Pittsburgh needed this!! Very solid Shanghainese food :)…read more The pork xlb was my favorite thing! The wrapper was very thin, and the soup inside was nice and warm. The pan fried pork buns were good, but could definitely be crispier on the bottom, and I wish there was soup inside! I liked the sautéed green beans because they seemed very fresh and weren't overly fried/salted. The shanghai stir-fried udon was actually udon. I thought it was just translated wrong and that it would be shanghai cu chaomian, but it wasn't. It was still super tasty though! I just wish the noodles were a little firmer. The cold soy milk was very yummy too. Not sure if they add any sugar but it was pretty sweet! Service was super quick! And there was no wait on a Thursday lunch :)

We shared an order of the Lucky Six Soup Dumplings, Pan Fried Pork Buns, and Green Beans. All of it was so tasty and filling. If I could only order one thing next time it would be the Pan Fried Pork Buns. We tried our hand at making our own dipping sauce with the ginger strings, soy sauce and vinegar. That was fun to try. Dining area has tables and chairs, bench seats, and a bar area. Definitely coming back here to try more food. Attached: 5 photos

I wouldn't really call this a supper club to be honest but the place definitely carries a house music bar vibe and the back bar area and seating is very dimly lit, perfect for cozying up and enjoying a drink late night. The ladies' room was so dark, I mistook it for a storage area because I could only make out a white ladder in the corner that was being used as cute shelving. The place is seat yourself. Our waiter was not super friendly and didn't offer to give us napkins or anything when our wobbly table caused our drinks to splash all over the place. The cook served our chicken with a big smile and happy interaction and we really loved his personality. The bartender also stopped by to bus our table and he was very pleasant as well. We enjoyed the perfectly fried small plate cauliflower with the plum sauce and the fried cheese/garlic wonton bites with the sriracha mayo spicy dipping sauce. The fried chicken breast on the large plate was slightly overcooked with a maple gochuchang sauce that was very bland. We were so thankful that the large plate fried chicken came with a side salad to offer some respite from the heaviness of the fried dishes. It would have been great to have some side acidic or fresh vegetable options like Kimchi or something. Maybe we tried the wrong dishes and there are other not fried things that are delicious? The dirty martini cocktail was just so-so, not really much flavor at all, but the mojito was very good and refreshing. It's probably a good late-night place for a bite and drink.

We ordered takeout this time, and the overall experience was great. We placed an order online, and everything was very neatly packaged and ready to go when expected. The food even travelled fairly well, such that it was still in good shape after traveling home. The restaurant itself is in a bit of a drab strip mall, but it's generally nicely decorated with colorful signage and a nicely kept interior. In terms of the food, the shrimp spinach dumplings were really nicely done, with lots of flavor and texture. My partner especially enjoyed the barbecue pork bao, which were nicely steamed with a very flavorful filling. The egg tart was good, but not really my thing. It had a bit of a caramelized sugar flavor reminiscent of waffles with syrup. The spicy oil splashed noodles, one of the noodle dishes on the menu, was generally lacking: some nice toppings, but not much flavor. Overall, this is a nice little place that seems to be fairly well run. I suggest going for the dim sum and giving up on expectations for anything on the menu that isn't dim sum. Sometimes I find that food quality suffers a little by the time it gets home but that was not the case here. I was super impressed about how well packed it was and how warm all my food was when I opened it at home. The restaurant is very spacious with lots of tables available for smaller or bigger groups. Their service is quick both when you are dining in and for takeout. The staff is really nice and helpful in providing recommendations.
