After seeing Mayor Gainey list Lindos as one of his top five restaurants in Pittsburgh, decided it was time to venture to the North Side on Alleghent West and give it a try. It's nothing fancy - diner food with some Greek dishes mixed in. My dish was the Lindos Greek omelet (made with spinach, tomatoes, and feta cheese) - pretty solid breakfast dish that doesn't send you out hungry. The feta cheese gave it a nice tangy flavor. Ordered wheat toast and was served white, but whatever. The hash browns were all right. An older lady (I think the owner?) came over to refill my napkins, was pleasant and had conversation with me toward the end of my breakfast. So yeah, a nice little spot for breakfast if you're not going all out (no free parking around; either on street or pay lot next door if it's not a game day). read more

For a small diner tucked away in a neighborhood, this place ranks equal to others of its kind. The eggs were cooked to order, and were on point. They do a tremendous take out business; the phone was quite busy w orders. Breakfast was potatoes, 2 eggs, toast, coffee for my hubby and another for me, plus a pancake to share. Pancake was delish. Total bill was $24+tip. The area was clean. The pictures looked like they get wiped. Bathroom was clean. I was in the area and needed some sustenance. I have been here once before and I am surprised I did not write a review????. I ordered for take out and got 2 eggs scrabbled and bacon well done. The staff were friendly and helpful. The place overall is on the small side but seems to be fine to accommodate most. They also have a unlimited Buffett breakfast bar which I have not tried yet, But seems really nice. The food I ordered cam out fast and was made perfectly. I enjoy coming to this restaurant a lot. They make great comfort food, that's tasty and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I really enjoyed the hot meat loaf sandwich with fries and gravy. It wasn't too much gravy. My daughter had the one armed breakfast. She said the pancake was the best she's had in a long time. The service is very friendly. read more

Lindo's is a no frills diner on the northside. I've been a couple of times for breakfast, so I can't speak to their lunch options. However, both times I've gotten breakfast, it's been delicious. The portions are generous, especially for the price. We ordered takeout last weekend and everything was prepared perfectly. Our food was still steaming hot when we got home. I know they used to have a breakfast buffet, but I'm not sure if they still do. If you're looking for a quick but delicious, definitely check out Lindo's! read more

The service absolutely was terrible, the waitress seemed mad at us when we asked if we can put in our order after sitting at the table for 40 mins. She never came back to check on us or gave refills.... Also on all of our food we found hair, when we told the waitress she rolled her eyes and kept walking away. Met some friends for lunch here on a Saturday. Walked in and sat down at a booth right away. One of my friends immediately walked in behind me once I was seated, and the other got held up in traffic. I felt like we were really upsetting the one server that we were waiting for her at 1:30, and they closed at 3. The other girl was super nice and happy to be there. When the last member of our party arrived they moved us to the back room (weird, cramped, and all kinds of people, patrons or otherwise just all about) because they "had to clean". Ok whatever. I feel like a major inconvenience. I digress. We get seated and order and our food is on the table before we knew it. It was all good. I got the Yinz Breakfast, with French toast, Eggs & sausage. It was delicious and filling. Thank goodness for the happy server. She was so nice and kept our drinks full the whole time we were there. Solid diner joint on north side! Overall, dropped by for a quick bite while running errands in the area. The inside is like visiting your friend's old home that isn't brand spanking new but has lots of character to it. The staff was friendly and they've thankfully have been able to open back up through the previous COVID year. Being the first time here, I asked for recommendations for lunch. The diner is known for their gyros (whether with breakfast or lunch) and I was recommended the gyro hoagie meal that came with fries. Delicious! The gyro meat itself had that slight crispy edge and overall succulent flavor! The bread and tzatziki sauce was on point! I could've gone without the mayonnaise but that's a personal preference. Fries were crispy and seasoned well, and I had a pleasant experience. If I'm in the area again, I'll def have to stop by for their breakfast! read more

Ok so, I don't know what kind of day the recent 1-star review people had before coming to Lindo's, because wow. Heads up: park on the street. The lot beside them isn't for lindos. We all had a really good breakfast here. The food was very good and tasty. Our service was very attentive. My only issue though is that the coffee tasted a smidge burned. The portions are huge; you get a lot for your money here, and they lump it all into your plate. Just a heads up too that the bacon cheese omelette has a pound of bacon in it. My cheese also wasn't super melty inside. Our food was otherwise very tasty. I just go with 3 stars because I feel like Lindo's in the place where, despite living around the corner, I'll think "eh I guess we could do Lindo's." It's not nearly as terrible as lots of people say; it's just not "Knock your socks off". It's a good neighborhood spot. read more

This was a bust, waited and waited for breakfast, we were never informed about the specials. They are short staffed or just not able to handle the customers. It's a shame, because I was looking for a new breakfast place, after today's experience, I will not be back. The table next to me were also complaining about the poor service. Server walks right past, seeing my coffee is empty and keeps on walking. There are many other places to choose from in the area and unless your not hungry or you have a lot of time to waste... I would choose another restaurant. The eggs was quite good, but the French toast was so cold... the artificial butter didn't melt. Simple 2 egg breakfast took 45 minutes. So this morning 12/19 I use my trusty yelp app in search of some breakfast Lindos has low star but it's right near where I was So I pull into their parking lot am reading Lindos reviews Not 5 min later a flat bed tow truck pulls up alongside me I pay no mind till I see he clearly wants to talk to me Roll down my window to a guy with a cig hanging from his mouth saying I am here to tow your car I'm friendly I say I think you made a mistake He says no the restaurant called me to tow your car ohhhh ok I say why???? He says because you parked here I said ok I was planning to eat here He said well I'm just doing my job I said ok then I won't eat here He said maybe that's a good idea...and I heartily agreed with him and drove away and drove the block to Allegheny sandwich shoppe where I'd been before... Ps the parking lot is about 25 spots of which 20 were vacant at 9 am This whole incident was very creepy and for sure a first Or was this some sort of scam? Should I bother to call the restaurant and find out? Or the tow company ? Was the plan to steal my car? My breakfast literally had to be served on three separate plates. For the second time in a row I got the breakfast scrambler. I doubled checked with the waitress, "Do you get pancakes and French toast with the scrambler?" To which she replied ,"Yes." I can hardly believe you get two eggs, home fires bacon or sausage, pancakes and French toast for $7.99. It's been so long since I have ordered a meal where the difference between cost of raw materials/ingredients and cost of meal were so small. This happened one other place recently and that would Sushi Fuku in Oakland. Eating this terrific cheap breakfast came the morning after eating an $18.00 buffalo chicken macaroni from Six Penn. It feels like all the diners I used to go to with my parents Cheap, home style, delicious breakfasts surrounded by neighbors reading newspapers. They're home fries were my favorite part. In a nutshell: typical diner food. Affordable. Breakfast buffet on Saturdays and Sundays. Lindo's is very reasonably priced and the menu is varied. Much like any other diner, they have breakfast options, burgers, sandwiches, the usual. The one-armed bandit is a great breakfast menu item when you like variety and the breakfast sampler is even better for when you can't decide between pancakes or French toast. The hoagies taste fresh and they come whole; no half hoagies here. When you're craving affordable diner food and you're in the north side, this is a great place to stop. read more

I had high hopes going in, but I was doubly disappointed. First I had a look at the buffet. There was nothing interesting there. A step below a typical Holiday Inn breakfast buffet. Just scrambled eggs (nearly empty), bacon, sausage, grits, french toast, pancakes, home fries... not even anything like fresh fruit, or gyro meat which I would have expected since they pride themselves on their Greek foods. Plus it's $10.99 whereas a quick googling says it was a far more reasonable $6.99 not very long ago. So I got their Lindos Greek omelette instead, with gyro meat, tomatoes, feta and spinach inside. I was a fan of the Greek omelettes at the Little Athens in Sewickley, but that's gone now. Well this also came up short too. They used frozen spinach for instance; there was no real effort to make the omelette special even as their signature namesake omelette. So with tax and tip it's about $15 for a pretty so-so breakfast including coffee. It's not hard to find better and less expensive alternatives in Pittsburgh. read more

Located on the north side of Pittsburgh, it is a small restaurant but heard good things about the breakfast buffet. The food was decent and my server (Terry) was very pleasant and helpful. Very inexpensive restaurant as I paid about $11 for the buffet and a large glass of orange juice. Unfortunately I was short on time so I couldn't go up for seconds but the next time I'm back in town I will make sure that happens. read more

A great hangover cure in the North Side! I picked up a few drunken friends one morning as they were in serious need of a big greasy breakfast. I was not a part of the drinking the night before, but of course I was the first one to receive the, "Are you awake?" text at 6am. Sigh. I was. And I'm always in the mood for breakfast. So I picked them up and dragged them to Lindos. We were not disappointed. From the moment we walked in, I could tell this was going to be a great breakfast spot. When a diner or diner-type establishment feels like it hasn't been cleaned since it opened, I feel like that can be a plus. I like that greasy, dirty diner feel. The waitress was patient with us, something I always appreciate when dining as part of a group. I've been here twice and enjoyed the omelettes both times. That Lindos omelette, packed with all kinds of goodies (including gyro meat) definitely wins first place. I heard the coffee wasn't the best, but haven't tried it myself. I will, however, return for another one of those glorious omelettes. read more
