This is one of the best Panera restaurants in my area. The dining area is smaller than the one in Southland but still cozy and always clean. They always have an employee at the registers. I may have waited a minute before whereas other locations I am sometimes waiting a good bit for someone to come take my order. Panera food is consistently good. Not sure why this place has bad reviews when every time I have come here, I am treated nicely. I am not one that can go for their pastries or bagels but I do like their newer menu for you pick 2. Though I don't usually get that either and tend to settle for a hot tea or a coffee, it's worth it. Plus this location has a nice selection of tables and the fire is a nice addition when it's so cold from the A/C being on. I can't remember the lady's name that I used to see all the time but she was always so kind and lovely! Parking lot isn't small like other locations so it's an easy park. For a low key place to get work done, Panera is where it is at but if you get cold easy when it's hot outside, bring a hoodie or a blanket. read more

Panera is my go-to for a healthy lunch. I love that there are so many different options. All their salads, soups, and sandwiches are delicious. I just think it is so over-priced for how much you get. The service is good most of the time. Sometimes my Rapid Pick Up order has no utensils even though I choose to have them included, and there have been times where I have gotten really small salads or such a small amount of dressing to put on the salads, which is annoying because they are expensive. The atmosphere in Panera is always calm and the perfect area to have a meeting or study. I love that they have free WiFi and outlets to plug in electronics. I'll probably never stop going to Panera even though sometimes I feel like I'm paying out the wazoo for a small amount of food. read more

I've been using the rapid pickup at this location at Caste Village for a couple years. It has always been a good experience, and the parking at the curb for rapid pickup is exceedingly convenient. Always check your order though because I've had issues with order errors but not really anymore than other similar establishments. Like this location especially because there is outdoor seating. It's never very busy here when I've been in which makes me worry that it won't last but maybe I'm just conveniently coming at off times! Faves for breakfast are the oatmeal and soufflés. I love Panera! My favorite thing about this location was the staff. The woman who waited on us was very friendly and ensured that we were satisfied with all of our choices. The cashier also made sure to tell us about all the choices we had, and what charges were going to be extra. When I choose the pastry, I picked a particular one that I saw in the case, and she made sure she had the exact one I wanted. I like when the staff take time to make the customer happy. For lunch choices, I had the broccoli cheddar soup and a baguette. My fiancé has the soup, sprouted grain roll, Italian sandwich, and the pastry for dessert. Everything was delicious. read more

I see that Panera has gotten some bad reviews. But I have never had any problems with the food. Every item on the menu that I have ordered has been fresh and high quality! I love the steak and cheese sandwich. It's very good! The desserts are delicious! My favorites are the pecan pastry and the chocolate croissant. Every time I order a mango smoothie, it's perfect. Not too much ice, and the mango tastes fresh! Panera is one of my favorite places! Once, I had a stale bagel. I returned to the store and the manager gave me two replacement bagels! I stopped into this Panera Bread at Caste Village for the first time this Sunday since I had a craving for some Cheddar Broccoli soup with French baguette. Being someone who prefers to not sit around in a Panera, the location is nice, but not enough to make me want to sit. There wasn't much of a crowd so placing my order was quick, and Lindsey at the register was okay. She couldn't wait to get back to chatting with her co-worker. While waiting for my order, I heard the girls behind the counter telling another customer there were no to go spoons available for her order. Really not a good thing when your business advertises catering, and has a sizable amount of to go customers, and you sell soup! My to go order of a quart of the Cheddar Broccoli soup with baguette was up next, and was not placed in the brown bag Panera usually puts to go orders in. At this point I was regretting my decision to leave a tip at the register. On my receipt was a message to ask to speak to a manager if there was anything missing from my order. I mostly *try* to get delivery from here. Honestly, it would be quicker to walk there from 5 miles away. The issue is, it takes about 30 minutes longer than estimated, to get your food. Once you receive it, it's typically a wrong order, things are missing, and everything is cold. This has happened to me 3 times now, and I'm not sure why I even tried the third time! I do want to make sure that the elderly ladies who work there get a couple of stars though. I love that their is a Panera in the Grove Road shops. My chiropractor is located here, so if I don't feel like cooking after an appointment, it's nice to have some options available. This location was really speedy when I ordered two take out sandwiches. They were friendly, the location was clean and the service was quick. Our sandwiches were packed well and were very fresh and delicious. I always go for the you pick two- sierra turkey & mac & cheese. So yummy. Definitely not a lot of food, so it's better for lunch- but it's still delicious. This location seems really nice for a lunch spot or an evening hang out. It's pretty spacious. Overall- great experience and I will keep them in mind when I have a Panera craving. read more

Pitiful. Absolutely sad. I typically make dinner, however, my husband thought since we were running behind we would just pick-up Panera on the way home. I wish that I could say this was a first for us here but sadly, this is now the third time we've been displeased. I held out on writing anything negative as I thought it might just be a fluke with new employees, low on staff etc. My husband of course just dealt with it and stated he'd never again pay for such lack of quality/quantity, ate his sandwich and was done with it. I ate about half of my poorly excuse for a sandwich, made with about 1/4th of the meat it typically has, burned cheese on soggy baguette bread and threw the rest out. I don't always have the most amazing experience at the location itself, but the food is good and at least half the time the service is friendly and efficient. I've gotten some not so friendly service as well-but everyone has off days. It's never been so bad it's prompted me to not return, sometimes you just feel unwelcome. However, the delivery here is great. The drivers are always extremely friendly and happy to help! You never feel like a burden with them. Panera also just updated their online ordering system, making it super easy to order and have items prepared exactly how you like. It allows you to customize all items , removing ingredients you don't like, adding items onto entrees that don't typically come on it, you can even ask for things to be "light" or ask for "extras". I waited MONTHS for this Panera to open right by my house. I am so happy and thankful that it finally did. The location and store itself is perfect! The employees have always been super nice. The reason for the 3 stars is: 1st visit-GREAT! 2nd visit- took 7 mins (I know this because they have a timer where you wait) for a CUP of chili to go. That's really all I got. 3rd visit- this was the doozy. I got home to discover my salad lettuce was brown. Not only just a little brown, but it actually smelt horrendous it was so old. I spend $14 dollars on my meal when I go there, I expect fresh produce. That's part of the point of Panera. In particular to a worker there by the name of Amy. Coming from the perspective of someone who works in the hospitality industry herself, Amy went above and beyond to provide not only phenomenal service but left me with such a warm hearted personalized experience that truly encapsulated the core values of what the service industry is supposed to be built around. I am a huge fan of Panera and I go there often. But the one on grove road is super inconsistent. Sometimes it's great and I love everything I get. But sometimes it's horrible. I always order the broccoli cheddar soup. It's my favorite. But it's always a hit or miss here. Sometimes it's super watery and cold and just plain disappointing. The food just isn't always the best quality like it's just thrown together. And the bread is very inconsistent. It always looks and taste different. Shouldn't it all be the same?? Another thing is the employees aren't always super welcoming and sometimes it seems that they have no idea what's going on. Not all of them but just a few. As much as I love Panera, their Rapid Pick Up at the Caste Village location leaves little be desired. I had ordered a number of times from them and it became a running joke to see if the order would be right or not. 7 out of 10 times there was an item missing or incorrect. One time they tossed a parfait in the bag lid down, so it was oozing out of the bag - I took it back in the store immediately (defeats the "rapid" part of the pickup). My last attempt at trying to have faith in them was the order of a chicken Caesar salad. It even said that on the bag, but when I finally had a chance to eat it - it was a GREEK salad, not even CLOSE to what I wanted. Food is good, ordering in the store is fine enough when you can actually monitor what you're getting, but man, watch out for Caste's Rapid Pickup, unless you like a surprise lunch more often than not! read more

I was inside restaurant when I ordered ribbon bagels (cherry vanilla). They offered to cut I said yes (my husband has had them do them many times before) Brittany started cutting bagels with a knife while squashing them against the counter. Another worker told her to put in cutter.she did, they were cutting haphazardly and flying out of the machine like flying saucers. When she gave them to me I asked her would she want to serve them at an event she was having. She stated she wouldn't have requested them to be cut as they don't do that. Then why did you offer them to be cut? She then asked sarcastically, if I wanted a discount. I said no, I don't want the discount, instead I will announce to the ladies that we're getting them where they came from and suggest them to not go to Panera. I have to say, after looking forward to Panera opening in Caste, the place is very disappointing. I have eaten at the place on 3 different occasions and it is the dirtiest Panera that I have ever visited. Last week when I was there, I noticed the broken and leaking ice machine, no straws, the whole drink station not being taken care of and kept clean and neat. Management seems to be absent most of the time. There are several other Panera's that are looked after and kept clean and neat in the South Hills that I'd rather go to. The service at this Panera location has really deteriorated. Staff is rude and constantly gets orders wrong; empty coffee pots; out of staple items - Honey Walnut cream cheese, chips, various bagels. AWFUL! Do not waste your time at this panera. I ordered two pick 2 meals; each with soup and sandwich. both soups were half full. both sandwiches had one piece of turkey, one piece of lettuce and about 1/3 of a piece of cheese. I took pictures and tagged panera on facebook. they were so bad even panera removed the tag and told me they would have the franchise reach out to me, which never happened. The wait was very long, the cooking staff was worried about socializing than getting the food out the door and the orders were not prepared in order. Every customer was irritated. Is it possible to give less than one star? I will never step a foot in the Panera at Caste Village again. Two weekends in a row they could not manage to produce a simple order - ham, egg and cheese on a plain bagel. The manager tried to be accommodating the first time and offered a free sandwich. But on the attempt to claim the free sandwich, I still could not get what I wanted. First, it was entered incorrectly and was served on rye bread, which my husband managed to get fixed before he left the store. But then he gets home and I discover there was no ham. Upon returning to the store,the third attempt wound up back on rye bread because of the original mistake on the receipt. Three strikes - out. Not worth the effort. read more

I've been to a lot of Panera Breads around the area and this BY FAR has the friendliest, kindest, and best service. All the cashiers are always smiling and giving helpful suggestions/ deals to save people money. They're quick and they make sure you have your Panera Card and understand your order. Whether it's for here or to go, everyone you come in contact with is professional, despite how busy they are or how incredibly rude customers can be towards them. I'm not saying it's Disney World enthusiasm or that everyone is perfect, but it's really nice to go to a place and see genuine kind people who are approachable and if you do have a problem, they're understanding and quick to correct it. I hope each and every one of those employees understand how eye contact and a kind smile can go a long way. I've even seen the managers lend a helping hand, being the cashier or help make food.
