Twice my elderly parents took their rug to Pande Cameron. Twice they got absolutely terrible service. The first time, the woman helping us sneered at our rug, she didn't care for the colors. We thought maybe that was an anomaly, we went back years later and she was still there and even more nasty--if possible. My grandmother went to Persia, had the rug made in the early fifties and it was a treasure in our family. The woman was abrasive to my parents who were in their seventies and eighties. I was there and she was excessively nasty and derisive about the rug and the region it came from ( we later sold the rug at auction for more than $50,000). Confirmed by others, this business is rude and I venture to even say crude as reasonable customer relations would never allow you to treat someone so disrespectfully. On top of that, their service was not that good. We won't be back! read more

Why so rude? The guy - the son's owner - who helped me was SO rude. First he completely ignored me for the first 5 minutes I was there, then he was rude and then he completely ignored the next customer that came in - finally saying oh you aren't with each other. WHAT? He actually said to me at one point - well you didn't buy this rug here. Seriously?.The customer service is truly appalling. They didn't call when they said they would to tell me carpets were ready for pickup and I left wondering why I was giving them my business. I know that they are good at carpet cleaning - but seriously... what is up with the attitude... not worth the money. Bad Customer service will never get anyone anywhere. In this instance, I called the Bellevue Pande Cameron. When asking about a rug I inheirited, a haughty young man told me my rug was very common. Funny, my next call was to a well known auction house in New York and they took it. Years ago, I had a series of rugs belonging to the same group cleaned and I remember them remarking about the rugs. The haughty young man could have said a million things other than your rug is very common-not too common for a well known firm. He didn't have to be condescending and nasty-but he was. What about the other rugs in the household? Why lose all customer possibilities by your need to be superior? Take heed-reckless haughty behavior is not rewarded. read more

Rug shopping should be very simple, but going here makes it very difficult. The service was horrible, extremely rude employees who seem to not make any effort to help elderly people purchase items. I would never recommend this place to anyone, I ended up walking out and finding what I needed elsewhere (Palace) at a much better price from helpful and friendly employees. I recently had a large handmade rug cleaned by Pande Cameron and they did an excellent job--my rug looks like new! Everything went very smoothly and I highly recommend their service. I can also recommend them for rug purchases. Several years ago, I was looking for a tribal rug and found they had a great selection at reasonable prices and in my experience, the owner, Brad was patient and helpful. I made an appointment for PandeCameron to pick up,clean and re install a stair runner.On 2/19/18, the owner Brad Andonian did not show for the scheduled appt.He did not call me.I reached him 5 hours later.He was not apologetic.He said he was busy.We rescheduled for 2/20/18.He picked up the rug. 2/23 a worker came to re install the rug.Before ringing the bell he tried opening the door, which was odd and scary.He was combative, argumentative and yelled at me many times while laying the rug.He installed the rug upside down, which causes stripes of wear to show because it should go the other direction.It is crooked.He yelled at me 3 or 4 times that it was not and to get a tape measure.When I got a tape measure it proved I was correct and the rug was crooked.He pulled some up from the bottom and straigtened some of the stairs,but over half is still crooked.The rug bubbles, it is loose at top and bottom. There is a hole in it now at the top edge which should be at the bottom stair.It is a terrible job.The bottom edge touches the floor and will get wet when the floor is mopped.I was afraid of this man.When he left, I called Brad. 2/26/18, Brad came. On the phone he told me the rug was upside down. In person, he said the worker did it correctly. His worker denied trying to open my front door without ringing the bell and denied yelling at me.I told him I did not want that worker in my house ever again.Brad made an appointment to come reinstall the carpet himself on 3/9/18.He never showed up.He did not call.3/13/18 Brad left a message on my phone saying he would not reinstall my rug until I paid the bill.I called him back and said I wouldn't pay until the job was done. He would not tell me why he made an appt. with me to re install and then did not show up or why he changed his terms.Because I have integrity, I sent a check for the cleaning but not for the install charge. Brad has not contacted me to finish the job.He bullied me.He never would have treated a man in this manner. Last week I had an installer from Emmanuel's Rug cleaning come out and reinstall my stair runner. He did a beautiful job. It did cost me over $400.00, to correct the horrible job that Pande Cameron did. The installer was respectful, professional, and exacting in his work. He told me that the runner should have been cleaned in place, and would have only cost $140.00, to do so. He said removing the carpet causes damage to the ends which were apparent as there were holes after Pande Camerin ripped it off the stairs. Any professional cleaner has the equipment to clean a stair runner properly in place. Pande Cameron told me they HAD to remove it to clean it. This was a bold face lie! They also charged me $100. more than Emmanuel's would have. I rate my experience with Pande Cameron, as the worst retail experience, of my life time. read more

We bought our first Persian carpet from Pande Cameron in 1981 and it still looks great in our living room after 30+ years, three kids, three cats, and a number of glasses of spilled wine. I knew next to nothing about quality carpets when I bought my first one, but I knew that Pande Cameron had been around for decades in Seattle and had a good reputation, and, after checking out a number of carpet dealers around Seattle, it was the one I felt was most reliable. The latest purchases we made from Pande Cameron were this year (2014) when we bought a new Indian carpet and an antique tribal carpet. We actually wanted just one rug, but, after several visits to the store, and borrowing several carpets to take home and live with for a few days, we decided we wanted two. Brad Andonian, the third generation of this family business that was started in 1924, was easy to deal with, generous with his time, and not pushy. He talked knowledgeably about the qualities of all the rugs we were considering, was reasonable on pricing, and is simply a nice, ethical guy. He prices their rugs fairly and -- unlike some other companies -- they don't have phony sales where hugely inflated prices are marked down by huge amounts to give you the illusion that you are getting an amazing deal. I also have had my carpets cleaned by them several times: they know what they are doing and they are competitively priced. The last time I had a carpet cleaned, I checked out several other companies, but I just didn't think they had the experience of Pande Cameron, and I was not convinced that their techniques were as good or as safe as the old-fashioned methods used by them. There are a lot of commercial goods I can easily evaluate and buy without anybody's help. However, even though I know a bit more about carpets that I did 30 years ago, it's the type of market where my knowledge will never match the seller's, and where Consumer Reports is of no help. When buying a rug, I want to be 100% sure that I trust the seller, and that's one of the reasons I continue to do business with Pande Cameron. read more
