A lot of new businesses have established themselves in the plaza since I last visited it a few years ago. I spotted Al Marwa Sunrise Supermarket and decided to check it out. Parking in front of the store is limited, as part of the parking lot had fencing. This store is next door to Popeyes. I managed to find a parking spot fairly close by. i backed my car into in and walked over. This grocery store is on the smaller side. I liked shopping here. It reminded me of being in Istanbul, frequenting a grocery store similar in size. I love kafta. This place had both chicken and beef varieties in the frozen section. The beef version is halal. I grabbed a box of chicken ones. I found bags of pitas by Bread and Salt. They were soft. I got a bag. It was wonderful seeing Turkish tea. I saw a bunch of sauces for kebabs, burgers, and more. The meat department has a lot of halal options. If you are pressed for time, you can get marinated meats for your kebab and cooking needs. This store doesn't have a ton of fresh produce. However, it had dried mango slices. I picked up a box. I found various seasonings, and flavour and colour enhancers for your food masterpieces. The kofte seasoning appealed to it. It was one of my favourite meals in Istanbul and I'd like to recreate that experience one of these days. I headed to the checkout area. The woman there was so nice. She saw my dried mango slices and asked if I had had them before. I hadn't, but they looked so good. She said that they got this shipment almost a week ago. I paid for my goods with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I placed my items in a reusable bag. I'm so glad that I grabbed one from my car. Otherwise, I would have carried them without one because I didn't want to buy a bag. I wished the woman a great day. She reciprocated. I headed to my car and continued running errands. The dried mango slices were delicious. They were naturally sweet and were easy to eat. Yummy and addictive! It was great discovering this gem of a grocery store. I hope to try the kafta soon. I'd also like to come back from baklava and more. (245)

They have a section where you can put your used shopping carts, presumably so they can clean them. ---------- The review below was written late 2018. In the evenings, they have discounted prepared food at 20% off. If the total is less than $4.00, the HST tax is only 5% instead of 13%. This is a mini version of the full size Galleria. They have all the departments of the big one including in-house food preparation, an area to eat, fresh groceries. They have the same Galleria points award system. This location, being downtown is a lot more convenient for me.

This was one of those days. My daughter had a craving for ho-fun (stir-fired rice noodle dish), so we opted to sample their beef option. The noodles were beautifully fried with great wok-hei and the velveted beef sliced were tender and easy to eat. The usual addition of green onion, bean sprouts and eggs made for a satisfying addition to our lunch. Overall flavour of the ho-fun was spot on and my daughter was happy. :) We'll be back to sample more of their abundant offerings soon!

Always love their hot food section, but recently I found that their home diffuser and skincare/ makeup section also has a large variety to choose from. After the event was over, I did some browsing around the supermarket before I left. It was my first time at any Galleria Supermarket. Think T&T Supermarket, but with Korean goods. I dig supermarkets and this one was cool. It's funny that I pass by the Galleria on Steeles Avenue West, just west of Yonge Street, every week after work. I've never gone in there, mainly because I'd have to do a left turn from Steeles Avenue West. When leaving this place, I'd need to do a left turn without a set of traffic lights. Otherwise, I'd have to do the around-the-block set of right turns. It's just seems so inconvenient. If I were heading westbound, I'd have better luck. I do like this Galleria. There was a lot of parking. I am also familiar with the area, with California Sandwiches around the corner. I saw massive tubs of kimchi. When you see so many varieties of kimchi and the vessels to have it ferment if you make your own, you know that you're in a good supermarket with everything that you need. I liked seeing travel utensil kits with chopsticks, spoons, and more. I got stuck in the housewares section, looking at plates, bowls, kettles, frying pans, rice cookers, and more. I love small appliances. It was so tough tearing myself out of this part of the store. I had a can of Sac Sac from the event. It had peeled grapes in it. It was so good that I know I'll return to this supermarket just for this product alone. So good! I frankly would like to live in this supermarket. It has heat-and-eat items. They were a bit pricy but it's invaluable to let people from Taiwan to feel the sense of reminiscence of hometown.
