Eddie's zip pasta
Margie S.

Great diner with a super fun upscale menu, great, friendly service and the bonus of a full bar of you are so inclined. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner, but we will be reviewing the dinner service. We started with their Hawaiian fries - a lighter, tastier take in poutine. Yum! We ordered the Eddie's zip pasta which had chicken, mushrooms and broccoli in zip sauce, it came with a salad. I highly recommend this dish. We also tried their chicken Marsala which came with soup, salad and a choice of vegetable. The chicken was perfectly cooked and there was plenty of it! My only fault I would say was that I would have liked more Malala, but it was delicious! This is a great local spot, and we would love to check out their breakfast or lunch next time.

My first time but definitely not my last time here! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great upscale old school diner that features pasta dishes and more.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wanted to try their well-known pistachio pie, but unfortunately they were sold out that night. Generous portions for your $ too. Looking forward to my next visit! Food 5/5 Service 4.5/5 Ambiance 5/5

Tuna Melt + Onion Rings

First time! Has been on the list to try for awhile, passed it on the way to another restaurant and flipped around and gave it a whirl. Ordered Tuna Melt as have seen sandwiches being raved about, was a little dry for my liking but good overall. Pasta seemed to be 90% of the dishes ordered around us. Lemon Rice was SO good, was my favorite. Team was friendly, will be back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is always busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's a testament to how good the food is and how nice the people are. Got the zip pasta. The sauce was so buttery and savory. We actually asked for a little extra zip sauce on the side too. The menu is huge so there's definitely other dishes to try next time.

I come here all the time. They became fam. I love everyone here and everything is fire. Cooked in front of you, Service is top tier! You can buy alcohol beverages here. They are close on Mondays. The food is delicious!

The secrets out the Hawaiian fries are now right on the front of the menu, Eddie is cashing in, this place has made the tweaks it needs to keep up with the times. The food is pretty much unchanged that's a good thing. Huge zipp pasta bowls and perfectly cooked steaks that counterfeel that's perfect at Eddie's. Play some Keno get a cocktail watch the chefs do their thing. Did I mention the food is good. If you've never been to Eddie's do yourself a favor swing up to the counter, bring a friend order the Hawaiian fries get some zip pasta and if your stomach can handle it go for a steak. Recommend is four to five star dining.

Veggie pasta w Eddie's zip sauce!

Eddie's Gourmet has a huge menu so, took some time to decide. Since hearing of their infamous zip sauce honed in on those choices. Chose a veggie pasta with zip sauce. Added red pepper flakes and a bit of Parmesan to round out this awesome dish! Started with chicken lemon rice soup which was delicious!! Def returning as I go thru the many items I want to try!

Food was really good big portions plenty of food even to share. Service was excellent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience was casual with bar seats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you need a hearty meal this is a place to go

I kept hearing about this place so I finally decided to stop in for some lunch. Now, I did get carry out and that maybe took a little something away from these famous Hawaiian fries. It's essentially an Alfredo sauce on steak fries. It's not that it was bad or flavorless, but it wasn't anything to come back for. I've also heard they have really good pasta here. I wasn't able to try that, but I did get the turkey club and it was pretty good. I'll have to come by again and sit down and have a proper meal here. Seemed like a lot of locals were inside and it definitely has that old school diner vibe which was refreshing.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I love a cozy diner that feels just like home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This simple yet amazing restaurant serves delicious pasta and meats that I highly recommend. The staff is kind. Eddie and his wife are just as the best

Why is this place closed?

They are closed for remodeling, but will reopen soon.

Just visited eddies yesterday (Monday) and they seemed to be closed...does anyone know when they'll be back open?

They are closed on Sundays. Was it Sunday or Monday?

Eddies is well-known for certain "secret menu" items. Big Marv and Hawaiian Fries being two examples. What others am I missing?

Another amazing dish is Rena pasta. It is chicken tenders over noodles with creamy palomino sauce and cheese it is amazing and what we get every time.

What's your favorite meal at Eddies?

Roma Pasta! Add shrimp with the chicken

Walking in, there was very limited seating and about an hour wait, which clearly showed how popular this spot is. Thankfully, the hostess told us about their basement bar area where you can grab drinks and snacks while waiting. The downstairs area had such a cool speakeasy vibe dark ambiance, vinyl music playing, and honestly the perfect date night atmosphere. The drinks were REALLY good, and you can also order appetizers down there. Once we made it upstairs, we grabbed bar seating and talked to a few people around us who all said this was their favorite spot. Our bartender was amazing -- super attentive, explained the menu well, and gave great recommendations. We ordered the wings (perfectly seasoned and so good) and the chicken sandwich with buffalo added for a little spice... absolutely delicious. I also tried the pistachio martini, and wow definitely one of my favorite drinks I've had in a while. Overall, such a great experience from the atmosphere to the food and service. I'll definitely be back, and I've already been telling all my friends about this place!

Left in the capable hands of Edith H, our server, we thoroughly enjoyed the beverages, food and overall experience. My cappuccino was perfectly executed - frothy and hot. The large portion of Smoked Salmon Scramble was delicious - fluffy eggs, large chunks of salmon and melted creamed cheese goodness with buttered English Muffin. My companion declared the Lump Cake Crab Benedict the BEST EVER. NOTE: a 20% Gratuity is automatically added to the bill. Edith was kind enough to encircle the charge when she handed us the check. Just one more wonderful thing about her and the excellent service we received. Parking is complimentary with plenty of spaces just behind the building. Total bill was reasonable, considering the quality of the service and tip worked into the check at just under $70.

It's always a busy time for establishments, especially when it comes to holidays, but we repeatedly kept getting seated and "unseated" (the hostess would seat us, but then take us back to common area as the tables were either dirty or not ready). I didn't personally care about this, but I definitely noticed my party getting a bit frustrated by the experience as it happened about 4 times before we officially got seated, which also exceeded our initial reservation time. The service itself was okay. I wish they would've come around a bit more as we were out of water while eating our meal, but I know it was super busy that day!! I ended up getting the soft shell crab sandwich and it was pretty good! I think it would be even tastier with more sauce on the bun, but overall a nice pick. I also tried the lobster bisque; it had a nice texture with the little lobster bits, but found it overly salty. Hush puppies were a nice, crispy texture and I loved the sweet butter with it! One thing I absolutely loved about this experience was the mother's day flower pop-up stand! The cutest way to walk in and support another local business.

We entered through the back entrance and were immediately greeted with a warm welcome. My wife ordered the Beet & Salmon Salad, while I chose the Crispy Chicken Club with white cheddar and house-smoked bacon. The sandwich was absolutely incredible--hands down the best crispy chicken club I've ever had. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and the combination of flavors was outstanding. I also stole a few bites of my wife's salad and was pleasantly surprised by the yellow beets. I'd only ever had red beets before, and both varieties were prepared beautifully. The salmon was cooked to perfection and paired wonderfully with the fresh ingredients. I used to live nearby about 25 years ago and remember coming to a diner in this area for breakfast back then. Fast forward to today--this isn't the same place, but wow, it's absolutely amazing. Right away I loved the vibe. The chalkboards with handwritten menu items and daily specials on the walls give the place so much character and charm. It feels welcoming, classic, and cool all at the same time. The customer service was excellent from start to finish--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I ordered the country breakfast, which came with biscuits and gravy, eggs, toast, potatoes, and sausage--everything was spot on. I'm usually not a big hash browns person, so I really appreciated that they offer an alternative to the shredded style. I went with the cubed breakfast potatoes (not sure what they officially call them), and they were so much better--crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Between the food, the service, and the overall atmosphere, this place completely won me over. I already know I'll be back next weekend. Oak Diner has a really, really good vibe, and I'm glad I rediscovered breakfast here. Highly recommend.
