly not the issue. It was management, the way they deal with customer service, and the whole experience trying to get something corrected that was sour to me. I was called the next day by a Panda Express Rep. I was told that they are looking into the issue since it wasn't the first time and that they do apologize for the inconvenience. Also, I was promised two free meals at my next visit. It was great that I got a personal call and received better customer service than I did in-store. I don't plan to go back soon since I still have a bad taste in my mouth. However, I might venture back through at some point and see if anything has changed. Because of this, I am giving an additional star from the original 2 star rating. As a paying customer that frequented Panda Express more often than I should, I did appreciate the call and response to my concerns/comments. read more

I went to Panda Express and pulled through to the drive through where the woman on the other end proceeds to tell me we don't open until 10:00am. OK. Fine. Its 9:56 am, I'll wait I say. The lines have gone down since the grand opening. Have been here a couple of times and probably wont go back. I knew that I wouldnt be getting restraunt quality chinese food from here but I feel the staff could make some adjustments to make the food better (i.e the rice was really dry) , and more llke the San Diego and Yuma locations. I'm happy that Panda Express finally made its way to the Imperial Valley. Its nice to be able to satisfy my mushroom chicken craving without having to go out of town. With that being said, I think this location has a little bit of tweaking to do to get things exactly right. With chain locations, you expect there to be a certain level of consistency: one menu item here should taste exactly the same as it would in a San Diego or Yuma location. That hasn't quite been the case, but I have faith that with time, they'll nail it. I still eat here once a week, at minimum. read more

Panda Express is my favorite fast food. I'm use to great service and food at the PE on University Avenue in San Diego. I was so disappointed with poor service, favorite choices unavailable (empty bowls), food temps were low, and no utensils in my to go order. Had to ask for cups for my drink order. I've been to this location a few times since it opened, both inside and drive-thru. It's pretty small inside, but nicely decorated. The Orange Chicken was comparable to any other Panda Express I've been to, and the drive thru was a great idea. I *love* the China Mist passion fruit iced tea on a hot day.
