Food was good, I had the combo deal where you choose soup or salad, entrée and dessert. French onion soup, very good. Roast turkey dinner, yummy. Bread pudding, delicious. Nice and quiet. We've spent every Mother's Day at Mimi's Cafe for years and have genuinely never experienced anything like this before, which is why this was so disappointing. We had an 11:15 reservation and were not seated until 12:40. Throughout the wait, we were repeatedly told there were no tables available. What made the situation even more frustrating was the complete lack of communication from management. No one explained that brunch service would be ending, and we actually had to get up and ask ourselves whether brunch was still available. That was when we were finally told they had stopped serving it. At that point, it honestly made us question what the purpose of having a reservation was in the first place. A delay of over an hour on one of the busiest brunch holidays of the year should have either been communicated transparently or accommodated appropriately by honoring brunch for delayed reservation parties. The response from management was also disappointing. Rather than taking accountability or offering any real solution, the manager blamed staffing and "corporate." If this truly comes down to corporate policies or staffing decisions, then Mimi's as a company seriously needs to reevaluate how these holidays are managed. Longtime customers should not be left waiting over an hour with no communication, only to lose access to the very menu they made reservations for. Sadly, experiences like this are probably part of why so many longtime customers feel the overall quality and organization of the company has declined over the years. We've always loved coming here and this location has been part of our Mother's Day tradition, which makes this experience even more disappointing. read more

Our server was really great! He checked on us multiple times to make sure we didn't need refills or anything, advised us on the menu, and offered the complementary bread basket without us having to ask. Every dish that came out was really good. The portions are big and the price is decent. The menu is extremely diverse and I was hesitant to order things off the breakfast menu but I would definitely be more adventurous next time since the did so well with our dishes read more

I don't eat breakfast at Mimi's Cafe very often. But, I had an appointment right across the street so I decided to have breakfast there this morning. I normally order a meat and egg dish but their pork sausage links are terrible and I don't usually eat bacon or ham. So, I decided to try the chorizo and eggs breakfast tacos. They were pretty good. But, the first and second cups of coffee they brought barely warm. I had to flag down the server to send the second cup back and the thankfully, the next cup was piping hot. Really disappointed. I had a 3 PM lunch at Mimi's with 6 family members and ordered the Ribeye steak Medium Rare. With it a baked potato and green beans. . The potato was decent. I ordered it with butter only and I was not disappointed. The green beans were inedible. They had no taste at all. And the most disappointing was the Medium Rare Ribeye. It was hard to cut, very thin, and after using several knife strokes, I noticed it was Well Done. Because I did not want to embarass my family, I made no complaints. And when I was able to cut off a byte, I found to my complete displeasure, it was almost impossible to chew. Now I know prices on steaks, and Ribeyes in particular are high, but biting down on a small thin overcooked Ribeye that cost me $32 plus tax and tip that turned out to be almost impossible to chew was infuriating. I, however, held my temper and did not complain to the waitress, who was not repsonsible for the horrible meal she served me, or to the manager as my family would have disapproved. I did tell my wife when we were alone in the car and she thanked me for not making a fuss. I haven't been to Mimi's in a while and noticed that they have made many changes to the Cafe and to the menu, none to the good. I was there only because my daughter wanted to go there. My wife and I had the eggs Benedict and we were thoroughly surprised at how good they were. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and remembered to refill our drinks often. This restaurant is in one my favorite eating areas in the Dino. We will be coming back sometime again for the breakfast! read more

We've been going there for years and Meals from breakfast to dinners are outstanding, everything made to order, they Have outdoor seating when weather permits . My girlfriend took me to Mimi's today. We both ordered the meat loaf. I had a baked potato and spinach with my meat loaf. The meatloaf was on the closer side of being burnt. And the baked potato was just microwaved and not even hot enough to melt the butter. They didn't even serve sour cream with the baked potato. Mimi's would always be our go to spot for breakfast on Sunday's with the family for about 10 years from 2008 to 2018. We used to love coming here, almost every month. They would always be so packed on Sunday's. Prices were affordable and the food was actually good. The pain perdu had actual orange marmalade inside, the home style potatoes were actually grilled and had flavor etc. Now recently, everything has changed. Since they franchised we hardly come here now, maybe twice a year. The food has gone downhill. The eggs are like they come from a carton, the potatoes are like they come frozen and they deep fry them. The pain perdu is still decent. The prices have gone through the roof for sub par mediocre food. The coffee is very watered down. $18.99 for a plate is ridiculous. No wonder they have lost customers. Things need to change or else they'll be out of business soon. read more

We were in the area and had breakfast at the Redlands location. I had the caprese omelette. Omelette with spinach topped off with sliced tomatoes, mozzarella drizzled with pesto and balsamic vinegar, a side of sourdough toast and a carrot and raisins muffin. The omelette was so fresh and delicious! The carrot muffin was moist, not too sweet and had some walnuts served piping hot. I would definitely go back to a Mimi's just for the caprese omelette and of course the muffin! The server was pleasant, attentive and kept our drinks filled without asking. I ordered a 5 cheese grilled cheese sandwich with a cup of French Onion Soup. I was a little disappointed with the size of the French Onion Soup, being that it came in the size of a cup, I'm use to the bowl size. The soup itself was good but nothing too spectacular to talk about but it was OK. The grilled cheese sandwich, though, was really good. It had 5 different cheeses on it! That was awesome. It is filled with flavors that your mouth will love to explore. My latest dining experience here was the worst! We should have realized that we were being forewarned about trouble ahead when the entrance door listed hiring for all positions, and we had to wait for about 5 minutes before anyone greeted or seated us, even though Diane and I were the only people standing inside the entrance. Then Diane began to take her seat, and narrowly avoided a smear of liquid that had to be washed off the vinyl. My Petite Caesar Salad was fine but Diane's Chicken Cheddar Mac was missing Cheese Sauce, and we had to deal with the most spaced out server I have ever encountered. Food came before silverware, then multiple forks and a spoon twice after I asked for just one knife. I ordered a large Onion Soup Gratinee that never arrived until I appealed to the only other server in the restaurant, who appeared to be a manager filling in. By telling me later that the soup order was in, she revealed that the other waitress had never turned in my order for soup. My Pot Roast was okay mixed with decent Mashed Potatoes and good dark brown gravy, and accompanied by green beans. But big chunks of meat were employed instead of preferred shreds. And the soup was good and cheesy once it arrived several minutes after my entree. After watching other customers walking out prematurely and hearing them grumble to the manager about the service they had received, she came over and actually said to me unbidden that the restaurant was "having a problem with a server" this evening. She told me that she was taking the soup off the bill, and offered me free dessert and muffins, which I declined. I did ask for some bread (a basket of carrot bread and French Bread used to be a Mimi's staple, but not this night), and received a few slices. About five minutes later the young spaced-out server came over, sat next to me on the banquette, and said only two words: "I'm sorry." But she never expressed what she was sorry for. When this occurred I felt uncomfortable with Diane sitting on the other side of the table and our waitress sitting almost thigh to thigh next to me. We had not eaten at this location for well over ten years. Thought we'd give it a try today - Saturday at about 1:30 in the afternoon. In days past the parking lot would be jammed, as would be the waiting room. Today, basically empty. A couple of big parties in the rear dining room and screaming children in the front dining area. Both noisy, not the fault of the restaurant - just indifferent self absorbed parents. Service was attentive and friendly. Food quality was a disappointment. Mimi's used to be a comfort food staple, but has been reduced to skimpy pedestrian plates offering a mix of seemingly reheated frozen food alongside unremarkable meat. What used to be thick-sliced roasted turkey has been replaced with paper thin processed meat - at least it appeared that way to me. Perhaps another victim of COVID, perhaps a management decision to reduce cost or just a stark contrast from what we remembered as a restaurant that packed the parking lot. So sad. Can't recommend it - two entrées one ice tea $50 with tax and tip. read more

We were immediately seated and knew what to order. 1 Turkey dinners with mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing and broccoli $16.99 2 jambalaya with rice &19.99 Service for the food didn't take too long, but we were surprised at the size of the meal. I will NEVER EVER come here again and I would not recommend anyone came here as well! They charged me $20 for one slice of avocado Toast!!!! Then when I called about my refund, they told me that I could bring it back and receive my refund. I get there, and they tell me that I have to wait until tomorrow for them to process it because the server had left for the day. Mind you when I called and asked to speak to a manager, the server decided to handle things on her own and not get me a manager. This is ridiculous and the worst customer service i have ever received. Why would I need to wait 24hrs for them to process a refund when it did not take 24hours for them to take the funds?? I came with a large work group so this review is mostly for the food and service that I experienced versus my whole group. It started off really good and I know large groups can be difficult to accommodate since it's so many. Food took a bit long which is fine no worries but I had to ask a few time for water to go with my coffee. I never got a refill on said coffee and asked for sauce to go with a very dry chicken to make it palatable. The sauce never came which again I am super understanding on that in terms of service but overall the food was just not good. I was very disappointed and the only reason I did not complain is because my work paid for the meal but had I paid for my own food there is no way the food was worthy of the price tag. I mean I've had fast food chicken taste better than this. It was super chewy and just not good. The meal came with three strips and I ate like one n a half because it just wasn't very tasty at all. Again very disappointed in the food overall, and service was not great but again we are a large group so I am super understanding. I'm not sure if maybe the server just didn't remember since my fellow colleagues got refills and no issues so I will not return back here and would make the suggestion to anyone in a fairly large group to maybe skip this place. I told our server, who cut me off and said she would get the manager. The manager came over and asked what the problem was. I used to come to this Mimi's Bistro + Bakery when I was in college. It was nice to come back and visit for some nostalgia. Not a lot has changed, although I feel the food and service was a bit better than I had remembered. My party tried a variety of breakfast dishes; waffles, omelets, and muffins surrounded us like kennel puppies wanting a belly-rub. The plates were piping hot and kept the meal warmer, longer. The server was pleasant and even began using familiar jargon between us much like you'd hear between two friends on the verge of dating. I was temped to say, "Thank you honey." Totally solid diner/cafe option Mimis is a loosely French themed diner/cafe with slightly better than average diner fare. I dined in with my hubby who swears by the Turkey Pesto Ciabatta. This has been a solid Mimi's option for decades and has returned to the menu as tasty as ever. I was lured in by the French onion soup and wanted something sandwichy but not bread-based so I went for the ham and gruyere crepes with fruit from the Breakfast menu. These were an amazing pick but a little too much food so I ate one and took the other home. The side of fruit was tasty high quality pineapple and strawberries. I could not resist trying the creme brûlée as I adore the genuine desert. This was not it though. I ate the tasty crisp caramelized sugar off the top of the gelatinous pudding. They can't all be winners Overall, I was impressed with the flavors and the low price tag. I will be back, especially considering the higher priced and less tasty competitors. read more

Decent weekend breakfast. At about 10am there was no wait for my party of 3 but right after we were seated it seemed to get busier. We ordered the apple crepes (seasonal), pumpkin griddle cakes (seasonal), and the cinnamon roll French toast. The wait for our food took longer than I would have expected. Our plates were very hot and the butter on my plate was pretty melted, so I think our food was ready on time, sitting under heat lamps and not brought out in a timely manner.
