At this particular location of Panda Express in Ladera Ranch California I was third in line waiting to go to the counter to get my food and it took about a half an hour until it was our turn. The workers there were ignoring the customers when they asked a question and it took forever for them to take someone's order. It looked like they were going back and forth from the register to the counter and they were not doing anything for the customers they were minding their own business. The line was out the door almost into the street and the lady in front of me and I were raging together about how rude these workers were. Eventually they took my order and I got my food. For the service being so bad the food was really good. I would recommend calling ahead of time so when you get there your order is ready. This place is a ripoff! Do not come to this location. I was here yesterday at 12/5/16 at 5pm and was served by this Asian lady. Boy she was so stingy and rude. I ask her for all chow mein and she gave me a small portion and then proceeded to scoop back some noodles from my plate back into the bin. I ordered 3 items and got little scoops of each item, not even a whole scoop. I asked for a bit more and this lady stared me down and said, "what else do you want!" Just like I was trying to steal her first born. I requested they put my honey walnut in the box but she made the mistake and put it on the tray. She told me that they are not allowed to put food back in the tray. This is pure BS because you did it to about 5-7 strands of noodles just a minute earlier when you thought I got too much. Not sure why this lady was tripping, she even was hostile to a customer before me and refused to give her fresh orange chicken that was just made and gave her the leftover portion which was about 75% of a scoop. It's not hard to tell that they under scoop food here because they employees are stealing your portion so they can take it home without the district manager knowing what is going on. I can't recommend this particular location due to this. They must think everyone that lives in Ladera Ranch are idiots. read more

The staff are real friendly, they serve hearty portions, the line moves along fairly quickly when there is one and the dining room is very roomy and always clean. Don't go here late in the evening, they are NOT willing to make anything fresh for you, also some employees are super rude and drag the chairs across the floor making a very loud noise as you try to order. I get it you wanted me to leave, so you can go home early on a Tuesday. On top of everything they charge full price for left over scraps (meaning food that has been sitting under the heat lamps for a while), I should have just left when they refused to make me fresh food. First of all, I appreciate what Panda Express is...fast food Chinese. It doesn't try to be 5 star authentic Chinese food but still satisfies my Chinese food craving for a cheap price. The quality of of the food has always been fresh and very tasty at this particular location and most of their entrees are really good. Plus, every time I've eaten here, all the workers are extremely polite, friendly and helpful. I usually always go with the chow mein as a side instead of rice, simply because rice can't stay moist if it sits out. No matter how busy they are she is always helpful and works with a big genuine smile on her face. She makes us feel liked and it makes us want to come back. This place is getting worse and worse with their service. Today was the last straw! I'll take my business elsewhere. Ordered 3 meals- 2 with steak and shrimp. The portions are tiny bits of meat and lots of veggies. But you still pay a premium for any steak or shrimp dish. Ordered a kids meal for my child and they gave him 3 tiny bits of meat and the rest was broccoli. Well he loves the meat and hates the veggies. I usually take out the broccoli and have him eat the meat. Well this was ridiculous and when I asked for a little more meat for him I was told the kids meals are for only kids under 5. Since when? No exaggeration at all- I should of photographed his plate- a heap of rice and broccoli and 3 tiny slivers of meat. The lady was rude as can be- was older maybe even the franchisee. What a shame! First of all, I don't think I am being a culture snob when I point out the obvious and say that Panda Express isn't authentic Chinese food. It is a Chinese fusion created for American palate. Growing up with authentic Chinese food, flavor profile on all of their food item is nothing like what they eat in China. HOWEVER, food here is enjoyable in its own right. Not only they offer variety of menu items, but some healthier choice combination options as well. If I must speculate 1 reason behind their huge chain success, I would have to say it's the EXTREME convenience of having express Chinese (American..) meal that is relatively healthy and eclectic. Food at Panda is 3.5 star worthy at most, and 4~5 for convenience. So why 1 star at this location? Because it COMPLETELY lacks the merit of convenience that I pointed out above. I don't come to this location often as I usually get it at the MV mall food court or around my work up in Anaheim, so I have been here less than 5 times total for dinner togo. 5 out of 5 times the employees here took anywhere between 12~18 minutes to clear just 4 to 5 customers in front of me in the line. It was not that any item tray needed to be refilled. They were all perfectly set up, but all employees shifted around so unbelievably much after doing just one thing. For example, on a order of 2 combination plates, they would scoop and fill one box and then go talk to the cooking staff for a second or going to the cash register. 1) If each employee is to help 1 customer at a time from greeting to charging, then they need to find a way to rotate quicker OR 2) If they are streamlining and have clearly divided duties, they need to ensure there's no break in shift from side item (rice, noodle, broccoli) to main item (chicken, beef) to cashier. It is unbelievable how how much slower they are even compared to modular pizza, poki stores and even chipotle. it's funny because poki shops actually have 1 major step of mixing the fish with the sauce, yet they do it like 5 times quicker than morons at this location who can't even scoop stuff quick enough. This is by far the most idiotic Panda location I've been to. Other Panda locations deserve about 3 stars. read more

Absolutely terrible. Portion sizes are laughable. Filled out a survey for them that had the question "quality of ingredients" which I also found humorous. Primarily due to the fact that I had a conversation with an employee just now who stated that every dish - including white rice - has gluten in it because they use wheat-based starches and thickeners in all dishes... Which brings me to my next point: not a single gluten-free option. Aaaand they still have MSG... Which they say is naturally recurring in soy sauce.. this issue has happened more times than i can count. they tend to serve about a quarter the amount of food the plate/ bowl has to offer. it's almost 9 dollars for a plate and they serve about 4 dollars amount of food. these past couple times i've gone, the chow mein is not fully cooked. it has the same consistency if it was just taken out of the freezer and popped into hot water for about 1 minute. it's hard, and has as good as nothing of the seasoning/ sauce. again, as if they took it out of the frozen packet. lastly, the customer service is disgusting. they made us wait longer than it takes to order and receive the food. there is a young man that severs the food and he serves about 1 ounce of food. he made us wait so long without saying "i'll be right with y'all" "i'll just finish this order up and help y'all out" nothing. he just neglected us for at least 10 minutes. these are some pictures to show the little food they serve here. it's not worth anything and if they keep this up they're gonna lose more customers, y'all food isn't laced with gold, don't think y'all can act and serve crap. never going back. read more

The food is good... BUT out of so many Panda Express restaurants we've been to I'd have to rank this one the lowest. The reason why is this Panda location gives Really small portions. I've complained so many times and told the manager that other P Express restaurants give bigger portions.. but the complaints fall on deaf ears.
