The food was really tasty! I think a little too much oil was used for the dishes but I really enjoyed it regardless. the egg drop soup was not as salty as I'm used to which is honestly a nice change. The prices were pretty reasonable to me and considering the options in this area for Chinese food seem to be really bad, this was a really nice find. read more

Just ordered food from here for carry-out. Pork fried rice and pork chow mein. The pork fried rice was correct. Chow mein is a noodle dish, and whatever they sent had no noodles and looked like a soup with tiny strips of very cheap pork in it. It tasted like boiled onions and had about the same texture. Absolutely revolting. My father, who orders from here regularly, says that the food is very inconsistent. "It must depend on who's cooking." I've never ordered anything from here that was worth the money. And the place is very cheap. If you want Chinese, go to Leesburg or Maryland. Since Shu Chen's closed, there is no edible Chinese in Charles Town, Ranson, or Harpers Ferry. Go to Sumittra for Thai or get out of town. read more

We once enjoyed Panama Garden. Everything we received was excellent. However, a few weeks ago everyone in our household got food poisoning after eating sweet and sour chicken. I can confirm the chicken was cooked so it leads me to believe sanitation in the kitchen May be lacking. I called the health department and filed a complaint the next morning. read more

Just got back from Panda Garden and my food was delicious. I have not had a bad meal here in seven years. I always go with shrimp and blackbean sauce comes with some chunky onions and green peppers but that's to be expected. For you're looking for a big super fancy Chinese restaurant, this isn't it. It's cheap, it's simple, it's tasty, and in my opinion it's best Chinese takeout in the area. The inside doesn't look like much, just a couple of booths and a lot of plain walls. If you eat in, don't be surprised that you're eating on styrofoam plates and with throw away silverwear and chopsticks. Our favorite thing to do (for our family of four) is to order a couple of dishes and to share it. Some of our favorites are the Singapore rice noodles, chicken with broccoli, chicken with snow peas, General Tso's chicken, sweet & sour chicken, and dumplings. Of all the restaurants we found in Charles Town, we found this Chinese restaurant right in the middle of nowhere and the surprise part is the restaurant is absolutely very good! I had a shrimp dish lunch special that served with vegetable spring roll and hot and sour soup. Hubby had a shrimp dish in black bean sauce with mixed vegetable and he chose a wonton soup and some kind of crispy noodle which I thought was well made. That crispy noodle was one of the best parts of my lunch. My shrimp was freshly made and delicious. The black bean sauce that Hubby ordered was rich in taste but not overpowering so it had one of the best tastes. Kevin was our server. It's more like a self service type of restaurant but he's in charge of the cashier and took the order. He did a great job considering he's not Asian but understands some of the food prepared here. It's a big place located across from a farm. I'm not afraid to give them 5 stars because they really did a great job opening the restaurant here and beat some of the restaurants in NY and some others that we have tried. Keep it up! read more

This is the best Chinese Food in Charlestown WV. It's authentic and always delicious! The portion sizes are generous and the price is great! I got 1 entree, 2 egg rolls, 1 order of crab wontons (which comes with 10!) and steamed dumplings for only $25! They don't deliver which is the only downfall but it's worth it to stop by and pick it up! It only takes 10-15 minutes to prepare even when they're busy. Food was terrible. The best way to put this in perspective is that I would much rather drive to China King in Leesburg (40 to 45 minutes away) then have to eat at Panda Garden (3 minutes away). I thought it might be the dish and give them a pass but my wife got a different dish and that was terrible as well. It's good take out Chinese. I go there all the time, and haven't been disappointed yet. The General Tso could be spicier, as well as the orange chicken, but other than that it's a solid place to pick up a bite to eat. read more
