As a company, Panera is our favorite! However I cannot fathom how the Little Rock location has stayed open so long. When they get a horrible review, they somehow snap to for a week or month, then employees go back to their apathetic ways. We enjoy Panera and was my husband's favorite when he was a bachelor. So we have had Panera in several states. The Panera on Kanis needs some improvements. Good was warm and acceptable but the store smelled Smokey like they were burning something in oven or on stove. Food was okay but overall store looked like it needs some updating. Staff was nice but short staffed. Squash soup with baguette was not good, had cinnamon in it and it was odd. Really not good. Salad was just okay. Had better soups and salads before. Sandwich was good. Broccoli soup has been out favorite. read more

We did a drive thru order. The order was correct and still hot when returning to the hotel.

Panera is now way overpriced for what they provide. The salads are half the size they used to be, and still the same price! I was starving a few hours later. The service at this restaurant was also poor. Staff did not seem eager to go out of their way to help; they gave me bread instead of an apple in spite of my telling them that I'm gluten free. I haven't been here since my last review 7 months ago due to consistent subpar experiences. Today, I swung by out of convenience as I was pressed for time. Placed a mobile order to make it quick and it was ready in 2 mins - indeed quick! Then I drove away with my order only to realize why it was so quick. It's because my sandwich was thrown together so fast and carelessly that they didn't even remove the parchment paper! One job... one job. Needless to say I've been reminded why I don't stop here. The Zesty Tuscan sandwich was delicious. The ladies' room was filthy. I left with sticky shoes.

My wife and I stopped in to grab some dinner. Neither of us were happy about the food. I had a chicken bacon ranch sandwich. The bread was hard and the chicken was cold. My wife had the salad and and half sandwich. The salad looked like the leaves were taken from the head of lettuce, and not cut into smaller pieces. We both had coffee, and it was at best slightly warm. While we were eating, the manager was busy betting on football games. First of all, if you find any other tolerable dining establishment, GO there instead. Our food took 30 minutes to get out and when we got it, it was wrong, plus the coffee drinks we ordered never came out. So we reordered the messed up item and it took another 30 minutes to come out and when it did, it had a hair in it. Also, this was 1:30 at Panera, and we took the last bread bowl. The chicken Mediterranean bowl has rice in the bottom that was only partially cooked. Seems at a bread place you would have warm fresh bread not hard day old. The poppy seed chicken salad was very good. The first impression was the area outside. I have a picture. My turkey club had 2 very thin slices of turkey and two very thin slices of bacon. Then it had two giant slices of bread with end pieces of a tomato. I ate the turkey and bacon and threw the rest away. Not a good buy for our lunch that was $30 bucks. Awesome lunch. My friends suggested we have lunch here today. I was ok but not thrilled. I haven't been to Panera in a long time ---especially since the one I used to frequent on Cantrell closed. I walked in to this location for lunch today expecting a less than experience. Happy to report that wasn't the case and I attribute most of this to BRUCE the asst manager. He was on TOP of things. It was like this man has eyes in the back, front and sides of his head. I noticed him interacting with his employees as they prepared the food, clearing off tables and assisting up front. But we'll start by the girl at the counter who was completely distracted by talking about tattoos and how she's terrified to get another one cause she doesn't want the artist to cough on her and get her sick. His response was, "well, that was the /last/ bread bowl in the /whole/ store." I asked if he could pack it up to go. "Well, it's going to get soggy because we /usually/ pack it separately. I guess I can try and see what I can do." He turned away before shoving a bag back at me over the counter, containing my food. Icing on the cake, my spoon was...not something I would eat my soup with. It looked like it was scraped out of the bottom of the barrel. Especially with the whole COVID thing? C'mon, Panera. It was packed decently, and I have no complaints about that, but it's really the customer service that made this location completely unfavorable. Absolute worst experience I have had here. My husband waited for 40 minutes in line whenever they had our food ready the entire time and said they didn't receive the order. I called to see if there was anything they could do and I got hung up on by the manager the first time and I called back to speak with the general manager and she did the same thing. They also both called me a liar and told me he wasn't there for 40 minutes when I have time stamps to prove it. Rudest staff I have ever dealt with. Definitely don't know how food service works and they need to get it together. I work in fast food and this is definitely not how we treat our customer. Honestly, terrible. Worst experience I've ever had. Me and my father went to this place and we were hoping to have a normal lunch, the lady who took our order was very kind. But then after waiting for almost AN HOUR for two small things we asked the lady making the food politely just if our food was getting ready and she said she would start right now. We didn't give her an attitude at all. Then she proceeds to say "Don't give me an attitude, we're trying our best." Which I didn't think much of EVEN IF we didn't give her an attitude and just said okay thank you and softly smiled. Then because she thought we couldn't hear her so she proceeded to say to her co-worker something along the lines of people like them look like shit and "this is why president trump wants them out." This was extremely unacceptable. Although me and my father are both Hispanic, we're both completely legal. And a reminder, I don't get into politics. This easily might be one of the worst Panera restaurants in the country. Everyday they run out of bagels with no effort to anticipate their crowd size. A place that is known for bagels is sold out of bagels at 9:30 am. The staff's attitude is essentially equivalent to a lazy McDonald's employee stating that the frostee machine is broken at 2 am. I one time witnessed one employee in the front of the store (5 ft from the entrance) on a personal phone call yelling a slew of profanities so artistic that HBO would even consider censoring.
