I work from a Panera every weekend and today found myself at the one on Tippi. I arrived at 10:30 to an empty restaurant and was happy because I had a great choice of tables. I logged into the wifi to start working and immediately started dealing with spotty service, at times it reminded me of aol dial up because of how long the pages were taking to load. I spent the last five minutes just trying to get a site with pics to load and just as they appeared I got the kick off message usually reserved for High Volume times, and it says I have to wait over 2 hours to log back in! Currently the place is dead, and will remain dead since it's Saturday! So basically I wasted my $ buying a coffee and cookie that I didn't even have time to finish before being kicked off. Oh and to make matters worse there was no warning, so what little work I had done was lost! Thanks a lot Tippi Panera, you just ensured I will not be visiting you EVER again! read more

I wish I could rate this lower than one star. The service at this location is an absolute horror show. I work nearby and Panera is the only "health" option around here. Despite it being busy the workers here are extremely slow and not mindful of customers waiting in line to place an order. I was standing in line a few months back for 15 minutes before giving up and walking out. The cashier was flirting with an employee who just got off and did not once glance at me to notice I was standing in the line for such a long time. I learned my lesson with that and from that moment on have been placing mobile orders. Thought that would solve all my problems but now realize how naive that was. I was waiting at the mobile order shelf for 10 minuets trying to be patient and finally went over to the manager to ask about my order. He got my name and let me know they would "remake" my food. LOL WHAT? Who just forgets about a mobile order. But I let go of my anger and waited another 10 minutes for them to remake my order just to find out it was wrong. Shocker. I reported it right away and he didn't seem to care. No compensation at all for making me wait 20 minutes for an order that was suppose to be made but was forgotten about. Makes me scared to order from here again. The issues here are with management and the workers here are extremely unprofessional. Will think twice again before ordering from here. smdh. read more

I was surprised by all the negative reviews. I've been going to this Panera at least once a week for over a year - the food has always been good and as-ordered. In fact the only issue I ever had was that a couple of mornings the coffee urns weren't labelled properly (Hazelnut in the Dark Roast, Dark Roast in the Light Roast, etc). Not only that but the people have always been very friendly. In fact, I had a great customer service experience yesterday morning - I stopped by for breakfast at 6:20am - my usual time - and after I walked in I noticed that the place didn't seem quite ready for business. One of the people I usually see in the mornings, Janet, greeted my by name as usual, apologized, and explained that because this was the day before Christmas they wouldn't be officially opening until 7:00am; however, they'd be happy to serve me anything I wanted. The manager apologized that the coffee hadn't been put on yet, but that if I had a few minutes she'd be happy to put some on for me, or if I was pressed for time, she could make me an espresso. I was shocked at how friendly and accommodating everyone was - they were obviously busy preparing everyone's phone-in bagel orders, I had clearly walked in before the place was open, and despite all this they went out of their way to make me feel incredibly welcome and to do everything they could to make sure that I got great service. read more

I sometimes will treat myself to a delicious breakfast to take to work and I will continue to choose Panera Bread. The employees are very nice and quick with the orders. This place is tasty and about average for a bakery the only problem is the wait in line is a lot longer than average also the prices are a lot higher than average. I came to enjoy a nice lunch with my father. I ordered soup/sandwich. Both soup/sandwich were cold, as if they had been sitting there for a long time. I asked for my soup to be re-warmed. I was told to microwave it on my own. I did not get my food for free. I spent $40.00 plus here and tipped. I expect for my food to be served warm. I did not order cold soup/sandwiches. I spoke to the manager. She agreed with me and stated; before you leave I can give you a few pastries or I can have your food remade. I was not about to have my food spit on so, I refused. This Panera Bread store doesn't meet our expectation. Perhaps it's the sign of the times at Panera. Small portion and higher prices. We ordered Mac and cheese and the cashier asked if I want small or large. He showed me the small bowl and said the large bowl is twice the size. The small bowl was the right size so I ordered small. When we got our order, the small bowl was only 1/4 full and not even a half cup. It was funny as well as frustrating. We feel like we've been robbed. This is the reason why I will severely limit my visit to Panera especially at San Bernardino. In addition the store has the audacity to ask for a tip. I WILL NEVER TIP PANERA EVER!!!! First of all, I do love the Panera Bread chain. Very good food! However, even though I come to this location often, I do not enjoy it very much. My biggest complaint has for over a year now been that their toasting oven emits a very loud high frequency noise. Constantly! I love me some Panera. The staff here are really cool, especially my homegirl Paige, who knows what I'm gonna order as soon as I walk in the door. "Hey Jake. Your usual?" says Paige everytime I come in. It's not a small hometown place, but the staff and attitude give it the feel like it belongs just to you, and I like that. The chicken ceasar sandwich is really good, and the soups are great too. The only problem can be space, especially when local Loma Linda University students or professionals are there, making it really difficult to find a spot to sit. Honestly, I enjoy the food from Panera's but the customer service for this one is horrible. I've called numerous times on different occasions to place an order and my call was not picked up, despite that they were open. Also, they have botched my orders quite a few times but I have been so in a hurry that I was unable to notify them (once, I ordered my favorite sandwich from there and the egg white was RAW). This morning I complained to the manager Megan, & asked why they don't answer the telephone for orders. She said that they were too busy, without even apologizing. I suggested that if they are not capable of taking phone orders during busy hours, they should put a disclaimer in their automated voice message system saying that during busy they are unable to take phone orders, or they could hire more employees! read more

Ordered 2 totes of coffee online last night for pickup at 7:45 this am. Arrived at 7:50 and they did not have it ready. They were waiting for a manager to bring more coffee tote boxes in a "few minutes". At 8:15, they still had not arrived and I had to take the coffee in a bag (very difficult to pour) because I was already late for my 8:15 meeting. No offer for any kind of compensation. Quite disappointed with this location. The people that work here seem to be very lethargic and take quite a bit of time on taking orders at the counter, and getting the orders out. I can go to the location in Redlands during the busiest part of the day, order something to go, and be out of there faster than at this location during their slowest part of the day. I went here for lunch. Although it was busy they went fast. The place was busy but we were able to find a clean table. The place is large. I had the Shrimp Salad Roll and the Greek Salad with Iced tea and followed it all with a Fresh Fruit Pastry to take home for dessert. The shrimp in the shrimp salad are HUGE and juicy. I would like to start by saying I'm a big fan of the Panera franchise, but this is easily the worst Panera I have ever been to. The first day I went in for an iced coffee, and I noticed it was extremely watered down (looked like iced tea). I mentioned this to the lady behind the counter, and she said she would speak to someone. I watched her tell another employee, but as I sat there waiting to get my food, nothing happened. Then, all while I ate, it was never refilled. I was in a hurry at the end, so I decided to just get a soda instead. The second day, I ordered a Kale Power Chicken Salad without the chicken. I watched an employee make her way to my table, come half way, then turn around. It turns out, she had put the chicken in the salad. I found this out because later, while eating it, I found several little pieces of chicken in the salad. It should be industry standard to remake a dish in this situation. Had they asked me, I would have been fine with them just taking it off, but they had no way of knowing if I was a vegetarian or had an allergy. Additionally, I had asked for a receipt, and watched an employee tell 2 other people about this. I never got the receipt. At this point, I was so frustrated, I just left, because I knew it was not worth the long wait it would take. Every interaction with their employees (even just getting my food) took a ridiculously long amount of time. I thought the experience could not get worse when about an hour later, I started getting sick. I will never be returning to this Panera. read more

Came in to get a bagel and a coffee. No one even bothered to look up and say hello or good morning , by the time it was my turn the guy seemed very bothered to help us. When I went to find a booth, 4 booths in a row were filthy with crumbs and basically crap all over it that no one had bothered to pick up the mess and clean it up.
