We had a fantastic meal here tonight! The place is welcoming from the moment you walk in; staff are attentive, the dining room is clean. It is a very beautiful atmosphere and well decorated. Our server greeted us right away with hot tea and explained a few items on the menu since it was our first time here. The menu was impressive. Plenty of options but not overwhelming either. We ended up splitting a "real California roll" (10/10), wonton soup (9/10), kung pao chicken (9/10), and lo mein (10/10). Service 100/10. Didn't catch her name but she was awesome and never let our drinks run dry. This was a huge upgrade compared to dining at the steakhouse the last time we came to Charlestown. I will give them another try one day but if you're between the two I would recommend going to 9 Dragons. This was the best meal we've had in a long time! read more

The sushi is good, honestly I was just going to get ikura because it's my favorite, but I love hamachi as well so I tried the crazy hamachi roll. It was ok, the hamachi/yellowtail was fresh and delicious. The seaweed was a bit gooey, and the furikake was a little overpowering the delicate fish I would forgo any of that, avocado would be better than the onions as well, they're slightly overpowering the fish. The mango was excellent actually, like a half a mango thrown in there, not easy to eat with the sushi itself because of the size it falls off I'd make sliced mango instead, maybe just wrap it in mango. I made my own wasabi honey to go with it. Was pretty good. I would definitely do the ikura again, honestly I would just eat a giant bowl of it if I could order it. . I would probably have gotten the negihama sashimi but I was hoping for a fusion of flavor with the hamachi roll, it's very delicate and buttery and I do think it could be done better but it was the best sushi Ive had around here. BLUF:. Tasty food, but in a noisy place Four of us went on a Friday evening. Started out with some steamed dumplings and crab Rangoon. Both very tasty. Then two pieces of tako (octopus) sushi. The octopus was good, but placed on a skimpy portion of rice and not assembled well. Fir enterees:. Mooshu pork, tasty. Shrimp Lo Mein, excellent. 9 Dragons seafood XO, also excellent. Cocktail with dinner was mediocre, tasted like a weak pour. Water glasses were never refilled. I'd go back if I was at the casino because the food is good. Today was our 4th visit to 9 Dragon at Hollywwod casino in Charles town. The service was excellant and the ambiance was great but the food was Par at best. I have complained about the food coming out cold before but it was ridiculous today. our food came out within 5 minutes of ordering ! The sweet and sour chicken was luke warm with sause dripped on the chicken and not mixed.The rice was cold. It is obvious that the food is pre-cooked and just warmed up. There is no way that the chicken could be fried and served and not be hot within 5 minutes of ordering. The rice is ofcourse served out of a steam table but it was not heated to the correct temperature. we were the first of two tables at 4:00 P.M. when the restaurant opened. The second dish of shrimp and broccoli had 6 shrimps but the broccoli was also luke warm and basically raw as if it was not sauteed properly. I hope that this issue is addressed quickly as improper heating of food is a health hazard. read more

I called around 430 and asked if I could make a reservation.They said they don't take reservations.I said okay.And I started to ask another question.And she just yelled don't take Reservations and hung up on me then We still went and ordered our meal that evening I got a tooth Spring roll appetizer.My wife and daughter got Dinners I got my appetizer after my wife. Amazing sushi! I just wish we didn't have to walk through the nasty smoke in the casino to get there. Recommended for sure - just don't go unless you 1. Smoke or 2. For dinner my hubby and I had broiled Chilean sea bass, Chinese broccoli with garlic sauce, and 5 Spice Beef Brisket with Tofu. Hot tea was complimentary and served in cast iron infuser teapot. The Chilean sea bass was my favorite among the 3 dishes we tried. It's tender and flaky with a light gingerly taste and subtle onion flavor combined with bright, crisp greenness from the scallions. Would not recommend this restaurant, next question you say ,why January 7, 2022 I went to the restaurant which I have previous won a gift card from golf tournament could be use at the restaurant. Soon I brought the gift card out the manager started acting funny, Would not ask me any question went and grabbed up the food manager security to tell me that the car was declined. The security manage to say to me you might have to go back to where you got it from and ask them why it was declined. But the problem I had is I couldn't see why the manager couldn't just could tell me that you didn't need to get the secured manager to do it ,to speak for your business. We ordered veggie spring rolls, general tso, and beef lo mein. Spring rolls came out hot and crispy, beef lo mein was not bland, and the general tso was crispy. They could have given a little more with general tso tho. For the price we paid, portion was kinda slipping there. Overall I would dine in again. I choose to eat at 9 dragons the first night there and was super impressed. I forgot to use the coupon but still very very worth it. I ordered the egg rolls, crab Rangoon, and seafood fried rice. The egg rolls were served stemming hot two to an order with sweet and sour / duck sauce and hot mustard. They were very generic nothing too special and to me personally not worth the price. I was surprised how hot it was and that they didn't serve cut down the middle. Careful so you do not burn your mouth, I will admit I did. The crab Rangoon was served with a different type of sweet and sauce type sauce. These tasted so amazing The cream cheese just literally melted in my mouth. The crab was flavorful but not overbearing. And as for the fried rice. Best seafood fried rice I have ever had in my life!!!!!!!!! It was perfectly cooked plump and not dry rice mixed with a light flavor almost a soy butter taste. All the seafood which I think was scallops, shrimp, and the crab was cooked to juicy perfection and not dry at all which tends to be the case in my experience of other seafood dishes. I was impressed with all the spicy sauces they offered as well to customize your dish. I made mine so spicy my nose wasted but it was very worth it. I was disappointed the alcohol service closed at 10 when the restaurant not until 11 pm. However, you can get drinks in the casino until 2 am I believe. Soon they will be transitioning to 24-hour beverage service I learned. The bill came out to about 27 dollars with 2 non-alcoholic drinks so not outrageously expensive either. Decided to go to dinner at the casino. Usually the food is good at casinos. Not this case. First, you have a long walk through the casino. The atmosphere is right in the middle of the casino, so you have the lovely background noise of all the bells and whistles while you eat. Our waitress was amazing! However, the food left much to be admired. We started with dumplings and crab ragoons. The dumplings had little flavor (which I can't figure out how you do that), and the crab ragoons were just cream cheese as far as I could tell. Our entries were selected by our waitress reccomends. Fillet mignon, BBQ pork and honey, and the sauted pea shoots. Again, not a lot of flavor, very oily, and very disappointing for the price. Food arrived hot. But for over $100 with no drinks for two, I expect a much more authentic Chinese meal. It's definitely not worth the money or the walk. read more

Sadly this one is inside of a casino so you cant take your minor children to it so it rarely gets frequented by us. The times we have gone the food, service, setting, variety have been consistent and good. It is a bit expensive for Chinese but with every other Chinese offering in town being TRASH its the best Charles Town has to offer in this department. Food cons- -Crispy fried pork chop (was expecting a crispy slightly battered, crispy chop as seen on pictures by other yelpers but what I got looked greasy and was soft- didn't taste too bad but not crispy at all). -Sea Urchin, also known as uni. I ordered the sushi version of this and got 3 pieces. The first one was good, the second one almost made me throw up so I had to spit it out and the 3rd was spat out as well after tasting bitterness too. This is a delicate food that needs to be fresh, and my guess is that it could have been fresher. -Overall a bit genereic. It would be nice to see some real authentic asian cuisine for once in this area. Service was okay. The manager came by and asked how our food was, so I shared the above with him. He offered to change a dishe or take something off the bill, which was polite but he tried to explain the process of making the not so crispy pork chop, and was saying that its not oily, but juicy. Either way you put it, it's not crispy and it's called crispy. To be a casino restaurant, this place is pretty impressive. The food smells AMAZING and draws you in. There's a decent sized bar area (which is where we typically sit) in the front and the service has always been great. They have various craft and IPA beers on draft and domestic bottles. The prices are consistent with what you'd expect at a casino - a little bit on the high side. But the portions are large and I feel that you get what you pay for. 2 adults could order an appetizer and one entree to split and be content. Their menu is extensive, with a variety of appetizers, various rolls, sushi and entrees. While there are other options in Charles Town, this is our preferred Asian cuisine restaurant. read more

We've eaten at 9 Dragons many many times since they opened and it was wonderful and we recommended it to many. This past weekend we went with friends for the first time as a group since they reopened, and we were shocked with the food. Our friends dishes seemed okay....the chicken with basil and some seafood dish with scallops and some XO sauce. My husband has had the singapore noodles probably 30x and this time they were just bad. Big chunks of egg, no server asked for a protein in them and he said the noodles were like sticky rice. I had Kung Pao chicken which was at least 1/4 or more peanuts just on top, the chicken had a texture feeling undercooked, there was no sauce and it seemed like dry spices were just thrown in and was like having sand on top. Since our friends we were treating seemed to like theirs and I was paying with comps, we said nothing, took our leftovers and threw them out in the woods for the wildlife. If this is the way it is going to be, we will never be back. read more

For a casino restaurant this place is wonderful. As a fan of final fantasy game series the restaurant reminds me of a quite save place after a long time out in the land. Surprisingly very good for a casino (read: for this casino). Sushi options are limited and on the pricey side ($9 per order of 2 pieces), but the size of each nigiri is comically large (think 3x the size of a normal cut of fish + normal portion of rice), and the quality is quite good -- the yellowtail belly is a must-order. The $28 jumbo prawns with chili and garlic is a five-star dish: 10 to 12 very good sized juicy shrimp, lightly fried with bunches of chili and garlic -- great to share. Conveniently located between poker & race track. Way better than anything on offer at the upstairs sports bar on the other side of the casino. read more
