The buffet at this restaurant is exceptional!!! There's a wide variety of foods to choose including shrimp. My favorite is the chicken on a stick, the garlic green beans, the variety of salads, the soups, the egg rolls. I haven't eaten anything that didn't taste delicious and there's so much more than I mentioned. The wait staff are very attentive and polite. I especially love ending my meal with pie and soft serve ice cream but my husband loves the variety of fruit, pastries, pudding, and the jello. We try to eat here every chance we get. read more

As l went to pay for my meal l spoke to the manager/ owner she told me l got there too late. We got there a little before 7pm they close at 9pm. She gave us a $5 discount slap in the face. Food was excellent. From newyork, for less than 13$ it's a bargain and it taste excellent. The place is spotless,including bathrooms and a great indoor atmosphere. They wait on you hand and foot. Only complaints, sometimes you need to heat things up with microwave, but only needed if you want piping hot food. Panda Garden is an excellent restaurant. Their staff is friendly and their buffet is always well stocked with great food. I love the wide variety of offerings. Eating here is a great experience. It is quiet and reserved but still kid friendly. My kids 12, 11, 10, and 8 all commented on how they loved it. My daughters love the orange chicken and my sons live the Sushi. California Rolls and Smoked Salmon rolls are a favorite. I love the Rangoon and Egg Rolls myself. On another note, being a spicy fan, I feel spicy dishes should be a little more spicy. Been here a few times but it has been a few years. A pretty large restaurant with plenty of seating and popular with locals as it seems have quite a few people here at peak times. The buffet is expansive with plenty of options for even the picky eaters. However I find most of the food over cooked, lacking flavor and pretty boring, especially the desserts and salad bar. The food tasted ok but items like the pot stickers were very hard a dry around the edges as if they had sat out awhile. The stuffed mushrooms had no flavor. This mid-morning, my family and I dined at the Panda Garden in the Shackleford Crossing Shopping center. I must say that the cleanliness of the restaurant was the only nice thing I have to say about my dinning experience. First, the staff was very friendly and the host that served us was very courteous. And came over the take away the plates that we had eaten on. If I had give the staff a rating, it would be 4 out of 5 stars. Second, the food. This where my dinning experience at Panda Garden was just awful. The food was very lukewarm. The only thing that I could eat was the Egg Drop Soup. And the only reason why I chose that because that was the only thing that was hot. I was surprised because when I remember when the couple years that Panda Garden open, it was a good establishment to dine out for Chinese food - buffet style. But now, again, I would not recommend anyone to go there. If I had to give the food a rating, I would give it 2 out of 5 stars. Third, maybe if Panda Garden had invest in a Hibachi Grill/Chefs like other Chinese buffet restaurants that I have dine out; my dinning experience would have been better. This is now my favorite Chinese buffet. I went for the dinner buffet, it's 11.50. I was told by staff that lunch is 8.50 for anyone wondering. This buffet has plenty of options to choose from. They also have sushi! Which I tried, it was very delicious. Everything I tried was good, except one little thing. I would recommend you try pepper steak, sushi, & the shrimp that are seasoned with something red! I've forgotten the names of everything I had. However, there is only one shrimp dish fitting that description. They have a nice selection of seafood for the seafood eater, nice selection of chicken, anything you could want. Ever left a Chinese buffet after paying 9-10 bucks for lunch but did even go back for more because the food is just "blah"? Go to Panda Garden, its a few dollars pricier than the average Chinese buffet (and not the most excellent service, but honestly Chinese buffet restaraunt service means drinks and the check). That being said, as far as the food goes this is the largest selection, best quality, and consistency you will find anywhere. They keep the food coming and I haven't had anything I didn't like. They have a lot of seafood options unlike some buffets, good salad buffet, and many soups. This is also the only buffet I would ever eat the sushi, there is always someone standing and making them fresh, the area is kept cold and clean. The food is decent but an event on our last visit caused us to think about ever going back. We ordered our drinks and went to the bar to get our food. We get back to our table, I took a drink of my Unsweetened Iced Tea only to discover they had given me Super Sweet Iced Tea. Not a real problem, it happens, it just turns my stomach when I drink to much sugar. I let the Waitress know she had given me the wrong Tea and she replaced it. The Waitress comes by, gets my glass to refill it and when I take a drink, surprise surprise, it is Sweet Tea AGAIN. I step up to the counter to let them know about the mess up, and am rudely informed that they will get me another glass. The Tea that came to my table had a bad Lemon slice in it but was unsweetened at least. When it came time to pay the ticket I asked that since they had given me the wrong Tea, twice, that I would like it removed from the ticket. You would have thought I had asked for the entire meal for free. The Waitress tried to blame it on me, saying I had ordered Sweet Tea and showed the ticket. I informed them that in 48 years I had never once ordered a Sweet Tea since it made me sick to drink it, so why would I after 48 years decide that I wanted to all the sudden order a Sweet Tea. After way to much arguing, they removed the Tea. I am not one that believes the customer is always right, but let us get real here. You do not argue with a customer over a Tea when it is real obvious that your person had made a mistake. I often get served a Sweet Tea by mistake, it is no big deal. I never ask for something free, but messing up twice, then trying to blame me, no freaking way. read more

I hadn't eaten much all day, so I wasn't too picky about my selections. On the plus side, it allowed me to try quite a few varying dishes. A family favorite due to its wonderful sushi and sashimi bar which features eel and cold seaweed salad. Personally, I go for the availability of fish and shrimp prepared several ways. Seating is at large 4-person tables in either a main dining area or two side rooms. The main room is so large that we seldom have anyone next to us when dining. The buffet is collocated in a nearby room with a sushi bar in the back, steam tables in the middle, and cold bars (desert, seafood, fruit) around the remaining walls. Entering the buffet through the left door, you'll find four pots of soup on your immediate right and a large rice cooker with plain steamed white rice. The first steam table holds fried foods like catfish, chicken, wontons, and tempura pork. The second steam table usually has a baked farm raised salmon and several chicken, beef and shrimp stir fry's. The third steam table has more stir frys and the few "vegetable" dishes. The fourth steam table includes hot seafoods and other hot American sides. As Thomas C. noted, the staff are wonderful and you can practice/ learn a bit of Chinese by asking. "Xie Xie" (shay-shay) is "thank you" and will get you a smile of surprise most visits. Chopsticks (Kuàizi) are located on the sushi bar. read more

Oh great Chinese buffet gods why have thou forsaken me? Reading the past reviews of this place, it seems that not too long ago it was a decent if not good establishment but that is no longer the case. The food was subpar at best. The establishment looks pretty good though but no one is going to a buffet for the decor. It's all about the food. The variety includes sushi, standard American-Chinese fair, and oddly enough prime rib for you to slice. The sushi is to be passed over as the rice used in it tastes quite old and off. Removing that it all tastes very bland and unappealing. Followed by the American-Chinese foods which range from a chicken & beef with broccoli mix to lo mein noodles. The best item I tasted was the chicken and beef with broccoli mix a simple dish that is hard to mess up. Everything else I tasted was either over cooked to mush or just lacking in all flavor. I feel like I'm starting to notice a trend here. Lastly, since I don't really do dessert I tried the prime rib. Please, don't try the prime rib. Over cooked to heck, dry, bland, tasteless and just neglected meat...I feel bad for the cow whose life was given for the daily slab. It's just not worth the chews or calories.
