The customer service in the morning is disgustingly horrible. Well not everyone but the young lady at the register when they first open is rude, at first I thought it was because she was pregnant, well that was now the case. She's just a moody individual with a funky attitude. If you work in customer service you need to be more courteous. So I will be reporting you to corporate since it continues to happen and I know it's not just me. In fact my mother and husband have the same experience. This location has also changed the time they open and expect customers to see it even though the doors are unlocked and you can enter prior to 7. When Covid first happened they switched to 7 however, when the numbers lowered they changed to 6:30. Well today I found out they're back to 7. How did I find out oh by the young speaking rudely to me as I'm near the register saying "we're not open, the sign is on the door. So I responded by walking out and saying "well the door is open and you need to learn how to talk to people". Im not sure what restaurant open the doors for customers to come in when they're not open and if it's by accident you speak to someone respectfully. The thing about Panera and chains like it is there is supposed to be consistency. I had a breakfast sandwich from Panera a few weeks ago that I enjoyed so I decided to try it again. Today no one is paying attention and they're doing whatever they want. I had to ask them to redo my sandwich and it was still wrong. When you order they ask if you want your egg scrambled or over easy. I like over easy and also asked for a dark toasted bagel. I probably would have let is slide if it was only the bagel but the bagel wasn't toasted dark twice and the egg yolk wasn't over easy and runny, it was hard yolk. No consistency here. Certainly a step up from burgers and fries and it is by no means fast food since orders are made fresh. Wait time depends on the order, mine took no longer than 5 or 6 minutes. The turkey and bacon half sandwich was a delight. The Greek salad was slightly more vinegary than I like, but the crumbled feta cheese made up for it in both quality and flavor. This Panera was dirty and smelled bad. The table we sat at that could fit our party was was so dirty and gross. I couldn't find an employee nearby to ask them to clean it so I decided to use napkins. Turns out they ran out of napkins. I asked an employee in the back of the restaurant if someone can clean our table or give me napkins so that I can clean it, and her response was "That's not my responsibility. You need to ask the cashier." So I waited in line and asked the cashier and they sent someone who started cleaning every other table except ours. We got his attention and told him that we had requested our table to be cleaned. He muttered pleasantly, "This isn't my job... I'm the cashier." The management needs to address the issue of cleanliness at this branch and encourage their employees to work as a team when serving the customer. So disappointed with my experience at this location today. I went for breakfast and ordered two oatmeals, one customized (strawberry pecan without pecans and subbing blueberries) and one apple chip pecan. The first was made correctly but the fruit was not very good. However, instead of the apple chip pecan, I received another strawberry pecan without customization. I told the lady it wasn't what I ordered but she insisted the computer showed otherwise. I had to show her the receipt since she clearly wasn't reading it correctly. I don't understand why it was so difficult to prepare two simple items, especially when it was not a busy time. The apple chips were okay but the oatmeal turned cold quickly and was not very good even though I enjoyed it last time I was here. I think I got shorted on the oatmeal too. The tables were mostly filthy and really need better taking care of. I finally found a clean table but I still had to wipe crumbs off the chair. I came here with my boyfriend and his parents while we were around Bayside for lunch. This Panera is definitely a lot cleaner, spacious, and comfortable than the one I used to go to near my old office in Downtown Brooklyn. This location is definitely a lot more family friendly and customer service is good. I tried the Spicy Thai salad with chicken and it was pretty good, but a kick to it from the chili vinaigrette. My boyfriend had the French Onion soup and it was alright, but not the best. A little too salty in my opinion and not enough cheese. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch here. It definitely gets crowded here on the weekends. Worst grilled in cheese I have ever seen and tasted in my life. Their grilled cheese literally just a crap load of cheese slices in a flat bread and pressed for like 2 seconds. The outer part of the bread has the burnt press marks while the inside of the sandwich and cheese remains cold. It's the most pathetic attempt of making a "grilled" cheese sandwich. Hands down the dumbest and worst tasting grilled cheese sandwich ever! After a having a bite of that crappy ass grilled cheese sandwich, I also had a broccoli cheddar soup. I feel like I got scammed after seeing the actual sandwiches. The Panera Bread at Bay Terrace is always full of people. Everyone in Bay Terrace and its surrounding areas loves Panera Bread. Like seriously. This place is constantly packed with high school kids, college kids on break, couples, singles, families, working people, unemployed people and senior citizens. Though to be honest, I am guilty of doing that as well... I like to come here for the free wifi (though it can be very slow sometimes) and the yummy food. My favorites are the Chipotle Chicken sandwich and the Asian Sesame Chicken salad. I love the chunk of warm French baguette that comes with your meal! It's so comforting. I always get the "You pick two" combo of soup and a sandwich or a sandwich and salad or soup and salad. The choices are endless! But I usually get the same thing whenever I come here because I am boring. The staff is nice enough, though there are few cashiers who aren't as friendly. I have been so bakeries and some fast chain stores that don't apologize for anything with a resting bitch face. I went on a Sunday with a friend to study and sat at one of the booths only to be told by someone who I presume was a manager to move, that the seats were reserved for groups during their busier hours. When I told the manager that we would get food, I was then told it doesn't matter, the booth is for larger groups. The sign on the wall by the booth clearly says booth reserved for a minimum of two during peak hours. Last I checked, me + friend = two people. Great little spot. The board gamers were a little strange but I guess this is the food equivalent of a Starbucks. People apparently come here to eat and hang out. From battleship to magic card games, you will likely sit next to some gaming group.
