Everything we ate in Milan was amazing. This one was good, but a slight bit under other experiences, and the portions were small, hence the 4 stars rating instead of 5. The lobster spaghetti was delicious, the reginette pasta with saffron was very aromatic, and the orecchiette pasta surprisingly spicy; very strong on pepper. Service was super friendly. Kind of screwed over me and my friend by charging us $14 EACH for grappa without telling us what the price was when we asked aboutil it. The waiter told me as I was leaving "I hope you won't leave us a bad review" and I'm like bro you just screwed us both so....yeah bad review incoming. He's making the claim he had the right to charge us this this because it "wasn't on the menu" and I'm like well if it's not on the menu then maybe don't f****** serve it or tell us how much it costs. I pointed out to this asshat at the time, too, that he didn't tell us that it was going to be that much, which is AT THE LEAST a courtesy. I don't think my friend could afford it, but I could, and that's pretty unfortunate considering that he really screwed us over, and I did not expect to spend $60 on dinner tonight for 3 glasses of wine and a pizza with a TINY glass of grappa at the end. If you must stop, only for glass of wine or 2, but don't do anything more because apparently you will definitely get FUCKED on the bill, so definitely make sure you read your bill before you leave too.... You know what, in hindsight I just wouldn't come here. But I didn't get dessert that probably would of cost me $20 more. Luxury dining prices with McDonald's quality, shame because the evening started out so promising, but the female bartender left and that made it a man's world with single female diners. Poor dude is just sad to be going home alone after he heard I was single. Enjoy your blue-balls asshole, you can use the money you charged us, probably as a tip, to buy some smokes once you're done with your right hand. And yeah, here's my negative review you cheap SOB. Damn if you weren't the worst waiter in my 7 weeks of vacation. Enjoy and by the way congratulations because you're the first waiter in 7 weeks that has actually charged me for grappa. Everyone else has just been excited to share their culture but you saw dollar signs. What goes around comes around, son. At least I'm not you. Also, as an American, I still tip for good service. You could've gotten an honest tip, but you're just a douchebag who couldn't give two girls the heads up that you were going to charge us the equivalent of a cocktail for what was basically a shot. The sole reason I ate here was that I was in a rush with my train leaving in 45 mins and super hungry and this was the closest thing. Going against my better judgement, the tourist menus outside in both english and italian, I proceeded inside. The staff were alright, not the friendliest. Prices were a little high and the food was alright. A 3 star in my book and a little surprising given all my filters were against. However and why the loss of one star, is the 3 euros service charge they slap on your bill. Highway robbery! Fighting the urge to give one star. Heads up before going in here. We came here for lunch and it was a disappointment. While the food is average, the rude service and the unreasonably high price spoil everything We were served by three different waiters (which is already kind of irritating), and all of them looked almost annoyed when we asked for a list of available beers. We also asked whether they had different salads other than the few ones on the menu, and the waiter cut us short saying they had "normal ones", without further explanation. Not exactly the kind of service you would expect when paying 56 euros (!) for a caesar salad, a tartare and two beers. Stay away. read more

This past May we stumbled on this place as we were looking for the piece of the Roman gate (i.e., porta) that was still standing... Man, what a place! The atmosphere and setting was spectacular - we ate outside overlooking a portion of the gate. The food was excellent and the service was exception. There was one young man - I hate that I didn't catch his name - that showed us the various levels and literally got to see the very bottom of the gate to the very top of the ruins. Excellent customer service, though i dined at noon over the winter holidays when many businesses are dead, so it wasn't super full. Customer service highlights include a complimentary glass of prosecco and a D-Licious tasting appetizer (prosciutto over a perhaps-mild-cheese-filled puff ball). I ordered caprese salad, a single fried scallop, and a house red wine. Nothing special in the flavors of what i ordered, though i found the scallop to be creative in presentation and preparation style. €20-25 not including my american tipping habit. Nice old fashioned restaurant. Menu is on display with a couple of good vegan options. The pizza is also great. Went as a couple twice, both times were given a complimentary drink and appetizer. Great bread too, and excellent customer service. Ordered a coke and they gave me a nice wine glass with ice and lemon to make it delicious. Prices are about 10-25 euros per dish, and a 3 euro service charge. Menu is small but I recommend this place for its charm. read more

Great happy hour. Nice restaurant with mix of locals and tourists. The veal cutlet was huge and perfectly cooked. Risotto Milanese was good but reminded me of Mahatma rice packets. A little pricier and better presentation than your average tourist restaurant. read more
