We used to live near a Pei Wei and loved the food, so when we saw one in Little Rock on our visit there we had to give it a try. Food was as good as I remembered. You can get lettuce wraps many places now but I don't think anyone can beat the flavor of the sauce at Pei Wei. We also had on order of chicken dumplings. The looked pretty pale (steamed) but again tasted great. Again the sauce really is good. Also had an order of vegetable spring rolls, they really had no flavor at all. I wouldn't get them again. I also ordered some bourbon chicken to go, thinking it was the dish I rembered from PF Chang's. It wasn't, tasted fine but not what I expected. I should have got the pad Thai, which I remember as great. The restaurant didn't seem particularly clean or well run. There were no forks or plates for appetizers. We tried 3 tables before we found one that looked clean, and it was sticky. They gave our spring rolls to another table, but brought ours out later. Okay, so, the food was meh, okay, I suppose. Would have gone somewhere else had I known. Will not eat there again. For the price I paid, it should have been much better. Not to mention, but I am now, I am allergic to onions of any kind. I told her no onions and no peppers. There were peppers in the noodles and onions (the little green kind) in the shrimp. The whole dinner tasted like peppers and onions, to me. I suppose portion wise, it was okay. Even when I mentioned where we got our food, the hotel front desk guy said, "Oh", with an oh well kind of attitude. I've enjoyed Pei Wei for 2 decades, food here is great as always. Nearly missed it because there is no lighting. Really dodgy looking, like being in a really bad neighborhood. Get your lessor to fix the parking lot lights, and fix the lighting on your building! Staff outnumbered customers but service was slow. I went into this establishment today and, upon first appearance, should have told me enough. The floors and around the checkout counter were really dirty and greasy feeling. I ordered Teriyaki Chicken, takeout. When I made it to my destination, the chicken was hard and kind of rubbery. So, I called the restaurant and asked if the chicken was supposed to be that hard. They told me no and that I could come back to get another order. So, later on, I went back and got the same order. I didn't get any apology from the manager for having to come in to get another order. No free drink or nothing. I tried the food in the car before leaving the parking lot. The chicken was very crunchy, so I figured it was supposed to be like that. I got home and opened it up. There were several burnt pieces of chicken very visible to the eye, and the order was soaked in teriyaki sauce. You could see the sauce just sitting on one side of the bowl. That was $13. I really can't believe this place only had a three star rating. We walked in 10 minutes before closing tonight.... The entire staff welcomed us with open arms. Even though they were obviously cleaning up and getting ready to close they said we are not closed and we are happy to take our order. We placed an order to go, one entrée of orange chicken and rice, one entrée of honey chicken and noodles. The food was cooked literally in front of us and ready to go within 10 minutes. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and actually accommodated our special requests without a whim. When we returned to our hotel and broke out the food and began eating it, we were astonished at how delicious it was. Best Chinese food I've had in a long time! I surely hope that the owners of this establishment appreciate the excellent staff they have. A wonderful experience, wonderful food when we're in town will definitely be back. read more

I feel like every city that has a PF Chang's should also have a Pei Wei, but for some reason they don't and I'm not sure why that's the case. So Pei Wei is the 'fast food' version of PF Chang's only it is not fast food. The concept is different, so I encourage you to visit. Basically, when you enter there is a huge menu located on the wall. Many of the items are the same as PF Chang's only cheaper (way cheaper) with smaller portions. Customers approach the counter and place the order and wait until the buzzer indicates that the food is ready. You can seat yourself and enjoy your meal. They have a special door and entry for takeout orders, which many of their orders are takeout. On my most recent visit, I ordered orange peel shrimp, shrimp pad Thai and crab wontons. I didn't like their version of the orange peel shrimp. The other two items were good. On my following visit, I ordered shrimp fried rice and crab wontons again. Overall great place with a heavy rotation of customers. read more

While I truly love this place, coming at noon on a Sunday is a horrible idea. I spent legitimately an hour waiting with my family at the cash register; they can't take orders until they have a place to seat people; understand that, but goodness I've never spent an hour waiting to eat anywhere. To compensate for the wait, we were given free drinks and then finally were given a table, which from there we were moved to a booth as per our previous request. The line was all the almost out of the door. Word of advice: PLEASE, if you are waiting and you have other people with you, DO NOT go and hold tables or booths for your group. It slows the process of seating other people and makes the line go slower, so your own group just waits longer. Back to the review: I ordered a regular-size Mongolian chicken, no veggies, extra sauce, extra sweet, on noodles (yes I'm complicated when it comes to my Asian food). My parents ordered similar, both Mongolian chicken with no veggies on fried rice except for my mom: she ordered extra onions and simply asked for no mushrooms. My food was served without the extra sauce I ordered, a minor setback, but easily overlooked. The food itself was delicious, my chicken was tender and sweet because of the Mongolian sauce; however, my noodles were a little on the cold side, but that was fixed with the fresh extra sauce they brought me. All in all, delicious food, I absolutely recommend this place, just not on Sunday's at noon. read more
