Came in for some of Kevin's famous Taiyaki! The inside was very hustle and bustle. Super busy with lots of shoppers and patrons stopping to eat in the food court. We decided to take our Taiyaki to-go. After eating some let me just say they were fabulous! Gloriously crispy on the outside and buttery and custard-filled on the inside! Everything I could have wanted from Taiyaki! Can't wait to come back for some more.
There is an eating area inside Galleria where you can order authentic korean food for a very reasonable price. You order the food on the computer and you pick it up at the counter. Service is very fast. We got the gamjatang for 14.99 plus tax, it is very comparable to the one served at restaurants. We will definitely come back.
This is my fave Korean store (not that we have a lot of choice and other ones are not close by) but this galleria at Yorkmills by far is the best one. It's big. It's clean. They have hot food and bakery and small stalls of other offerings of ready made food like fresh tofu. And a big kimchi section. For the size they offer everything and staff is always helpful.
Eating out doesn't have to be expensive in Toronto if you're creative. Skip the 20%+ tips and grab Korean comfort food from this Galleria location. Not every location has a food court. The Thornhill location has a bigger food court. You order from a kiosk and pick up your order from a counter. You drop off your tray at a station similar to what you'd do at IKEA. There is free filtered water. I recommend the pork neck bone soup, as you get 4 pieces of pork bone instead of the usual 1 piece you'd get at a restaurant. It comes with complimentary kimchi. The bulgogi bibimbap comes with a complimentary miso soup and kimchi. My only gripe is that I wish the egg had a soft yolk as opposed to medium. I recommend getting the warm fried chicken legs rather than the cold ones from the end of day sale. You can bring any leftovers home to reheat in the air fryer. I recommend the kimbap from the end of day sale. Skip the triangle kimbap, as the rice was very hard. Next time I'd like to try the noodles with black bean sauce.
Great store for all your Korean groceries. The location is large, well stocked, clean and organized. The produce is pretty fresh, same with the meat and fish. A bit pricier than other grocery stores. They also have a prepared food section which serves Korean fried chicken, stews, rice bowls and more. They've also got a homemade soy milk and tofu stall in the back. I haven't tried their cooked food but the soy milk is excellent. Plenty of parking and staff are helpful and friendly.
I came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. They gave great options in the food court. I ordered the burdock Gimbap and spicy seafood noodle. The portions were huge and price is very reasonable. The mussels were not very fresh though. The soup base was good. It's great value if you're looking for a cheap lunch option.
Summary: High quality groceries at a higher price point. Unique and authentic Korean items. Great deals before close for prepared foods. We've been to this grocery store many, many times, even pre pandemic. Parking - more than adequate. Very clean store, very organized. Staff are all polite. There's a hot table during the day, a restaurant style area to order dishes and pre made food and sushi throughout the store. We often come here for pre made food or discounted sushi. On this occasion we ordered from their "restaurant" side: Jajyungmein - the noodles were pretty fresh. The sauce was okay but not bad for a grocery store. Pretty huge portion. The sweet and sour pork was really interesting. Essentially it's a pork chop that seems to be breaded in tapioca starch so it has a crunch similar to a Vietnamese spring roll with a clearer type of crunchy coating. The sweet and sour sauce was quite good - had pineapples, onions, carrots. This was probably our fav dish that we got. The pork bone soup was good but clearly grocery store quality. Flavor and spice were good but way too much oil. Meat was a bit mushy - probably over cooked? Price is definitely cheaper than a korean restaurant but still decently expensive.
The layout here is haphazard & cramped. H Mart is a much more pleasant Korean supermarket. They sell quite a lot of cooked food here - fried chicken, taiyaki, street food, bentos etc. And it's available both fresh & pre-cooked Korean, Japanese & Western ice cream are each in their own section. They sell loose Melona bars so you don't need to commit to a pack of 8. Also, they sell canned silkworm pupae here.
It was by accident that my sweetie found out about this Korean supermarket. She bought an expresso machine from someone that was moving and they met in the large parking lot to complete the transaction. Well, we are here today to see if the hype was warranted. It was a revealing, although brisk walk through the lifestyle goods, kitchen & housewares, small and a few large appliances, beer & wine, beauty, produce, seafood and meat department. I was impressed with the deli & ready meals area. Many items were 20-30% off (like the Hwanggane Black Dragon Roll) but fresh Canadian Atlantic Salmon skin was a bargain at 50% off since it was after 7 p.m. and approaching closing time. At checkout, cashier Julie K took the time to sign us up for Galleria's Rewards Program; shop/scan card/earn points on our $35 purchase. Many products are from Korea so you're getting the real deal. Other Asian supermarkets sell fake "Korean style" foods made in China. Excellent customer service. We will be back!
Love shopping here for fresh meats, vegetables and seafood! I've been going here for years and the quality is superior to any other supermarket I've encountered so far. I typically look out for the whole organic chicken which turns out sweeter whenever I make soup. I also look out for the short beef ribs (which fall off the bone so easily!) and salmon bones that go on sale sometimes. For the ready-to-eat food, the freshly made taiyaki is always good! Custard and red bean are solid flavours. Every visit I also grab their walnut cakes which are like two-bite cakes with not-too-sweet red bean filling inside. My grandpa loves these as it's simple and makes a great pair with tea for breakfast. After 7 pm, most of their ready-to-eat foods tend to go on sale for 20-30% off. The sashimi and sushi is included in this sale and I find that it still tastes quite fresh and tasty even though it's the end of the day. The green dragon roll and spicy salmon roll are must-trys! I've tried the Korean fried chicken and spicy noodle dishes before but it tasted pretty average to me so I haven't ordered it again. I stick to buying their fresh ingredients for homecooked meals but every now and then I'll go for the fresh desserts and sashimi. The price is higher than other Asian supermarkets but I think it's worth it for the quality you receive. Definitely come by here to check this market out if you're in the area!
Galleria Supermarket has always been a great place to shop for groceries, snacks, quality fruits, baked goods, produce and desserts. I forgot to mention that they carry good quality cookware. After doing some groceries, my guilty pleasure has been to get a freshly made Soybean Curd Gimbap in the grab-and-go section. read more
Tip: This store has many varieties of kimchi and ready-to-eat prepared meals. A recent Yelp event introduced me to Galleria Supermarket. After the event was over, I did some browsing around the supermarket before I left. It was my first time at any Galleria Supermarket. Think T&T Supermarket, but with Korean goods. I dig supermarkets and this one was cool. It's funny that I pass by the Galleria on Steeles Avenue West, just west of Yonge Street, every week after work. I've never gone in there, mainly because I'd have to do a left turn from Steeles Avenue West. When leaving this place, I'd need to do a left turn without a set of traffic lights. Otherwise, I'd have to do the around-the-block set of right turns. It's just seems so inconvenient. If I were heading westbound, I'd have better luck. I do like this Galleria. There was a lot of parking. I am also familiar with the area, with California Sandwiches around the corner. I saw massive tubs of kimchi. When you see so many varieties of kimchi and the vessels to have it ferment if you make your own, you know that you're in a good supermarket with everything that you need. I liked seeing travel utensil kits with chopsticks, spoons, and more. I got stuck in the housewares section, looking at plates, bowls, kettles, frying pans, rice cookers, and more. I love small appliances. It was so tough tearing myself out of this part of the store. I had a can of Sac Sac from the event. It had peeled grapes in it. It was so good that I know I'll return to this supermarket just for this product alone. So good! I frankly would like to live in this supermarket. It has heat-and-eat items. There's also a food court that I need to explore. It's a huge store! I loved everything that I saw. I'll be back to buy and be broke afterwards. (447) read more
Came this morning to window shop and was so pleasantly surprised we canceled our original lunch order and stayed to eat. They had so many tasting stations and I tried persimmon before it got soft for the first time and really enjoyed it. We also found some spicy raw crabs, which were very reasonably priced and tasty. They also had sashimi grade frozen hamachi which could be thawed and immediately eaten. All the station ladies were really friendly and it wasn't crowded with K-pop playing. Food court lunch hits the spot! Ordered a bibimbap and seafood udon. Bibimbap never misses. The broth of the seafood noodles was tasty. Very generous portions for the price but the clams were not as fresh as hoped. Still, really happy with this quick, casual lunch. read more

Another great Korean grocery store! It has a lot of mini subsections in it including food court with a very popular fried chicken joint plus area with seating, hot food to go stations, beauty counter, etc. We went at night, not too long from closing time so the end of day discounts were out. These were on things like sushi and bakery goods. If you're a fan of Korean popular culture, there were some branded items like Blackpink vitamins and movie star endorsed seaweed packages and drinks. A few other goodies that I noticed were conveniently cut up jackfruit and cotton candy grapes! read more
Originally we went to Galleria to buy groceries, but we found out that they had a food court. We were blown away with their prices and quality. We also found some gimbap on sale (20% off) because it was the end of the day. FYI, the food court closes at 8pm - but the grocery store itself closes a bit later. Would recommend to eat before shopping! read more

There is a hot bar that serves a variety of hot Korean food and a cold bar that serves a variety of cold Korean and western side dishes. You can grab a food tray and pile on whatever food you want to try. When we are at the store, each pound of food is 5.99 which is marked as sale from regular price 6.99 per pound. Other than the fact that fried chicken strip is cold, everything about the hot bar is great! There's beef bulgogi, braised pork belly, japchae korean glass noodle, fried rice, etc. What a great place for a quick lunch! The food court is pretty full for a Monday lunch! read more
We heard that this is the biggest Galleria in the area, so we decided to check it out. They have a bunch of little shops within this Galleria including a food court, bakery, cosmetics shop, health shop, and clothes shop. There is also a salad bar-type set up where you can put pre-made food and buy it by weight. In terms of food, they have pretty much everything including Daiso stuff. But make sure you bring your own shopping bags! read more

I was not too impressed with the Galleria Supermarket Thornhill location but after visiting their York Mills location I am a FAN!! This place is not easy to find especially on a snowy evening.. There are no signage at all on York Mills.. the only reason I turning into this No Exit road because my GPS was telling me that it is on the left... I almost park and went inside Dragon Pearl Buffet... but I was amazed to see this huge parking lot around the corner where Galleria front door is!! Galleria as a Korean supermarket does have good selections of Korean and Japanese groceries and dry good. When walking around, I do have a sense that I am not in Toronto but somewhere in Seoul... since a lot of the Korean products has only Korean wording on the package.. looking at the design and picture of the package did make it a fun shopping experience. Love the Fresh Seafood department: half shelled oysters, cherrystone clams, squids, Norway salted Mackerel and even a whole Salmon head! The package sashimi graded raw fish is all nicely packed! (much much better quality than what they have at T&T!) Love the Cafeteria part and cooked food area: Fish cakes, packaged banchens, sushi and self served lunch box (don't load up your lunch box since it is based on weight!) and of course the made to order food. I could not resist to check out what the pretty Cashier (yes she was there and she was really nice but not my type!) and the kick ass Spicy Seafood Soup (yes it is spicy, made my tummy nice and warm spicy!) and the Corn Silk drink is nice and refreshing to balanced out the spiciness! Damn I drank the soup too! The Made to Order Korean Fried Chicken I ordered was not bad. Since they are double fried so extra crispy. But definitely not worth the wait of 30 minute! If you still hungry, there are free sampling of food everywhere! Nothing beats having a free sample of a few walnut cakes (3 of those I ate) as dessert to finish off my Korean adventure! Or will I been in trouble if I park myself on the numerous bench and use their free wifi for hours while eating my packaged Sashimi next time? read more

Love this place, mommy's fried chicken (buy 10 get one free), fresh fruits (sometimes with good price too) and meat. I always buy cakes and bread from their bakery. But the dried goods tasted so weird, I bought the dried veg chips, waste of 6 bucks there--Don't bother! read more

I've been to this Galleria plenty of times for groceries and takeout food, but just tried Mom's Fried Chicken and decided to put up a review. The overall grocery store is well stocked, clean, and products are pretty fresh. The price of the meat and fish are on the higher end but the quality is higher as well. Whenever i make beef bulgogi i pick up my beef from here. As for the takeout/eatery area, they have plenty of goodies to choose from. During the day they also serve taiyaki (korean fish cake with red bean filling). If you miss out on the fresh made one, they also have packaged ones but definitely not as good. We ended up ordering combo A from Mom's Fried chicken which includes 1/2 plain fried and 1/2 seasoned. Hard to choose which one i like better since they are both yummy. The difference between korean fried chicken and american style fried chicken is the amount of fatty grease and salt. Korean fried chicken is nice and crispy without dripping in grease and not as salty. The saucy seasoned fried chicken stays crispy and its a nice sweet chili sauce. If you go after 7:30pm most of the ready-to-go food is marked down by 20-30%. And the portions are a good size for the price. read more
For lunch and ate the pork bone soup and spicy Seafood noodle soup. Quite standard fare for Korean cuisine in a food court setting. Food was very fresh and very hot. There was also self serve kimchi radish and bean sprouts available. Bones in the pork bone soup was very tender and fall off the bone. Soup was not that salty or spicy. In the spicy Seafood noodle soup there was a lot of seafood inside. Noodles were very chewy. For what you pay you got quite a lot of food and he can feed three people. read more
This place is amazing! After spending several days in the city, it was great to find this place! It's in the suburbs, so no need to pay for parking (; I enjoyed the custard korean japanese crispy waffle but did not like the green bean one. On monday, they have $4.99 for one lb of their lunch buffet, I got an arrangement of things like seaweed salad, potato salad, sweet & sour pork, sweet & sour chicken, and the Japchae. I enjoyed the potato salad and japchae most. My boyfriend got the pork bone soup. It was fall off the bone good. It was delicious! I also ordered the 6 piece sashimi for only $6.48 and the tuna kimbob. I recommend it all!! Go try this place! Do not buy the groceries. Super expensive. read more

I absolutely love Galleria!!! Especially when their sushi and food are discounted after 7pm!!! Whooot!! I love me some sushi! The employees are very friendly; I don't think I ever had a bad customer experience at Galleria before. The food is very fresh as well as its produce... although it is on the pricier side. They also have a points card so you could collect points on every dollar you spend--at least it makes you feel better when you spend a bit more than you expected. Highly recommend this location! read more

Food here is fresh, delicious and cheap. Even for someone as picky and indecisive as me, I always had no problem of finding something new to try. There's a bakery on the side in case you crave something sweet and small which is perfect for a light breakfast or afternoon tea! The buffet station has all your Korean staple side + main dishes. You can easily create a perfect meal by adding a side of miso soup, (multigrain, brown or white) rice, or hot drink. There's also the option of ordering your ready to be made Korean or Chinese-Korean dishes like bibimbap, soon tofu, noodle in black bean sauce at the cash register. They give u this device that vibrates and flashes whenever your order is ready. Did I tell u they also have fresh sashimi and sushi to go? So far I've tried the bone marrow soup, soon tofu, sashimi salad and create my own lunch box - everything tasted delicious! The best part? Averaging only about 7 dollars each meal! Don't forget to stop by the waffle station to pick up the some amazing Japanese Korean waffle fish! They were crunchy and piping hot - I haven't been able to leave without picking at least a box of 4 each time. I will definitely be back for my Korean fix on our annual Toronto visit. read more
This is a great Korean supermarket. I've been here before a few times, mainly for food, but today we walked through all of the aisles. The produce is fresh and there is a wide variety of Korean home and food products. They have really great selections of kimchi, fresh beef, fish, sushi and prepared foods. Mom's fried chicken is a must try. They also have a bulk food counter where you can purchase prepared dishes, charged by weight. There are tables at the west end of the supermarket where you can eat purchased food. You can order a variety of freshly prepared Korean dishes. Today we ordered Gamjatang (pork bone soup), Jajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodles) and Udon soup noodles with fish cakes. All dishes were good and very flavourful. read more

This review only pertains to the Food Court section of the store. My star rating will be closer to 2 1/2*. I have eaten in this place a few times but I'm noticing that the quality of the dishes has been getting worse. Bear in mind that this place was never a fine dining option but it used to be a great alternative to do your grocery shopping while also getting a decent meal. I don't think that's no longer the case. You have 3 dining options: prepackaged food, hot and cold ready to eat options and in store Korean restaurant. I always choose option to order from the Korean restaurant. There are some good dishes like the Spicy Pork Dupbap and Bulgogi Dupbap. The Pork Bone Stew is decent. However, stay away from their jjampong (Spicy Seafood Noodles) and jajangmyeong (Black Bean Noodles). Also some of their stews like their yukgaejang is not prepared properly. If you are shopping, get hungry and don't want to go anywhere else then there are some decent options available however if you want good Korean food, go somewhere else. Also please do not choose this place if it's the first time trying out Korean food, it might ruin you. read more
