Terrible! Didn't get the dressing that i ordered and everything that I clearly marked as "no" were still in my salad. It's like they simply just don't care. So after a long weekend with not the usual healthy fare (when in Rome) stopped on way back from Paso to the The Bay Area. Im on a restricted diet, so got the warm grain bowl (GF) and didn't notice that it's got quite a bit of hummus and tahini on it- I did notice yogurt and asked for it to be omitted. When I saw the finished bowl with added condiments, i only showed displeasure. Rodolfo, the manger sensed this and immediately offered to remake it....and it was the height of lunch rush. This is location is ok and I say this statement "loosely". The couple of times I've had a meal -dine in, I couldn't find a table that wasn't sticky, especially the booths. I've witnessed co-workers complaining to other or about other co-workers, and the customer service is scrambled with only one person manning a register - this is every time I go to this location. I am beyond disgusted by the level of disrespect and rudeness I experienced while in the store. Honestly we went in there to get our pick up order from the shelf we got it and asked politely you know about the sodas that we added to a receipt because there's no option to select fountain drinks on the menu so we out of them in the special instructions hoping that they were just add them to the order or charges separately whatever it may be but we asked for two sodas please do sprites. The driver said he never got one from them and the delivery slip shows "order modified" and the smoothie is not checked like the rest of the order. I called and got this arrogant chicky poo who called herself manager on the phone and laughed when I told her that I want my money back for the not delivered smoothie - they are expensive. She blamed it on the driver but this is now the third time they are doing this to us and we had different drivers. The staff especially the manager are either thieves or complete morons. My family and I, enjoy coming to Panera for breakfast. Usually, the food is amazing and worth the wait. However, the 1st time I tried their online ordering, there was a mistake with my order and it could have been easily prevented. Once I ordered, I showed up at the allotted time and picked up my order with no issues or wait (I had paid online). I ran out to my car (no one called out, tried to warn me or even looked my way) and after starting it, had a bad feeling and decided to check the contents of the food bags only to find that I was missing a salad. I went back in to find that they didn't have the salad mix I had requested so they had not made the salad (not even a note on my food bag to warn me). The salads are usually overdressed and sometimes the sandwiches are greasy (if you get paninis). The prices are like Corner Bakery prices. The breakfast is blah, though. The breakfast sandwich was pathetically puny for $4. Totally tiny. I just wish they had healthier options. Everything sounds healthy but then I find it too sweet/greasy/salty/creamy. Gilroy is not overflowing with healthy lunch options and since I'm "trying" to eat better I tend to come here when I forget to pack a lunch. I really like the shrimp salad sandwich when it's in season and the chicken apple salad sandwich is pretty good too. The soups tend to be a little salty for me or to creamy? Maybe I'm just overly sensitive. Service is always friendly and the restaurant is generally hopping with happy customers. They have pretty good breakfast options of your basic pastries, beagles and fresh bread along with cookies, muffins, dessert bars and rolls. But my favorite of all time is their souffle's. OMG they are so good and sell out fast. Very much like a quiche but better. The crust is flaky, the fillings are creamy, and perfectly cooked. My mouth is literally watering as I write this. That's how yummy they are. I got greedy one time and ordered 2 for myself and ate both. I was in a food coma for hours! I think the prices are a tad on the high side but I've found that they are at least consistent across most of their chains. Unfortunately the consistency of the food at each chain is not. But this one seems to be all good. The only think I didn't care for was their chopped salad. It wasn't as "chopped" as I've had at other places. But that's the least of my concern. Overall the food is good, service is good, they get your food out promptly and they do it all with ease. So if you're looking for something a little healthier than Panda, Dave's or Sonic, this place will give you what you're looking for. Don't get me wrong, not everything here is healthy. My children's peanut butter and jelly sandwiches could not have been slapped together in a more careless fashion. In the middle of the bread was a thick and small chunk of peanut butter with a splat of jelly on it. Nothing had been spread evenly on the bread. The kids were too young to care, but as the paying parent, I would have appreciated a little more pride in preparation. All the sweeteners were some off-brand too. Kind of weak, if you ask me. I lived in St. Louis when the St. Louis Bread Company, the precursor of Panera, was born. I loved the soups and breads and sandwiches and baked goods. It was great that when Panera bought them out and expanded they kept all the original items I remember and added more. We don't have Panera in Hawaii so when I travel I have to get my fix. I got some of my favorites, the cheddar broccoli soup with French bread, and a ham and Swiss on sourdough. They were as good and fresh as I remember. Service was fine, albeit a little slow. Panera listens to their customers and has returned to serving a half French roll with the pick two combos. Look for calorie counts posted on the overhead menu or pick up a table menu at the counter and take your time to decide on what you would like to order. We have a few Panera breads in my hometown of Fresno and i love them, so i decided to go to one while visiting here in Gilroy. My husband and i went at about 15:00 and it was not very busy. However we had to wait awhile for service even though we were the only people in line. We got our food pretty quick and sat down to eat. I went to grab drinks for us. Passion papaya tea and agave lemonade. Right away from the container it looked off, wrong color and foamy and coagulated. I was hesitant to try it but i did. and they both tasted so off. Food (was it good?): I always like to choose something different every time I go to Panera so my experience can be different. This time I had 1/2 a Bacon Turkey Bravo w/ 1/2 Chicken Noodle Soup with some of Panera's chips. I don't know what it is...but the last time and today I seemed to order some Ok/Mediocre food. My Bacon Turkey Bravo was ok but the bread was awful. Chicken Noodle soup was good, very hot, fresh, and tasted better than Campbell's. Chips were good and fresh as usual. Service & Crowds: I noticed that most of the workers there were Hispanic. The workers who were behind the cash registers were normal. They weren't rude but they weren't super friendly either. The workers making the food seemed like they were rushing way too quickly to finish the food. I mean sure who would want to wait a long time for their food? But no one wants to know that their sandwich has been slapped on with turkey and tomato rushingly. At the peak of the lunch hour, it was super crowded. There were no tables to sit at either, we were lucky that we were eating in the car. Things they could do/add to improve: -For takeout they could put the items in one big paper bag or a few small paper bags (not put the small bags into the big bag; just do one or the other listed above) -Add some seating near the fireplace (next to the door) -Make a takeout line & a dine-in for the peaking lunch hours -Better containers for soup (less easily to spill preferably) -If they can...add some outdoor seating -Make this Panera a drive thru since its pretty busy Hopefully the next I come back my review will be raised to 4 stars. read more

Well Panera on Gilroy just got worse. I said never again but my son loves the Mac and cheese so I gave it one more chance. Hard to believe but the portions are even smaller. There seems to be some recipe changes and not for the better. Also, they stopped delivering the food to your table. I don't mind picking up my food, but if you change a major function in an establishment , give a girl a heads up. Don't SHOUT come get your food number..blah blah blah. So after 20 min I went to look for food and was told they had shouted my number and my mobile device with said number they give "buzzed" to get the food, so it's my fault the food is cold. FYI my number didnt buzz. Maybe they can use those working buzzing numbers to relax some of the staff, so we can get better food and service. The food was more than cold. Not sure how soup gets ice cold in the middle and hot on the rim. After being reprimanded for not hearing the shouts or my number not buzzing, I thought it best to put our food in a togo container and not risk what may happen to my food if I asked for it to be warm.
