This is one of the best locations I've been to! The service was much quicker than some of my previous experiences, and I felt like I was given a reasonably big portion for my salad and sandwich pick 2. I love the chipotle chicken avocado toasted sandwich! My 3 year old got a grilled cheese kids meal instead of her usual Mac n cheese and I was pleasantly surprised at the portion size- it was so big for a kids meal! I'd recommend this location to anyone looking for a quick but yummy lunch spot. read more

I love Panera bread but the last sandwich I had there wasn't the best. It had so much lettuce I felt like I was eating grass. But I give them credit that maybe they had a new employee. The only thing I really hate is their prices. That is why I don't eat there very often. read more

Ok y'all. I know we all hate on the chains but this is our chain. A St. Louis original. So I am here. Now with that said not all locations are the same. I got the tiniest green goddess salad on Chippewa. Like pitiful... but still good. Now the location in Washington, MO!!!!! Top freaking notch. A+ all around. Good job folks. The service was lovely. I'm usually very satisfied with Panera's sandwiches and their food in general. However, my most recent experience was not a good one. I had the spicy steak asiago bagel stack. The meat was in thick chunks, very tough, and the entire sandwich was drowned in sauce. I won't be ordering anything from them for some time. read more

The atmosphere is so-so. There are a few employees that really care about their work, but most of them don't really pay attention. The guy behind the counter today did a few good job taking orders (props to him!), however, the people serving food did not check to see if the food was as ordered. (Someone with me ordered a cappuccino, and then had to remind the people in charge of the food about it. Someone else ordered a bag of chips and got something else instead.) Also, the food was not very good. (My sandwich had way too much sauce with too little meat. Someone else commented that their food wasn't satisfactory either.) The pastries were very delicious, so I can't say that it was a bad experience. It just wasn't like it used to be when I first started coming here a few years ago. It's a shame, because this place used to be really good in customer service and staff friendliness. The only staff member who greeted us was the same guy who took our orders. Last order was drive through, they forgot some of my stuff but I called and they said they'd send me a coupon for the stuff that I didn't get. Which is good, but means I have to go back to take advantage of it - which I'll do not so much because I want to get what I paid for, (which is usually true anyways), but because my daughter likes bread co. This location for Panera is our go to spot to stop at every year before heading into the woods and cutting down a Christmas tree. The staff is always friendly and willing to help whenever and wherever needed. The area is always clean and well stocked. They seem to always have what I want to order and their rewards program is always ready to give something to make your visit even better. read more

Ordered a full sandwich with flat bread. Recieved one folded flat bread sandwich. Tried to have them explain it 3 times and told them about the sandwich being 2 flatbreads on their website. Refused to admit the mistake and never offered to speak with a manager. For a first time customer i am shocked that I paid $9 for such a small portion of food. My mom and I went through the Saint Louis Bread Company drive-through today. We both ordered the You Pick Two with French Onion soup, my mom ordered a Chicken Caesar salad and I wanted the Thai Chicken salad. But what I got instead was a Big Kids Grilled Cheese. The food is good...when they actually have it. This is the worst Panera EVER! They are always out of something. I believe they have the worst management skills of any Panera. If you are constantly out of something, wouldn't you order more for the following week? How is it 8:00 am and you are out of bagels? Didn't you just open? We never have any issues with any other Panera but this one is horrible. You can never go in there and actually order what you want because they never, ever have it. This happens every single time we go there. We will not patronize this establishment any longer. Please, get new management who actually understands how to place orders and keep items in stock. read more

I love having a Panera in Washington and it's a great, if pricey, alternative to other restaurants in town. Maybe it's from temporary summer employees, but the last few times we've visited we've had frustrating experiences. I don't particularly enjoy asking for a common menu item and hearing "Huh????" in reply, as if they've never heard of smoked turkey before. Our wait in the drive-through has been extremely long the last few visits as well. The first time we received a very nice apology and a free dessert; the second time we received a scowl and a bag thrust at us so fast I nearly dropped it, as if the long wait were MY fault somehow. This is a mainstay for me at home and work. I like their pick two option and the food is never bad. Always seems like someone new is waiting on you but the manager with the hoops in his ears is always there with a pleasant smile and friendly service. I can always count on a good meal here. DO NOT EAT HERE...I made the mistake of eating at this place and now I get to go visit my dentist. Time of visit: Sunday, January 25 around 7:30pm I ordered the Chicken Bacon Dijon Panini. Coffee is good enough, just like any other BreadCo, but the music at the Washington location is whiney and singsongey, the kind of thing you'd play to get people to drink coffee. Maybe that's the point, but I can access the internet anywhere, so I don't have to put up with go-to-sleep music. Won't go back to BreadCo at this location. read more

I love Panera for the food, but honestly, it's the customer service that is the best part of Panera. I'm a frequent customer and everyone there is always friendly. I don't know her name, but there's a lady who was working the drive thru window this morning who makes me smile everytime I come by. Went to this location two times within a week. First time my wife and I both ordered the pick 2. The cashier was distracted taking our order, not a huge deal. For the two of us the bill was about $30. Again not a big deal but we go to sit down and every single table in the dining room was dirty. A manager did come and clean off a table for us to sit down but even under all the tables were dirty. The area were you place your tray and dirty dishes looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. But the food was decent so we thought this was a busy and off day for house keeping and would come back another day. On our second visit it was worse than the first, once again a distracted person taking our order (over $30 for my wife and I) and once we did get our food every single table was dirty. The carpet under all the tables still disgusting and the tray area looked disgusting as well. We had to ask once again to have a table cleaned. Someone finally did wipe off our table and the other tables but it was half hearted and not done very well at all. My recommendation would be to spend your money else where until the place is cleaned and have workers who care about having a job. read more
