This is the new location for the Lathrup Village Panera Bread! This was formerly the location of Citizen Bank. I love three things about this location: 1) It is in my neighborhood. Proximity is a major consideration for me. 2) They have a drive-thru. They have a two lane drive-thru. One lane for placing orders and one lane for Rapid Pickup. 3) The Unlimited Sip Club makes this my Sip Happy place. I love the ability to drop in for a drink everyday! It is well worth the monthly club fee. On this day, I had a taste for some hot tea. Hot Tea offerings are: 1) Black Tea, 2) Honey Ginseng and 3) Orange Ginger Mint. I settled on the Honey Ginseng. I recommend using two tea bags for the flavor to really grab you when sipping your tea. The restaurant has plenty of different seating options for anyone that wants to dine in and hang out a spell. Very disappointing experience at Panera Bread. The all female staff showed extremely poor customer service and were outright rude. When I tried to ask a question, I was completely ignored--no acknowledgment that I was even speaking to them. Basic courtesy like greeting customers or responding when spoken to should be expected, but that clearly wasn't the case here. This lack of professionalism made the visit very unpleasant. read more

This might be the worst Panera ever. I went once and they didn't have their bagels delivered that day. I went today and they didn't get their produce truck so they had almost no vegetables or fruit. I decided to get a sandwich since choices were limited. They didn't have chips. And the mayo on the sandwich was put on my a toddler perhaps. It had an insane amount of mayo and it was on one corner of the sandwich only. Clearly they don't know what they're doing in the kitchen. For the past 3 months I've been part of a weekly lunch meeting at this Panera location. The food, service & ambience are all great. It's comfortable, friendly, and quiet, with a good variety of music. Several regular elder patrons say hello. Staff are welcoming. Good place to work. Highly recommend!! read more

I just got a delivery order from this store. They left out an item and made another item incorrectly but when I called the store to get it corrected THREE TIMES the phone rang and rang and then it was disconnected all three times which suggests someone just picked up and hung up. Now I have to figure out a way to contact cooperate because that's not the way customers should be treated and at the very least I need a refund for the item I never received. read more

We ordered two whole salads but was given one half a salad a one whole salad. The reason they said was we removed one of the kinds of lettuce from the order. This is by far the worst Panera experience I've had. The place was dirty with sticky floor and fruit flies flying in the area of cold drinks. I ordered via app three breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Upon arrival we could not locate cups for coffee. It turns out they are hidden and you have to get someone to have them to you. Two out of three sandwiches were made incorrectly and when I brought it up, the lady started yelling at me that she didn't get all the items on the print, took these sandwiches and started throwing them into the garbage while she continued to yell at me. I didn't even had time to explain that she could fix one of the sandwiches by giving me the egg on the side. No need to throw food into garbage.... A very nice gentleman with a ponytail came over and was extremely nice and made us new sandwiches. While we were eating we heard more of the yelling and complaining coming from the kitchen area. Very unpleasant and unprofessional that the customers have to be listening to internal issues at the kitchen. I feel very sorry for the gentleman that made the sandwiches as he seemed the only nice person there. Working with such a rude team must not be easy... I hope the management will read this review and do something about rude staff as I'm seeing in not the only one who experienced it. Won't be back. Dirty place and rude service. read more

New location, same old problems If you order online, food is ready when it's supposed to be. Staff continually forgets how to make items. Do not get the French onion soup. It's terrible. They usually forget the cheese, or the croutons that are supposed to be in it. The ambience is weird. Sometimes there's old people with large bags spread out all over the eating areas, so don't try to eat inside. The staff cares zero about customer service just what they wanna do. Had an order that was ready getting cold today, and the person kept scraping the bottom of a soup container instead of handing me my food so I could leave and get out of their hair. Nothing makes you wanna spend money more than staff who could give a shit or don't care about the people who patronize the business. Ordered ahead at noon on a Thursday. When I came to pick it up at the time my app said it would be ready, they said it's at least a 30 minute wait in the drive thru. I came in & thought it would be ready at the pickup station & they said they were about 25 orders behind, which is just what was showing up on the screen. My order was not even on the screen yet, even though I had ordered it over 20 mins ago. Service did not seem to really care. Always slow, every time. The drive-through has on the five separate occasions. I've been here taken 15 to 20 minutes even when there's only one or two cars in line. I was excited when they moved because of the addition of the drive-through window, but it would be faster to go to the store buy the ingredients to bring them home and make it myself. read more

I have to say it has been years since I have been in this Panera. When I go to lunch, I like to dine in. however, for some reason, Panera encourages people to come in and use their free Wi-Fi even though they are not a customer. Several times, I walked it and saw there was no place to sit and walked out without ordering food. I can tell you that I was eating my food, and I saw this person pull a sandwich out of their backpack and eat it WTF? He was drinking a bottle of water that he had also brought from home. So I wish I had caught the name of the person taking my order. I joked about how Panera encourages people to come in and not buy stuff and she was like, whatever, I did that before I worked here. I have to say the food was good, but I got to ding it down on the customer service, and that corporate is okay with turning away people trying to pay and dine in. again, I have to say this was what I was getting from the woman ringing me up. read more

The new French Ciabatta Dipper is delightfully delicious with delectable soup to soak into the chewy bread. The Greek salad I received was a lacking volume but flavorful. The brownie was out of this world, it was so thick, moist and packed with chocolate. I nearly needed a nap afterwards. My order was supposed to come with chips and when I called the store to ask if I could pick them up later this week when I'll be in again, I was told nothing they can do if I don't return same day. Customer service is terrible, per usual. I called to place an order, Kim the manager I guess put me on hold, which was no issue. When she returned to the phone she asked me to come in to order my meal..... I told her that defeated the purpose of me calling. And then she told me she can't take orders over the phone... just to double back and say she can't take orders over the phone unless I have a credit card. When I told her I have a credit card, she again asked if I could just come into the restaurant to place my order because they were busy..... SO I did just that. Mind you I live around the corner, (I wanted to order ahead because my partner ordered food from a different spot than me so I wanted my food to be ready to pick up once we got there.) When I arrived to Panera 5 minutes after getting off the phone there was nobody there. One family inside the whole place... they were NOT too busy to place the order over the phone. Then when I tried to order what i originally tried to order over the phone she told me "they can't make my meal" .....WHAT?!?!? Baby I ain't never walked out a restaurant so fast. I've ordered rapid pickup 5 times this month. The location is convenient. The food is decent Not a single time was the order on the rapid order shelf when the app said it was ready and on the shelf. Sometimes the bag was on the Uber shelf, sometimes sitting on the drinks counter, sometimes sitting on the food counter, once nowhere to be found. One time out of 5 the order was complete. All the other times one or more items was missing. Apple missing, chips missing, soup missing, cookie missing. Three times the items received were made correctly. Twice the items were not what was ordered - wrong soup, wrong sandwich. The prices have risen, but the quality has declined. read more

I've been to this location twice now and it restored my faith in the chain! Fast and fresh food!! Even with pandemic in full swing they are efficient with breaks fast and coffee. Good but busy. The folks running the registers were quick and efficient. Speedy, even. Five soups on offer in the middle of the lunch rush. It's a smaller footprint restaurant, for sure. My pager buzzed barely three minutes later and my soup and sandwich were ready to be picked up. The French Onion soup was hot and rich, topped with croutons and some shredded provolone. The sandwich had a thick carved turkey with swiss cheese on a cranberry bread. Very tasty. I was there at 2:00 p.m. on a Monday. There were 5 employees behind the counter, another appeared to be getting ready to leave (she had a young child in tow) and another was slowly (very, very slowly) restocking items like napkins and coffee lids. When I approached the counter for a coffee and a pastry, I stood there for a few minutes, but when no one approached me for my order, I noticed that they had a self-ordering kiosk center. Ok, it's a new world, I can handle that. What I couldn't handle was that all of the coffee thermos were empty and with all of those employees, it took a healthy few minutes for me to get anyone's attention to ask for more. And then, it was only the employee who was leaving (with the small child) who took action. This is not the type of service I'm used to by Panera, especially with the prices they charge. read more

My food was hot, fresh, and delicious! It was pretty busy because of the lunch rush, but they handled it well. I was recommended to try one of their signature shortbread cookies and it was amazing! I'd always avoided them because I thought they were sugar cookies and as the gentleman was suggesting it I was going to say no thank you. Then I read the package and gave it a 2nd thought and purchased it. Glad I did. My favorite is the you pick 2 soup and sandwich. I always get the turkey chili and whichever sandwich I'm feeling at the time. The only thing that was disappointing is they didn't have the green passion smoothie available. I picked up my order today and had two sandwiches that were not marked appropriately as to which sandwich was which. I think it is not sanitary to open the wrong sandwich and then pass it to the person who it belongs. In the future I would greatly appreciate someone marking the sandwiches appropriately. I entered my items and paid for my to-go order at the self-serve kiosk. There was no explanation for where I'd get my beverage cup, so I asked the two women at the register. One woman explained that I'd get my cup when my order was handed to me. A few problems with this: (1) one of the women proceeded to complain to the other - in front of me! - about customers who ask for their cups; (2) getting my cup *after* being handed the to-go bag meant that I then needed to find a place to set the bag down to free up two hands to fill my cup and put on its lid, yet there was no surface available for this; (3) the sign advising customers that your cup will be handed to you with the rest of your order is not visible until you've walked over to the beverage machines, rather than being located where you order and pay. After spending $24+ for lunch for one person, and being asked for a tip BEFORE receiving the (poor) service, this experience really soured me on giving my business to Panera. read more

The restaurant was clean and organized. The staff knew what they were doing. The Broccoli Mac & Cheese was mediocre at best. I hadn't eaten since 5:30 am and it was almost 3pm when I ordered. I just knew it was going to taste SO good but, it was less good than store brand shells and cheese and the table spoon of broccoli that was in it was NOT fresh.
