I agree with all the prior posts. I have waited in line for twenty minutes, cars honking to be told the person taking the orders is making the food so it will be 30 more minutes. Go anytime after 7pm and they are out of everything. Today I went at noon and the manager says they are too busy and short staffed. NO sandwiches and salads today. Why even have this location open. I came to Yelp only after I've written a detailed letter to Panera HQ. After reading all of the negative feedback for this location, I truly believe my detailed letter will fall on deaf ears. I'm inclined to think that absolutely N ONE reads any feedback of this location or that Panera HQ doesn't give a damn what goes on at this location. If it was being read, wouldn't you think negative feedback would decline? Sadly, they're not being read and daily loss of customers continues. This Saturday, my husband and I went to Panera at 26 Mile on 7:30 am. Yet again, as on my previous few visits, the dining room was disgusting. Obviously, the staff hadn't clean tables or the floor from the day before. I could not even find a clean table. Sorry, but bringing my own wipes from the car and cleaning up crumbs and spills before I could even sit down--YUCK. I rarely review restaurants, and when I do, it's usually positive, but I've had it with this Panera. In the last three visits, my food has been cold, the bathrooms out of toilet paper, the coffee bar out of cream, the decaf coffee old or empty...and every, single time the dining area looked like fifty three-year-old children had eaten before me. I did..it was one of those flat bread thingys..it's pretty small, which was fine, I wasn't looking for a dinner, just something to stave off the pain of my very loud insides, while I sat during a two hour hair appointment...but it was over $7!! After a disappointing experience at a different restaurant, I came to this Panera with my sister seeking redemption. And I was given just that. Panera never disappoints with their broccoli and cheddar soup and their baguettes are always amazing. The only reason I put 4 stars is that my sister's soup is never filled up all they way and they usually seem to be out of something. Fortunately for me, they were able to substitute the missing lettuce in my salad. I always have a pleasant experience at Panera Bread. read more

Went here today (4/28/19) Entire cafe was dirty. When I walked in it smelled of rotting garbage. The tables weren't clean. Most of the tables had plates on them or crumbs. My order was messed up. The salad had no dressing on it and they did not give me a baguette. I went back up to the counter and they gave me a baguette without a plate. the silverware was dirty and I also received napkins covered in what seemed to be avocados. My review is only for drive thru experience as I do not dine in. I really like there coffee, both regular and caramel lattés and go there regularly (3-4X week). Occasionally will get sandwich and always good. The drive thru service is inconsistent, at times decent and other times not very personable. I rarely see the same people, they must have high turn over. If you order your bagel sliced, make sure it's sliced! They never slice when you order it sliced. Check before you leave drive thru! The lines are too long -- not enough help. The baked goods, which taste very fresh at other locations, often taste "day-old" at this place (not all but many of the items). The employees are young kids, mostly, and many seem apathetic and/or poorly trained. My order has been wrong on at least 4 occasions. Today, I bought 30.00 worth of baked goods. The girl gave me the wrong brownies (noticed when I got home and looked in the bag). I also ordered a frozen strawberry lemonade, which, I had to pick up in the back with the food orders. One appeared on the counter and after it sat there for a few min. I asked if it was mine. It was not. A call was sent to make my drink and a voice yelled back that it was already done. Someone explained that another one was needed and about 5 minutes later a drink appeared that I could tell was a strawberry smoothie. The guy on the line told me to take it and I told him it looked like a smoothie and not like the strawberry lemonade that was still sitting there. He advised me (loudly and in front of several other customers) that it was the correct drink and that the appearance depended on the "amount of ice" used to make it -- like I'm stupid or something. I took it, stuck my straw in it and started to walk out when I tasted the yogurt from the smoothie. I walked back and set it in the counter and said, "this is a smoothie -- it has dairy in it -- it's not lemonade". He looked surprised and asked me if I wanted another one. I said I wanted a refund (this process took 20 minutes - to get a drink). He then told me loudly to remove it from the counter and throw it out myself. The manager overheard some of this and quickly came to the front of the store and refunded my money; he also offered me a free ice tea. He was very nice about it and apologized. I have found that this manager cares very much about customer service, but, it seems it's hard for him to acquire good help and I feel bad about this. The Panera at Lakeside Mall (now closed) was such a nice place -- orders were correct, people were friendly and capable; food was very good. I will keep trying with the Shelby store b/c I really like Panera and want them to succeed. read more

AWFUL!! I generally like Panera... NOT THIS ONE!! The management doesn't care, the place is a mess, my chicken was raw and they didn't do much to fix the problem, previous to that my "pick-up" order took over 40 minutes AFTER the estimated time and it was STILL WRONG. It used to be good until the past year when they have gone through several sets of managers.... I will go back if they hire back the friendly male manager who went out of his way to be pleasant, until then I will avoid this place like the plague, its gone downhill like crazy and it is unfortunate because this used to be a lunch and soup favorite... Also, how about trying to clean up, this place is FILTHY. Luckily I am able to walk 2 doors down and get a GREAT LUNCH at a GREAT PRICE at Willow Sushi... at least they have fresh food and a CLEAN restaurant!! read more

I love Panera! That being said this is the worst location I've ever been to. Not only was the staff completely rude my order was so messed up and I didn't even want to complain because they were so rude. I was immediately told when I went to the register to order that if I was ordering food the wait was at least twenty minutes so it probably wasn't a good idea!
