They had this interesting sauce to put on the sandwich, a jalapeño garlic ginger sauce and wow! The owner took care of us and food came out fairly quick considering we were some of the only ones there. She told me her husband used to do catering and I def could tell. If anybody is passing by, I'd 11/10 recommend stopping by this place for a sandwich and a scone to take back to the in-law like I did. It's certainly worth the time and the money. The Godfather sandwich is a flavor explosion. Son had the Bacon the Law sandwich, which was also good, but we both agreed that the Godfather was the best. (We traded half sandwiches). Husband's had the Reuben's Uncle Ezra which he enjoyed. Portions were generous. Service was friendly although it took a while for our 3 sandwiches since two groups came in just before we did. The sausage wasn't spicy. 2.5/5* BACON BREAKFAST BURRITO ~$14 -came with scrambled eggs, cheese, potatoes and chopped bacon. We were unsure about what other protein to get after choosing spicy sausage so the cashier suggested the bacon since it's smoked in house. There wasn't too much bacon though. 2/5* They each came with two small green salsas. Both burritos looked bland and tasted bland. There was no color... no sear. The "spicy" sausage burrito had a bit more flavor than the bacon. The green salsas didn't add much to it and the "ketchup" was like cocktail sauce. They have speciality sandwiches that are posted on their Instagram so check it out before going. We tried a turkey pear panini which was their speciality. It was good if you like sweet and savory sandwiches. My total was $19 for the sandwich and one bag of chips. Unfortunately they didn't have a kids menu or anything that a toddler would eat. Thankfully I brought back up food for my daughter. They had pictures of food on their wall such as macaroni and cheese but didn't have it on the menu. We had high hopes for this place! The good: super friendly cashier, the vibe is very "local diner". Seemed like mainly local customers; there were a few regulars that the cashier greeted by name while we were waiting which is always a good sign. I also noted the vegetarian option of nopales in the breakfast burrito: I've never seen that before but it sounds yummy and so smart! The pastries also looked delicious. The bad: my sister and I ordered 1 bacon burrito and 1 breakfast sausage burrito. We paid at 8:50 am. The cashier let us know it would be about 15 to 20 minutes. We sat down to wait and saw many customers come in and get hot food (burritos, breakfast potatoes) for there and to go. It seemed like there were only two people in the kitchen so I expected a bit of a longer wait. Finally we couldn't wait anymore (we're in town for a soccer tournament) and I went up to ask the cashier if she could check on our order. This was at 9:20. She went to the back and came back to tell us it would be about 5 to 6 minutes (she was talking to the kitchen long enough that I know they scrambling, I think our order must have either gotten lost and they hadn't started it or maybe had to remake it but never communicated with the cashier or us). We let her know we couldn't wait. She offered a refund but we couldn't wait to process that. So we left without food or a refund. Overall: we were super bummed. We love supporting local businesses but because quality of service and food is not standardized, it's always a gamble. It just didn't work out this time. I think the big issue is communication. I wish the cashier would have checked in on our order instead of the onus being on the customer. Also the kitchen should have alerted the cashier when they were lagging on an order. Recommendations for customers: call to order ahead maybe? Ask for your receipt. Don't sit down to wait for your order (they might forget you). Set a timer and check with the cashier often. ETA (and lowered to one star): I'm really disappointed with the owner's response. You fail to realize that Yelp reviews are meant to take into account more than merely the quality of the food, but also customer service. I feel I gave a balanced and fair review with the good and the bad. I've worked in the restaurant industry for over ten years (including during COVID). I understand first-hand how difficult it is for restaurants and their teams in the worst of times (especially mom and pop places like yours). I had hoped that this would be an opportunity for you and your staff to reflect on what's working (e.g., friendliness of staff) and how you can improve (communication between your team and with customers). For example, knowing that timelines had changed with numerous orders coming in, a staff member could have communicated with me to let me know what was happening/apologize for a delay. Had that happened, I could have then decided to get pastries instead or another item that wouldn't have taken as much time. Or after the 20 minute wait she initially quoted, she could have checked in on us to let us know. The response you wrote could have been professional, understanding, and with the intent of trying to make it right. There are always ways a team can improve. The eggs were fluffy, it was cheesy, and overall had such a good meat flavor - had to be my favorite breakfast burrito of all time (so far). Definitely recommend to use the sauce! It gives it the extra flavor and savory-ness you don't typically find in other breakfast burritos. The Guido - very generous with the meats. Can't go wrong with an Italian-style sandwich~ The special (it had turkey, arugula, nectarine jam, cheese and I think a fig balsamic glaze on focaccia) - This was also very good, but I think it was missing either a crunch or tartness. It was past noon and I hadn't had a thing to eat. My stomach was grumbling and I was passing through Morgan Hill after visiting a friend. With the Yelp App, here I was scrolling trying to find something to put in my belly. I knew I had to think fast because I just got off the freeway and exited. I looked at the rest of the menu and I saw mostly sandwiches. Mind you, I'm not much of a sandwich person. I rarely ever eat them and don't ever go to delis. After talking to the owner, he mentioned that they had a new sandwich called "Some Like it Hot." -- To which my response was "Well, yes, yes I do." I requested for a Dutch crunch roll because my non sandwich eating self did remember that the last time I did have one, it was on Dutch Crunch. If you're gonna do carbs, might as well go all out. In this case, they really outdid themselves. With Sausalito turkey breast, Onion Jack cheese, hot coppa, cherry peppers, and house made Calabrese Mayo-- one word-- "Delicious." The hot coppa (slow aged pork shoulder) made this really stand out along with the cherry peppers. Who knew a non sandwich fan could be this impressed? The sandwich was so big that I couldn't open my mouth wide enough to bite into it. Not only was this hearty, but this was juicy as well. Just so you guys know, a whole sandwich is plenty for 2 people to enjoy. I was more than satiated by the time I got done with my half. I ended up taking a "Tangerine Almond" scone home. One bite in and here I was wishing I ordered a few more to share. This is unlike any other scone I've tried. There's that hint of tangerine flavor with bits of dried tangerine throughout, mixed in sliced almonds. This is definitely something you could enjoy with a hot cup of coffee. Lucky me, I had the pleasure of meeting both owners where I got a bit of history of how this place started. This is their first brick and mortar after years of doing corporate catering and pop ups. I dont know why they have so many stars. I came here for lunch and got a caprese sandwich. It's a simple sandwich with tomato, basil and mozzarella cheese grilled. After waiting for 20 minutes to get my sandwich, long after my table mates already finished their food, I get my sandwich and it's missing the basil. It was just a tomato and cheese sandwich. Since it took them so long the first time to make it I didn't bother asking them to remake it. Not to mention they are expensive as hell! I ended up eating half and throwing the rest away. Needless to say I was very dissatisfied with my lunch. The wife had heard good things about the breakfast burritos at this place. I'm always up for a good breakfast but the pickings are a bit slim here in MH. I like Laswon's but I've been there tons of times and it gets pretty crowded here at times. Country Waffles sucks we don't go to Betsy's because one of the owners is our neighbor and she's a total pain in the ass, having loud parties often that go very late into the night. I've had to go over there multiple times to ask them to turn their music down. Anyway, back to Cochi's. I stopped in early on a Saturday morning. I told the guy that helped me, (the owner I presume because I saw him in many pictures on the wall), that I had heard about the burrito's and he seemed very happy. He asked where I had heard this and I told him it was a friend of the wife's. The breakfast burritos here come with eggs, cheese and potatoes and your choice of bacon, ham, or sausage. I went with the bacon. I got my burrito in about 5 minutes and headed home to eat. The burrito was a bit pricey, at about $12, but the thing was quite large. I was surprised to find that the cheese was almost like a nacho cheese sauce. The burrito was filled with fluffy eggs and cheesy, potatoey, bacony goodness wrapped in a warm hug of a gently toasted flour tortilla. Went here to support local. Super friendly cashier during the ordering process. Two breakfast burritos and two sandwiches came to about $67, NBD to support local. The wait was a bit long, no one in front of me, again, NBD. Order was called, two burritos came with an ounce of salsa each; so I asked for two more, which would be a total of FOUR ounces for two burritos. This is when it turned for the worse. The gal at the counter told me two more OUNCES would be an additional $2!!! Then went on to let me know that ingredients are expensive, and that she was sorry I didn't think their salsa was worth $1 each. IMO, if I've spent close to $70 for two burritos and two sandwiches, maybe don't make such a fuss about two more ounces of sauce? Last time I'll support this spot due to being nickled and dimed for two ounces and it was served with a side of immediate attitude upon request of the additional salsa. Stopped on our way to the Bay Area, this place did not disappoint. The owner was really nice and chatted with us about all kinds of things. We had green juice and sandwiches. Took some pastries for my MIL but we tasted too. Lemon scone. Mexican hot chocolate muffin which is really a brownie shaped like a muffin imo. And hand apple pie. My husband bit into his hot sandwich and said it's the best sandwich he's ever had. He rarely says anything like this. Everything spectacular is " pretty good". I've never seen him react that way. This review is definitely overdue as we are here almost every weekend enjoying the specials which are rotated every week and keeps up coming back. The staff is very friendly and engaging making sure that our meals taste good. We typically split our sandwiches so we are able to try a variety. We can tell the staff is passionate about what they do and it shows when we get our meals. The pastries are also house made and we really enjoyed the apple pie. This is definitely a Morgan Hill gem and will continue to come back. Also! The ranch is sooooo good! It has dill and the cold temperature just makes that much of a difference. Though my sister LOVES this place, I was not overly impressed. Her family comes here a couple of times a month to grab food and highly recommended it so we stopped by. I got shared a turkey sandwich and had a leftover chicken salad the next day. The turkey sandwich was fine not good, not bad, just a basic turkey sandwich. This place has probably the best staff I've ever seen. It's a really home feel type restaurant and the owner came out to introduce himself. Their breakfast bowls are yum! Made the drive to check this place out today and I was not disappointed at all!! Let me tell you about what I got. From Facebook I know the scones were pretty popular and I am picky about scones. They all looked good so I got a small variety, I got lemon blueberry, tart cherry and chocolate, apricot, and the cinnamon roll one. They were all exceptional but the cinnamon roll and blueberry lemon were my favorite!! I got the bacon brownie and it was super flavorful I got the little cannoli it was very good They also had a cupcake assortment, I picked the carrot cake YUM it was super delicious As far as food as if the treats weren't enough lol my husband got the chorizo breakfast sandwich it also came with a few sauces/ salsas savory and absolutely good he finished it so quick I barely got a bite lol I got the turkey havarti apricot preserves panini it was a perfect mix of savory and sweet it came with more preserves on the side I dipped my sandwich in it. It was like a charcuterie party in my mouth I loved it. For drinks we got lattes I asked what was popular I think it was a rose hibiscus latte. I'm not a fan of super sweet coffee so I was semi hesitant but I went for it and it was really well balanced not over sweet and the flavors went well together.
