I've passed this place a million times and never thought to dine here. Until I was invited by some friends and we had Friday night dinner here. The restaurant is extremely quaint. But you could tell it was a place that had regulars. The restaurant had nightly specials that were written on a chalkboard that added to their list of menu items. Our server was prompt, friendly and attentive. Our table ordered a variety of cocktails that we all thoroughly enjoyed. Everyone enjoyed their dinner as well as the appetizers. I will definitely return.

BHG has been a staple in the area for decades and is a solid choice for a meet-up no matter what time of day! I've had a girls' night dinner here before that was lovely and most recently, I met a friend for a Saturday morning breakfast. Service is attentive and the restaurant itself is classy, but not pretentious. There is a parking lot and it's conveniently located for anyone in the Southfield / Beverly Hills / Birmingham / Bloomfield area. On my recent brunch visit, I went with a vegetable scramble. I had it with egg whites and it includes shiitake mushrooms, red onions, grape tomatoes, baby spinach and chevre. It also comes with an english muffin and fresh jam or marmalade. It was delicious! Prices are fair albeit a tad bit high, but you get what you pay for and it's quality for sure... It does get busy on weekends, so I suggest making a reservation to be safe.

This is one of the spot I frequent when in the Southfield/Beverly Hills area. The food here is so good. Every time I come, I have a great time. Erin took care of me at the bar and she's amazing. I let her pick my dish out of two options and of course, she didn't disappoint. The atmosphere is upscale but laid back. You never know who you will see.

Delicious food, great service and an easy location to get to right off of Southfield road. Great bar space, plenty of table and booth seating and seems like a great lively breakfast and brunch spot. The staff was great, working in a team oriented structure so we saw multiple members of staff at our table which made for great timely service and coffee refills. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, will definitely be back! For breakfast we ordered corned beef hash with poached eggs and English muffins (a lot of the breakfast choices comes with an english muffin) and an egg omelette. Both were delicious, hearty portions and we had leftovers to take home.

Great spot for brunch! I've been here a few years ago and a friend of mine wanted to stop in because this used to be his favorite breakfast spot on this side of town. They offer a wide range of food options and the Crab Cake Benny was fantastic! It's severed at Market Price. My friend ordered the bananas foster French toast. They serve a fall cider cocktail with warm hot donuts made fresh to order!!!!! They were absolutely delish!

Went for dinner last night with an early reservation and we were seated immediately! Started with some cocktails I had an old fashioned they make it with Luxardo Cherries and Woodford reserve bourbon that was pretty good, at the very least made properly. Then we started with steak medallions the order is big but not overly filling , we also had Brussels sprouts that was excellent 4.7/5! For our main course I had a lamb shank special that was good 4/5 subbed truffle fries! My wife had crab cakes the order is big comes with three! For dessert we had an apple cobbler served with rays vanilla ice cream this was big and delicious! The waitress was friendly attentive and cleaned the table during the meal. Have been many times and will be back. Not 5 stars but it's close.

My matcha latte was pretty mid -- not a coffee shop so I wouldn't necessarily expect anything incredible but it could have been hotter, at least. The frittata was very good and a generous portion -- I took part of it home for later. The pistachio pesto sauce really adds to it. I'd return to try more of their brunch menu (or others) without complaint -- why not!?

I do want to start with some thoughts before I give the highlights. We were charged a percent for using a credit card. I cannot speak to the in-person menu, but I combed the online menu and it did not mention that. We were also charged for ranch. Most places do not do that, and we were not informed there would be an upcharge. Most places allow you a sauce to go with fries. Also, for my meal, there is an image of an extra sauce which it did not come with, but we were charged for two small portions of ranch. Last, the server was just okay. I always enthusiastically ask questions to get to know more about a place. I asked if they had any other fruity drinks. She pointed to the drink menu and indicated just the Paloma. I said, but you have a full bar, this is the only fruity drink you make? She did not want to ask the bar, but I asked her to. The bar apparently only came up with one other drink idea, which I ended up getting two drinks listed on the menu (both very good) but it seemed like work for her to go out of her way to inquire. I also bet they could have made many fruity drinks, like maybe a Mai Tai, or some equivalent. Oh well. On the other hand, the Paloma was actually very good. It was a quality Paloma and I do recommend. Their other drink was seasonal with lavender, also a very nice drink. Most of the other places, like Honcho, I have no problem with getting a variety of drinks or inquiring about them, and the bar tender here did a great job. I came here because I was targeted by an ad on Instagram. This place was not on my radar, but since they created a meal (Steak-frites) very similar to Le Relais in Paris and New York, etc... I wanted to try it. It came with bottomless parm fries. The fries were crispy, savory, and delightful. The steak was super well cooked and was like butter. You did not even need a knife, it cut with a fork. Since I love next day leftovers, the steak was still super delicious and tender the next day. It was still like butter and cut with a fork. I would absolutely come back for that and bring the rest of my family. We also tried the tri-tip sandwich. We were told the bread was made fresh. I thought it was very good and very tender. My husband would have liked an au jus or horseradish sauce. He would try the hamburger next, but I would love another steak-frites, like right now! We were sad the coffee and pastry section closed early. In the past, at Honcho, we would get coffee and pastry after dinner since their coffee tends to be really good and quality. I would consider coming for brunch to try some. We talked to a gentleman who was part of the business as he was working hard. He was very kind and knowledgeable and took the time to hear our thoughts. I told him I was here for the steak. He thought I had a "but". I did not, it was great and I hope they can maintain that price point and the second serving of fries, because that was my main reason for visiting. He let us know the menu recently changed. I am not able to compare since this was my first time, but I liked that they had a steak dinner and pizza. If we come back my oldest loves this group's pizza, she gets it at Vinsetta, and this one looked very good.

The…read morequality and consistency are great, though I honestly think the meat would shine even more as a traditional 1/4 or 1/2 pound patty rather than a smash burger. A thicker cut would really let you taste the high-quality flavor of the beef. If you're going to order, here are a few pro tips: Get the sauce on the side: It's an excellent sauce, but you are much better off dipping. Otherwise, the burger will totally get drenched and lose the meat flavor profile. The bacon situation: They smash little bits of bacon directly into the patty. You can barely taste it this way, and it would be significantly better just served as traditional strips on top. So I would prob get it without next time. The Tallow Fries: These have huge potential, but unfortunately, mine arrived pretty soggy via delivery. I should have thrown them in the air fryer to crisp them back up, as I know they would be amazing fresh out of the fryer dripping in tallow. And they would have worked much better as larger almost steak cut fries to let the tallow flavor shine more. However as i ate them, i would still choose cajun 5 guys fries well done over them. My order for a burger and fries came to almost $40 (including tip) through their delivery service. Is it worth that price point for a delivery order? Probably not. However, the core ingredients are so good that I definitely plan to visit the restaurant in person so I can experience the food fresh and at its best.

Deep sigh. Marrow please don't start messing with excellence. I'm leaving this a 4 star review…read morebecause up until this point, I have LOVED Marrow. The smash burgers are fire. I've gotten my Thanksgiving turkey from here. They often have yummy soups (especially the chorizo chowder). All of the being said, I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED today. My bf and I typically get one burger and one turkey sandwich and exchange halves. Today the turkey was awful and I threw it away uneaten. You changed everything that made it delicious. Today it was on the hard ciabatta roll. The turkey was just slices slapped on the bread when it used to be kind of shredded. There was no spicy giardenera.. The brie was just some sort of melted brie slices when before it was a brie fondue sauce. I wanted to cry. This is the quickest way to lose customers.. changing what's tried and true

I've been there several times with my son and always had a good experience. However, today I walked in and it was like nobody saw me and I stood there at the entrance and I stood there. Two gentlemen came in behind me and the girl saw them and she seated them and then she saw me and she said 'are you here to eat' I said, "of course I'll take the seat by the window facing Maple" and she said "OK go ahead and I'll bring you a menu"! She never did. Eventually, the Server who was working that table. She saw me and she was training another person today and she says I'll be right with you! Well, a minute turned into another minute and another minute and several other people came in and then she came to me and said "what are you having?" I said "I don't know. I don't have a menu!" "Oh" she said "She didn't give you a menu!" I said, No, She didn't give me anything"! So the Server and her trainee went and got me a menu and a glass of water, silverware and napkin! After waiting and waiting for my server and her trainee to return and more people to be seated, my server returned and took my order! Lobster bisque and halibut with green beans no potatoes! Then, for more waiting! And I waited and waited and waiting! They brought my lobster bisque! I tell you! They just do not know how to make a lobster bisque in Birmingham thus far! Not up to par. It was orange and not a bit of lobster in it! Nor the smell of lobster was nowhere near it! I don't know what these restaurants think lobster bisque is. Did not even return to remove my bowl or replenish my water! Never saw them again! Then, I waited another long time until they brought out my main course which was pathetic and the sauce with it was so salty that I couldn't even use it so I did sprinkle some lemon on the fish and try to eat it. The best thing about the meal was the green beans! I ate part of the fish, but it was more or less tasteless! Not one time did my server come to check on me to see if everything was OK and as she was bringing me my check, she poured me some more water, that was really good. The only time she checked on me! The water. Did I tip her? Hummm NO! Oh no oh no! I'm a very good tipper for good service! What could improve? Everything!
