Nice clean store (thus 2 stars). However, the product is very limited. I have gone there several times and NEVER has there been more than ONE SINGLE FLAVOR (ALWAYS THE SAME) of scones... When I asked to speak to the Manager I was told that she was TOO BUSY. Thus is the 2nd time that she refused to me as a customer. The menu needs to be the same menu as it is in San Diego. I was down in El Centro on business and was happy to find a Panera Bread location. This one is probably the furthest South I have been too. Of course had to get my Sip Club drink. The staff was friendly, the location itself looks newer and was very clean and modern inside and out. This location also has a drive thru, which is nice if in a rush. I prefer to use the app to order and then I dine in and relax a bit and do a little work while eating. This location is perfect for that, lots of seating, very nice inside and a great representation of Panera. I highly recommend you join the Sip Club and use the app for ordering. The Sip Club is great for me traveling a lot, but also just great to get unlimited drinks every two hours with many options. The app is a no brainer to save time as well as get deals. Ok when did a bagel and cream cheese become $9.40? This floored me. Not only that, I went through the drive-through so they don't even put the cream cheese on the bagel - you have to park and spread the cream cheese on it so it's not even convenient when you're driving through. They gave me three cream cheeses, which I didn't need, but the texture of the bagel was not like the texture of a real bagel. I got the Asiago and it was horrible. So I threw it away and went to Starbucks next-door ordered a tall latte and a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich that came out to $10 . read more

We were on a road trip and stopped at PB because we weren't too hungry and knew we could get a salad made fresh and not waste any. We ordered HALF salads and on the menu that were priced at $9.49. However, when we looked at the receipt later, it showed we were charged $11.49 for each. We did not order anything "extra" or asked for something outrageous. When we asked the employee, they appeared confused but then said it was because we ordered off the "choose two" menu. NOWHERE on the menu does it say that if we order from the "choose two" menu we would pay more if we didn't choose two!! So, let me get this straight...we weren't that hungry so we ordered HALF of a salad and because we did not choose a second item, we got charged an extra $2 for each salad??!!! What??!! Since the employees could not really explain the charge, I reached out to PB customer service and got the runaround as well. Doesn't this seem like pretty shady business practices? Ordered delivery of half a tuna salad sandwic, a bowl of chicken and rice soup, a salad and 2 large drinks from the El Centro California Panera Bread. Upon delivery the bowl of soup was missing from the order. I called the store and the manager told me they cannot deliver the missing item but he offered me a free cookie the next time I would stop b the store. Last time they forgot 2 drinks but they ended up delivering them. I am a dida veteran and I cannot get out much to stores and restaurant. I rely on food being delivered to my house in Calexico. Panera Bread has now been added to my "caca"list and i refuse to spend my money there any more. read more

Do not expect to have your order prepared correctly at this location. Do not expect anything but terrible service here. Avoid this store. There are many other places to eat. You will not find satisfaction due to employee incompetence, and poor management. Twice within the last couple of weeks, this Panera could not accomplish making a sandwich correctly. It's a four ingredient sandwich, and both times two of the four ingredients were left out. I don't know if the people preparing the food are on drugs, or if they just don't care, but I would not trust the food from here, and I definitely will not be returning. read more

Unacceptable customer service. It took about 30 mins for a drive thru order for a half sandwich and smoothie. The smoothie was given right away. However, we were told to wait at space#2 for the remainder of meal. We literally got off the car to retrieve our food from the to go section of the restaurant after about 25 mins of waiting in space #2. Also, the apple provided with the meal had brown spots inside it once bitten. Suggestion to improve: make sure the drive thru orders are not neglected by staff just putting them in the to go area. Have staff monitor orders in the to go section to take them out to customers waiting in designated spots. read more

It's hard to be led astray when going to a Panera Bread! This location represented the brand well - they had great customer service and a clean restaurant. We were hungry while out on the road and were relieved to have a healthy option for lunch. Parking was plentiful out front, and our meals were ready within 10 minutes. I really wish there was another place to get bagels in this town. Every time I come in, there are no bagels in the baskets that are specifically for them in front. They are almost always out of at least one type. When I ask for half a dozen, they disappear in the back for quite a while. Not sure what they are doing back there for so long. Today I ordered, waited 5+ minutes (not unusual). Worker came out because she forgot what I ordered. I repeated my request, and she went to the back again. When I got my bag, they had toasted all of them. I never asked for them to be toasted. I give up. Someone please get a Bruegger's or Einstein Bros. out here! read more

Honestly, we loved Panera but it's become so expensive. This review doesn't concern the price; I know it's a chain and there's nothing to do about that. My husband kept craving Panera for a week and I finally caved. I ordered a half chipotle chicken avocado melt with a half green goddess salad. First, the sandwich was TINY. Not a half but literally a quarter for $8.49, only took about 4-5 bites and I was done. Next, the green goddess salad that was $9.29 (outrageous!) was disgusting. Immediately I took a bite that can only be described as tasting like a dirty dish towel smells. Something tasted spoiled. It was the worst salad I've had. I'm so upset, I will definitely never come back. For these prices, I'm at least expecting the food to taste good. read more

Panera is overpriced, yep. Is it good? Oh yea. Is $40 hard to swallow for 2 pick2 combos? Sure thing. But guess what? That fact doesn't change my rating here because ratings should be based on quality and taste. Steak sandwich w the horseradish sauce is great. Baja mac isn't bad but sometimes a little watery. If you look through the reviews, you'll see the good reviews come from outsiders who know the brand and quality and are prepared to pay for it. I'd like to say a place like this could survive in a place like El Centro, but I'd be kidding myself. The Valley will reject it for the same reason places like Chipotle and Sprouts won't come here. We stopped here on our drive from San Diego to Phoenix and were so impressed! The inside of the restaurant was nice and new and spotless. Bathrooms were clean. The ordering process was easy and went seamlessly. We took the food to the car to eat since it's still Covid and no one was eating in the restaurant. My husband said his sandwich was the best he's had-roasted turkey avocado. The kids raved about the baguette being the freshest they've had and loved their Mac and cheese and Caesar salad. Everything was accurate. What appeared to be the manager, a man, was running in and out with orders and was hustling. This is the place we'll stop every time.
