Napa Almond Chicken Salad Sandwich I got for my wife, literally when she opened it up, was all out of the bread. She barely even finished 1/2 of it and we put the rest on our salad that night because that is the only way you could eat it. When I picked up the order they told me that they ran out of muffies and they could credit my account. I said sure and waited for the credit. I recently grabbed breakfast from the your establishment located in the city of Monrovia on Huntington Dr. The first problem, was that no one greeted me as I approached the counter. In fact, no one even came out to help me at all. I waited for a good ten minutes. I finally decided to use the self service kiosk. My order was received in a timely manner. But to my disappointment there were a few things wrong. First my coffee, l don't know what they gave me but I'm sure it wasn't what I ordered. Second, the oatmeal was missing the pecans and the strawberries didn't look too fresh. Third and final, was the honey walnut spread for my bagel which I absolutely love had mold on it. Yes mold! Now when I called to speak to the manager, especially about the mold! She stated "I can guarantee that isn't mold you are looking at, it's probably just the walnuts." I'm familiar with the the difference between mold and a walnut and did not appreciate the smug manner in which she stated it. Which it what brings us here today. Thank you for your time. Unacceptable. The last time I'm ever eating at this location. Multiple times I've had to pick rotting lettuce out of my salad and sandwich. Not bruised or wilting- rotting. 8 times out of 10 they forget the dressing, 1 out 10 they give the wrong dressing. If it's not the dressing, they will forget the baguette. Weird that I never came to this Panera, I always drive to the Pasadena location, and this one is so much closer! Located in the large Monrovia plaza. They are located in the front fast food area. Not connected to the main store area. Parking is smaller in this area then the main plaza area. Lots of COVID rules and signs in and outside the restaurant. Ordered Rapid Pick up and the process is the same. My order was ready on time in the cabinet pick up area that most Paneras have. I edited my order for no ice but they still added it. Oh well. Still the same old Panera after so many years. I did the Pick-2 combo: Broccoli Cheddar Mac & Cheese + Chipotle Chicken Avocado Sandwich. The broccoli cheddar still has the same savory, cheesy goodness with each bite. It's pretty expensive for such a small portion size though. The sandwich was toasted well and I always love how they smear the chicken with the chipotle mayo and sliced avocados. Always a classic Panera dish for me that's super easy for me to finish. Service was good. I ordered online for a 1pm pickup on a weekend and it came out on time. My only complaint is that the side baguette was placed in my to-go bag unwrapped. I was in town on a recent speaking engagement, and needed someplace for an excellent, but light, dinner. (I have to keep my blood sugar up, y'know.) Upon consulting my trusty Yelp! app, I found a Panera location only minutes away from my speaking engagement. We were there in a couple of minutes. Upon entering, it was easily noted that the location was spotlessly clean, with the delightful aromas of freshly baked bread. After contemplating the copious menu choices, we selected several of the soup and sandwich combinations. Several different varieties of the chicken sandwich turned out to be outstanding. The chicken soup was quite good, but the real treat of the meal was the bistro French onion soup, which was loaded with tender onions, delicious broth, topped by a generous layer of cheese. Delightful! After enjoying our meal, we made a trip to the comfort facilities, and found that they were just as spotless as the rest of the restaurant. We are looking forward to visiting the Panera near our home, and will be certain to keep up with their new offerings. read more

I must say the customer service here is flawless. They are extremely efficient; do not pressure you at all yet at the same time greet you warmly; even offering to help me with the loyalty program for my free pastry. So appreciated! There really is no "theme" for Panera Bread in my opinion .. serving soup; coffee; fruit; even catering! It's a smorgasbord of goodness is all I can say. This location is fantastic. Ample seating, social distancing aplenty. Also the restrooms were flawless, well-stocked; and there were working outlets at nearly every table for all your charging needs. Super-fast WiFi as well. I'm not a huge fan of Panera Bread, but I needed a quick, easy lunch before heading back to meetings. Parking was a nightmare and the place was packed. I think given the number of people, it was difficult for the restaurant on keeping the place picked up because the main lobby and the inside seating was a little dirty with tables sitting empty with dishes on them for a long while. I haven't been to a Panera Bread store for a few years. We saw one close to my wife's doctor when she had an appointment, and it was late in the afternoon, so we decided to grab a bite to eat. The food was good but not great. What was shocking was the price. Two half sandwiches and two soups and a small bag of chips were $37. I don't mind paying premium prices, but when I do, I want premium food. If it's in your budget to pay inflated prices, I say go for it, but if you're on a strict budget like me, I would suggest you go to your local grocery store deli and get your sandwiches from there. Located in the same plaza as Trader Joe's & Bed Bath And Beyond (specifically located right next door to Chipotle, Menchies & Smash Burger). I have never been to this Panera Bread location until last Friday evening. My husband and I decided to make an order on line and pick up on our way to another location. We ended up ordering: Pick 2: Half Strawberry Poppyseed Salad with Chicken & Half Mediterranean Veggie, $9.98 prior to tax- I never knew that I was able to customize my salad and sandwich until I ordered on line. I was able to add extra cucumber slices to both my salad and sandwich without an additional charge. I also added apple chips to my salad without an additional charge. I liked that this salad had a nice fresh sweetness from the fruits (strawberries, blueberries). I also liked my veggie sandwich and thought it was packed with plenty of vegetables. But was a little on the soggy side though. I liked the tomato bread that this sandwich was made with. Pick 2: Half Napa Almond Chicken Salad Sandwich & Half Green Goddess Cobb Salad with Chicken, $10.58 prior to tax- My husband ordered the salad and sandwich as is without any modifications. The almond chicken salad was really tasty and had more than enough mayonnaise. The salad was fresh and filling. My husband especially enjoyed the green goddess salad dressing that this salad comes with (which was automatically packed on the side). Green goddess salad dressing, so I used it on my salad instead of the balsamic vinaigrette that my salad originally came with. Pecan Braid, $2.79 prior to tax- For a little sweet treat, I picked this pecan braid bread. A pretty good size that is perfect for sharing (although I think my husband ate more than his share though... I'm not sure if he entirely understands the full concept of sharing equally). This pastry had the perfect balance of sweetness, cinnamon and chopped pecans. It wasn't too sweet but just a nice after meal treat. ------------------------------- (Total= $25.39 after tax) When we ordered, we chose the rapid pick up since we were planning on leaving to pick up our order right away. Please note that when ordering online you can choose between regular pick up and rapid pick up. Rapid pick up is an option for those that can pick up their order 5-10 minutes after making their order (yep, that's pretty rapid...). Upon entering the restaurant, down the hall (passed the registers) is an area designated for those to pick up their rapid pick up ordered (in this restaurant, it is a shelf that is labeled). Each bag has a receipt print out with name. Being that this was my first time making a rapid pick up order, I was surprised that no one asked me for my name to verify that I was there to pick up my order. I suppose it is on the honor's system, but I can see how someone may be tempted to pick up someone else's order because these orders are already paid for on line when checking out. Anyways, I like that Panera Bread has this feature to be able to order on line, especially if I do not plan ahead of time and want to pick up my order right away before heading out to one of those outdoor concerts where you can bring your own picnic with you (definitely a perfect option that I will be using for all the future summer concerts that I will be attending this year). Sometimes, I just crave Panera, even though I rarely ever eat it. Today was my second time coming to this location which was great, but my first time was pretty disappointing. For my first visit here, I placed a phone order on the app and it said should be ready in about 5-10 minutes after placing order. That's perfect as it takes me about 10 minutes top to arrive. I arrived and I just received a notification that my order is running late; I check the status and it's not even started. Okay, I go inside and wait and wait and wait. After about 10 more minutes, the order is being worked on. I see people come and go and I'm pretty sure this one bag on the table is mine, so I wait for the worker to check the previous order he had. Then another bag was put on the table, and then the worker for some reason checked that bag that came after mine. Okay, no big deal, so I wait again. As he was finishing the bag that came after mine, another bag was put on the table. To no surprise, he checked that bag that came after mine again. At this point, I just went up and asked if I can take it and the employee said okay. I left and my bagel spread was missing. Not sure if this is a thing, but bags should be put on the counter in a row that it was finished so things like this does not happen. I learned from my first time so I put in an order at a specific time frame. I set it for 12:10 pick up and I arrived exactly at 12:10 pick up. I went to the little counter / shelf and my order was not there. About 2 seconds later, I hear my last name; I turn around and my food was just finished! So far, rapid pick up, thumbs down. Pre order at a specific time, thumbs up. I ordered the bread bowl tomato soup 5/5. The bread bowl came separate and I just kind of ripped it apart to dip into the tomato soup. Dipped bread in this is heavenly. The soup was flavorful, tart, savory and definitely the best that I've had. Their Goddess Cobb salad was great too. The the dressing that came with it was flavorful and all the ingredients fresh. 5/5. I got the half order, but I wish the container was a little bigger so it would be easier to mix the sauce with the salad. read more

I also liked that at this Panera, the wifi is pretty strong and it doesn't kick me off (the Foothill Blvd., Pasadena location - the wifi is weak and kicks people off easily). Parking: Located in the same plaza and right next to Smashburger, Menchie's Frozen Yogurt and Chipotle. Spacious and free parking lot. My go to favorites is always the Pick Two (Soup and 1/2 Sandwich). For the Soups, I usually go for either the French Onion Soup or Cream of Chicken & Wild Rice Soup. Both are savory, hearty and comforting. For my sandwiches, I usually switch off between the Napa Almond Chicken Salad Sandwich, Frontega Chicken Panini or Steak & Cheese Panini. Delicious sandwiches that leaves my tummy happily stuffed and nourished. For the side, I stick to their soft baguette bread, which I used for dipping into my soups. Lastly, if I'm craving sweets, I'll spring for a $0.99 pastry (chocolaty brownie, yum! Rewards member price). Drinks: AYCD (Drink) Fruit Juices and Soda Fountain! I love their variety of fruit juices and they're not super sweet either. I'll sometimes mix it with either sweetened Green Tea or Pepsi for that lil, soda bubbly effect. Cleanup: After you're done eating, you can dispose your own dirty utensils and dishes into the designated bins by the trash cans. Or, you can leave them there and staff will come by and cleanup. Service: The staff here is pretty nice and courteous. If you need anything else, you can always flag them down when they're walking by your table. Or, when they bring you your meal(s), they will always ask if you need anything else. Ambience and Décor: The dining room is pretty clean and spacious. Decent place to hang out with friends or loved ones. Doing work or studying here isn't that bad either. The Women's Restroom is clean, spacious and nicely stocked. I called the branch and spoke to the manager, Janette. She asked if I can come back and pick it up. I live 20mins away and that wasn't an option. So I asked for a refund. We'll see if that happens. We came just for soup, and it was pretty pricey ($6 a bowl with a small piece of bread). The baked goods and breakfast bagels are pretty good if you need to pick some up for work. Overall, this location is still relatively new and clean. The seating was a little hard to find during lunchtime and their Wi-Fi didn't really work/was too slow to even bother connecting to for such a brief visit. I have had 2 bad incidents in a row with poor customer service at this store. I was charged one price and my app showed a lesser price. I brought it to the attention of the shift manager who told me to complain to corporate and proceeded to hand me a business card with corporate phone number. I showed her the price on my app and she still would not budge and could not explain the discrepancy. After arguing for 10 minutes, I told her to reverse the charge on my credit card as I did not want to eat a meal that was the cause of this unpleasant experience. She did reverse the charge and told me I could still have the order. As it turn out, on the receipt, it states if the order is incorrect, please let us know, we will fix it right away and give you free treat. If that was the case, why did the manager argue with me for 10 minutes? She should have corrected the mistake immediately. The second incident involved the SAME employees. I ordered a FULL salad, not a half, and waited for at least 5 minutes. When it was ready, it sat on the encounter and my name was not called nor the flashing square activated. I was never notified. I took a look at the portion size, my FULL size salad was smaller than someone else's half size. Even though Panera revamped its menu with "new" and "enhanced" items, allegedly the portion sizes become larger, there is nothing "enhanced" about my FULL size salad. The core of the issue is the poor attitude of its employees who will eventually run this business to the ground. I used to go there 2-3 times a week. I am afraid this time will be my last. Good luck Panera. The rate you are going, I would be surprised you survive. Remember, your business has changed ownership multiple times and you kept reinventing yourself to survive. Long line?? No problem! Use their fast kiosk lane!! I personally am a fan of their fast kiosk lane. They have 4 along the wall facing outdoors and two near the cashier. You can easily punch in your own order, make adjustments if needed, grab a number and go! Just follow the instructions and things will work out just fine. If you're not into all that new short line and technology business, you can always still wait in line for the cashier (which is facing the cashier that is present...some people were oddly confused about that). Their workers are all very nice. I have had a few cashiers that were on the slower side of taking my order which starts to get irksome especially if you come here during your lunch break. Other than that, I've always enjoyed their food here. I love coming here for bagels. I get the bagel pack on Saturday mornings and bring it to work every once in a while. It's $12.99 for 13 bagels and 2 packs of cream cheese. Karla brought my order to me with a smile. The staff all wore masks and the store was immaculately clean. Now to the good part. Cookies! The cookies I had were just out of the oven soft. The chocolate chip oatmeal berry cookie melted in my mouth. The lemon cookie tasted just a bit tart with mellow sweetness. It was a subtle melding of goodness. The candy cookie was okay. Came in to this location today as it was a central point to meet with friends. It is not as tidy as the Pasadena location that I have visited. The dining area was half full and not that noisy. The bathroom was not very clean, I would think Panera would take more care of their facilities. It took about 15 minutes to get our food to us.
