the greenmount crossing panera has been my go-to for years, so i figured i should leave a review. the place is always clean, the food is consistent in quality, and my online orders are always on time. this location is a lot more cozy and efficient than the one in fairview heights, in my experience. if i order something i don't like, i just don't order it again and remember that it's a flaw with corporate and NOT the fault of the workers! in the Greenmount Crossing Panera, i've met with my pastor, studied for finals, cried at my phone, caught up with high school friends, and each time, ive loved it. read more

I Went through the drive-through at Panera bread today. Purchased two Pick two dinners which consist of a sandwich and a cup of soup when I went to pay, they said it was $24.56 however, when I looked at the receipt, they decided to add a gratuity of two dollars to my bill that I DID NOT authorize!! I called over to the manager. I said what is? They said well you agreed to pay two dollars I said absolutely NOT through the drive-through??!!! I said ABSOLUTELY NOT! The manager ran the bill again. He said he removed it two dollars but when I looked at my bank, it does not show that. What a clean, updated and consistent Panera with the friendliest staff! I love Panera and admit the franchise has issues. This location, though, is amazing! The bread is so fresh and delicious. Yum! The food is good quality. It's true the franchise pricing has increased substantially. But fresh whole delicious food with healthy options including no-meat options is a must. This is a typical Panera/St. Louis Bread Company. I like to go to Panera to work for a few hours in a day as I work from home and like to get out a few days a week. I definitely avoid the lunch hour and usually go in the mornings or between 1pm-4pm. I am a member of the Sip Club for unlimited beverages and like all Panera cafes in general because they are open all day and the music is not too loud and decent to work to. Wi-fi is good. Food isn't the greatest, but I can grab a bagel or lunch and work without feeling like I need to leave - it's never so full that I feel like people are running out of places to sit. I live in Fairview Heights but I do not like the layout of that café - too many seats right in the bakery/ordering area so it's louder. I now have been going to the Shiloh location on Green Mountain Crossing a few times a week. I am rating this location a 4 - good. I like the seating arrangement because I can always find a booth along a wall or in a corner to retreat to. The temp here is good for sitting. Food comes fairly quickly. Most employees are friendly and lines get long, understandable. Also they are out of items occasionally, that is also understandable but I wish they'd put up a sign or something to alert people. Today, they were out of butter. I sometimes would order baguette or croissant to have with coffee. Today, I didn't know there was no butter until I picked up my baguette. I left off a star because of cleanliness, unfortunately. Sometimes I sit here for 2-3 hours and not see anyone walk around and clean off tables. This should be done at least hourly. Most people sit at tables over and over without them being cleaned. I'm not overly paranoid or freaking out about COVID - I just have worked in food and beverage and this practice of an employee going around to do a property walk, cleaning tables, picking up garbage and straightening chairs should be done often. I sat there doing training for almost four hours before I saw someone come around. I do the "cafe-lizard" thing often and I carry around packages of Clorox wipes and use them myself because I'm usually eating, drinking and using my laptop and mouse and it's just a good practice. I hope the managers see this and ensure it starts happing more often. I'll keep coming though, with my wipes. read more

The drink area was a sticky mess and even the floor in front of it was wet. People in our party used both the men's and women's restrooms and they were both horrendous. The walls and floor were filthy and looked liked it hadn't been cleaned in quite a while. The crooked light fixture above our table had dust and webs on it. The outside shrubs and landscaping had trash in it. Whenever I'm over in this area, I love going to this Panera. I think it's one of the best. I've never had a bad experience here. They always have so many choices for pastries. I come here about a couple times a month to get my soup fix or when I'm sick. Usually service is decent and the food is ok. They now bring your order to the table which is nice. Anyhow, I put in a mobile/rapid order to pick up for dinner because I had just gotten my tooth pulled in the AM and couldn't do solid food. After a couple of bites into the cheddar broccoli soup, I bit into something hard and when I looked, it was a really tiny pebble! How does that get into soup?!? Looking back I should've called or contacted customer service but it is what it is. For that experience I wish I could give it a zero star instead of one :( read more

Lately, it seems like if I go through drive thru, my order is never right. I get a large iced coffee. Usually either omit the splenda or too much milk or no milk. I tried to do a rapid order and iced coffee was not even on the menu. Today, I got an egg white wrap. The wrap was hard and the egg white was a little dry and WAY too much spinach. The first time the machine was being worked on which I understand but it seemed as though no one cared to offer a solution. I've been here twice in the last 3 days. One day I carried out, the other was delivery. Once I got home with my carry out, I realized they had forgotten my chips with my meal. No big deal, just bummed cause I paid for it. Two days later I ordered online for delivery cause we had family in town, and they don't have this near them. This time I even put "don't forget the chips" on my order. Food comes, I unpack on the table........no chips. Again, not a huge deal except it's twice in 3 days, and I wrote it on paper! Even though we said it wasn't a big deal, she acted as if it was, and didn't brush it off, which made me feel good that they took such pride in making our order right! She told us she would discuss the issues with the staff, and had the driver come back and make the order more than right. My family is a regular customer here almost every single day. The fact that every time we come our order is wrong almost every single time is ridiculous. Over the past 4 years this place has gone completely downhill. This used to be the most reliable panera in our area, it's a joke now. Today it was wrong bread, egg, and cheese. This Panera cannot seem to get it right, especially when it really matters. My friend is vegetarian and has TWICE (two different times) ordered a vegetarian menu item that then had meat when she opened it at home. First time was a noodle bowl ordered on the app that then had chicken, second time was a drive through order of an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on ciabatta (menu item, 0 customization) that then had bacon on it (to make it worse the bread was a baguette, not ciabatta). I love Panera's classics (fruit smoothies & bagels!) and they are constantly adding new flavorful options to the menu. I like that you can order ahead of time, and have your food ready to pick up when you get there! If you don't want to spend the time on your phone, though, it doesn't take long for them to assemble while you wait. Panera has so many delicious bakery options, and their lunch/light dinner options are made with high end ingredients and fresh produce. This location is nice! Hmmm... somehow giving me something that I already paid for doesn't seem free... And next time!!! WTF?!... John G also justified the slimy turkey by saying that they don't even have anything on the menu that has roasted turkey right now so there was no other option... which is why I included the picture of the "Roasted Turkey" avocado BLT... to expose his LIE and in general jackassedness for not knowing his own stores products and then acting as if their ripped off customer is an idiot... I hope many people read this who have had a similar experience and make them pay many times over for treating people like this... And charging astronomical prices for poor quality... Walked into this place and stood at the register for about 10 minutes until the group of employees even noticed I was ready to take an order while they were working behind the register. After I stated I'm ready to order, the manager said "we just assumed you were trying to figure out your order". While I was taking my order, the manager was taking bagel inventory and when I was speaking she was shaking her head with her back toward the cash register. Then we placed our order and in the middle of placing our order the manager said to us that the dining facility is closed and you will have to get your order to go. While the manager told me this information there were people still seated in the dining room eating. I mentioned such things to the manager and she said that she would be asking the customers to leave as they were closing in a couple of minutes. Please note. My kitchen is under remodel so I came to Panera specifically to sit down to eat dinner. Anyways, we placed our order. Waited about 20 minutes and the customer service associate forgot to get our bagels ready for us as we order these to go. While also waiting the customer service associate cashier forgot to give us our cups to enable us to create a drink at the soda fountain. While waiting for our order the employees were standing around on their phones while other employees were slowly preparing food. Employees also did not have their hair in buns and a few of the girls had hair to their waist. Ew. So then the cook manager stated we could sit outside. So we sat outside to eat. When we finished eating we searched for a trash bin to put our food in. No trash bin was available for outdoor seating. So we placed our trash in front of the door way assuming an employees would come outside eventually that he or she would eventually see our trash. After leaving our trash an employee came outside and tried to come up to us to say something but we kept walking away. Don't go to this location. It is very dirty, unorganized.
