I order on the phone and when i pick up my food, i can see the kitchen staff cooking with woks making the most delicious meals. their portions are hugeee. When their food is fresh it is amazingly delicious. I usually go for the salt and pepper chili chicken wings. Truly some of the best in town. My second go to is the chicken vegetable soup. These two things together are a meal that I enjoy time and time again. They have always been consistent and on time with takeout service. Someday I'd like to expand my exploration of the menu as well as actually eat at the restaurant so that I can change this four star to a five star. Food is awesome for Americanized Chinese. We always DoorDash it so it gets a bit pricey, but worth the fees if you order enough. Salt and pepper chicken wings are better than Royal Mandarin. So many things here I like I'll name a few. The garlic chicken on point, the garlic fried calimari was delicious & their Chicken Chop Suey is very good & well cooked. The chicken in Black Bean Sauce is my fav. On a cold day you should get their Sea Food Soup it's good & filling. The prices are very reasonable here & affordable. The orange chicken I'm not a big fan of, some people seem to like it but it's to sweet for me. The fried rice is ok, taste good when mix with other items. The place is usually always clean so that's good. Overall a good Chinese Food place. I will continue to come here for the good food. While driving to the Post Office in Oxford St. Chula Vista, there's a restaurant at the corner of 3rd Ave and Oxford St. The Panda Imperial. On our way back, since I've never been to this restaurant we decided to stop by and eat lunch here. We ordered the mixed vegetables with chicken and fish fillet with black bean sauce. I had my usual diet coke and our order was served in about 10 minutes. The fish (red snapper) literally swimming in its own sauce filled with onions, garlic and green pepper is so delicious. The savory fish almost melting inside your mouth. The chicken with vegetables is sauted in a mixture of carrots, brocolli, garlic and mushroom and bathe with a thick sauce. I loved it when the vegetables are cooked aldente. You can really taste its flavor. The staff here are friendly and know their menus. Parking here is not a problem. 4 stars read more

Let me start by saying that I've been here many times and really enjoyed their food in the past. However, over the last year I've noticed that I'm never happy with the food quality. Shrimp noodles are bland. The last three times that I've ordered orange chicken it is so dry, that my jaw actually gets tired from chewing. Today I ordered orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken and I wish I lived closer to the restaurant and it wasn't Friday night rush hour traffic so that I could just go take it back. I will NOT get food from there again. I can't spend over $60 for dried out food that only disappoints after you get home and are ready to eat. read more

This place has become my go to for Chinese. I grew up in the area and still remember when this chinese restaurant use to be a Wendy's! That was over 25 years ago! So I've been coming to this chinese restaurant for quite some time. My favorite dish here hands down is the kung pao chicken. What really makes this place stand out is the fact that it is jam packed with chicken more than vegetables! I've order it at other chinese restaurants and it comes out with big pieces of onions and peppers and less chicken. But not here! They are generous with their protein! My hubby loves their kung pao beef and fried rice. Their fried rice in my opinion is pretty decent and comes without veggies. I've had their wings as well and those can be a hit or miss. I've been coming to this place for years. They have great hours and are open on most holidays. Thwy use quality meats and products. I don't think I've ever ordered an item here that I didn't like. Their Salt & Pepper wings are absolutely delicious and they serve huge portions. Small Chinese food restaurant in Chula Vista. The food and service was ok. Came in and noticed 2 employees serving some dining customers. I sat myself down and a employee came by to provide a menu. Basic Chinese food items. I chose the Lunch special number 21. It included salted pepper chicken wings, soup, and rice. They provide some fried noodles to snack on while you wait for your food. It was lunch time but still not busy here. Food came out at a reasonable time. Employee just placed the food down with no interaction. Food was just OK. Really not much flavor in the chicken wings, the rice, and the soup. The lunch did its job by just filling me up. So many other Chinese restaurants with more quality food. Medium dining area. Looks like take out gets busy here. The employees seem busy and their is little to no interaction between employees and customers. We eat here all the time for large family gatherings and the food and service are always excellent. The value is amazing, the staff and owners are always attentive, polite, and make you feel like part of their family. About 2 weeks ago we ordered takeout for a family dinner and even for takeout, they took the time to come out and ask how each of our family members was doing. I don't think we've ever had a bad dish here, the salt & pepper chicken wings are great, the vegetable dishes are great, and the creamy walnut shrimp is excellent. Any of their noodle dishes are amazing, the entrees are great, in short -- everything here is good. As for the person that left a review about some sort of bug infestation, her story doesn't even make sense. She believes that some sort of bug that she googled survived boiling for 20 or so minutes when the rice was first cooked, then survived being fried at high heat in a commercial wok, then after being placed in her refrigerator overnight at 32-34 degrees it was still vivacious enough to biologically process her rice, multiply, and create webs? Then on top of that, the super moth was nowhere to be seen in the food source after spinning those webs and turning the rice into rice krispies? Where did they go? Gotta love Google which can make even the most uneducated people feel like they're research scientist geniuses. This place is a hidden gem. This review is mainly for their salt and pepper chicken wings which are the BEST. I have been eating here for years and have not had wings that can competed with these ones. If you want a large tray of delicious chicken wings for cheap that are ready quickly and on any day of the year (including Thanksgiving and Christmas) you must come here. There is no excuse for not having come here yet. As far as other aspects other people have complained about, I can't really relate. I normally exclusively come here for the wings and sometimes their sesame seed balls and I always do take out rather than dining in. BBQ Pork Fried Rice was exceptionally delicious, and Singapore Style Rice Noodles which tasted like curry for all you curry guru's. Personally not a big fan of curry, but willing to return to try other items on the menu. We are always on the hunt for great Chinese food, and finally decided to give Panda Imperial a try. We are so glad we did! First of all, they recently remodeled inside. It has a modern, clean vibe going on. We ordered two lunch specials. The almond chicken w/ fried rice, egg roll & egg drop soup, and the chicken egg foo yung. Both were very large portions, each was enough to feed two people. The almond chicken was very good and had a lot of chicken in it. The egg foo yung was two large pieces with the chicken and gravy in a separate bowl so you could assemble as you ate without making the entire dish soggy. This is a pretty good place to get some Chinese food. I've come here about a half a dozen times. My wife introduced me to this place before we were married. Food always taste fresh and they give a decent size amount. I think it's just slightly on the high side but it's not bad. It's located in a small shopping center that also has a Japanese restaurant here. They are right off of third Avenue and Oxford in Chula Vista. It will be really busy Monday through Friday between 4 PM and 7 PM. The least busiest day seems to be on Sundays late afternoon and early evening. The staff are not very friendly, they are all about business. But they are not rude either. They just don't smile and seem to care less if you come back because they got so much business. This is one of the better tasting Chinese restaurants I do come to though. Give it a try I'm sure you'll like it. read more
