Caesar Salad Tuna Poke
Kayla Y.

This place is dreamy, with an amazing atmosphere and service. Located a bit far from some places, it is like sitting in a tree house. We made reservations which was a good call as this place was busy! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Our waiter was thoughtful and split out shared salad into two and it the salad itself was super refreshing. The poke was amazing as well and you can really tell that everything was super fresh. Our entrees were also so tasty and light on the stomach. We definitely recommend!

Pangea offered a unique dining experience while we were on our St. Thomas trip. The concept is ocean to table and sustainability. I honestly was looking around for a cool, quiet dining experience and found this place (not too far from the resort we were staying at), and they took us in without reservation. The place has unique lighting. It made me think of faeries. Overall, it felt very serene. We were seated on a table in between two other parties although the place wasn't busy. That's where the serenity ended. We ordered some cocktails. They were good but can't remember what they were. Then we started with their poke served with tostones. Very good with crisp tostones. I had the wild shrimp pasta and my husband opted for the fresh fish of the day. We both loved our meal. You can tell the ingredients were fresh and the preparation was thoughtful. We eventually ordered another cocktail while waiting for dessert. The waiter had mentioned that they have something like a panna cotta called blancmange so I wanted to try it. Delicious! I would have came back just for those. Our dining experience was fantastic aside from having to be seated closely in the middle of 2 parties who were constantly chatting away. We left full and happy about the food and cocktails we were served with.

My husband and I had a great dinner here on our recent vacation. The ambiance is great; like being in a fairy garden. I had the steak with chimichurri sauce and fried potatoes and my husband had the West Indian chicken. Both were delicious. The only downside was that I got eaten alive, which wasn't the restaurant's fault. I didn't notice the bug spray they had when you walked in, and I definitely paid the price.

Coconut crème brûlée

Dinner for 2 on a Tuesday night. We enjoyed the "west indian chicken" though I was expecting a little heat in the flavoring and the wild shrimp pasta (sauce was superb). Also tried the fried fish bites and shrimp ceviche - both very good. Finished off with pineapple and mango juices and a coconut creme brulee. All in all a very good meal in a beautiful setting off the water.

We had an amazing experience at Pangea! The menu was unique and we loved the ambiance. Highly recommend as a dinner spot while visiting St. Thomas!

Bar and seating area

Came here on a Monday night for dinner. Wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. AMBIANCE: The ambiance is cool, laid back, while also beautiful. Great spot for a casual dinner or for a celebration. You can dress up or dress casual and you won't be out of place either way. FOOD: Great! We are vegetarian. For starter we had the bruschetta on tostones. So good!! For dinner, my husband had the grain/salad bowl - it was fantastic. I had the Kale Caesar - very tasty. Only thing I'd skip next time is the falafel add-on, as it was very dry. But everything else was delicious!! SERVICE: Good. Average island style service which means they won't rush you out at all. Hope to come back again soon!

We had the most incredible meal at Pangea during our visit to the island. Everyone in our Party of 10 loved their dish, drinks and desserts! Great ambiance! Great service! Highly recommend this hidden gem!

First time here. Great experience, from the craft drinks at the bar to dinner. Had a group of 8 of us enjoy their libations and food. Most of us picked out the mahi mahi or the tuna. They had a good service and food was delicious.

We weren't able to get a day-of reservation (they didn't answer their phone or text), but my husband and I were able to get a seat at the bar for dinner around 7pm. They have a good vibe - beachy chic if I had to describe it. The bartender was great; very friendly and attentive. Our food took awhile to arrive; I'd say at least 45 minute. The menu is small but the options were still hard to choose from. Many vegan and gluten-free options. We ordered the Mexican fajitas with tuna (they were out of salmon), and the Mexican bowl. Both were incredibly flavorful. Between the small-ish portions and the fact that we skipped lunch, we ended with the kingfisher bites starter and that was really the hit of the evening. Super flavorful and fresh!

Their fresh fish of the night was mahi, which we had as an entree as well as in the Asian bowl.

Pelicans Beach Bar is dangerously good at making cocktails go in and having the fun come out of you! $5 mix drinks, $4 beers, $8 crafted frozen all day for happy hour! This little 7 seat bar at the Ritz Carlton Resort is the farthest down the beach next to the serenity pool. Shhhhhhhhh......be quiet.....yea right when happy hour is all day and your bartenders are mad cool! Not sure of why they put this next to the "library" section of the resort but this bar just opened up in November. Our bartender Alex and her side kick Ryan were awesome compliments to the beachy view of St. John and our delicious cocktails. My favorites were the Lilikoi Mango Mojito and Caribbean Fiesta (not on menu but Alex knows of how to make them). For those Patron lovers like my hubby, try the Sandy Day, he loved it! Sushi is Japanese for yummylicious! Pelicans Beach Bar expands (seating wise) during the evening to a few 4 tops for an all you can eat sushi pig out session every Wednesday from 5p-8p for $45! Thursday's is taco day from 5p-8p with unlimited rice, beans, chips and salsa! You've already tortured yourself in dieting to get into bikini ready shape, let this sushi and taco fun be your free pass to choose your love of food, over not wanting to get fat! If staying at the Ritz these two nights should be checked out. If you don't want to chillax under the stars while listening to music next to tiki torches, you can box up your grub and take it back to your room. Tacos and sushi not your thing? You can order from Coconut Cove, another restaurant on the resort and they'll deliver your food to you at this bar. If not staying at the Ritz, great bay beach, which Pelicans Beach Bar sits on is actually a public beach. There is hidden free public beach parking past the main hotel lobby port cochere and down a steep road. Pictures attached show the way. My only complaint is that the bathroom locations seem like the distance needed to get to St. John. But that's the laziness (aka selective participation) in me that gets stronger with each cocktail! Cheers!

Drinks are only $8-$10 each, so we were at this spot several times per day. Really made our trip and stay at the Ritz Residences more enjoyable. Hand down the best place to eat in the area. It's very small, but packs a punch with great customer service, cool drinks and outstanding food. Best to try and get in on their off hours to get a table without a wait. We literally ate here 4 times when we were on the island. An absolute MUST to order is their Bacon Jalapeno tater kegs! OMG-They're the bomb! Wings are decent and the burgers are juicy, flavorful and delicious! You really can't go wrong with ANYTHING on the menu. Everything is made fresh to order. The decor is island themed chaos in every fun way possible. If you happen to have to use the restroom it's located outside (customs ONLY) The key ring they'll hand you is a toilet lid! LOL You can ring in another way too! On your trip to the john, call in sick to work and stay on the island! You're enticed too by the retro phone sitting a top a keg outdoors as well. Great photo opts! Happy Hour is daily! The Love Shack offers particular deals with half-priced cocktails. We did Margs on Monday! Signature drinks include the 50oz Volcano Drink, Shark Attack, and souvenir cocktails like the Pirates Booty in a ceramic mugs. FYI- They may attach a certain creature to your glass also. Perfect vibe, casual dinning and great accommodations by the staff (for our big party) who were so friendly and professional. This is a must experience spot when visiting St Thomas.

Duffy's provides free parking which is a rarity and right at noon, the mall lot had tons of open spots. We both ordered burgers, one with the standard fries and one with onion rings. It took a good half hour for the food to be delivered but when we got it, it was hot and cooked to our specs. Fries were crispy. Burger was thick with a nice crisp, almost tasted like a smash burger but thicker. Service was good. It was the one spot where we didn't have to pay for a refill of soda. They were playing the best music! No waitlist or host so you have to linger and wait for someone to leave if you need a table and they are full. Great stop.

Our server was very lackadaisical and seemed to cater to whatever table he saw first, leaving ours neglected. Additionally, they serve complimentary biscuits which are very good. However, most tables were given biscuits besides ours. When asked, the server stated "Oh you wanted them? I'll see if we have" Food: We got brussel sprouts and octopus as our appetizers. These were amazing and set the bar high. Then our entrees were lackluster. The shrimp tasted very plain and could use a sear. The mahi was very overcooked. We got panna cotta for dessert and it was borderline inedible. Tasted like sour jello. Wish we passed on this. Overall, I would not return.

We arrived a bit ahead of schedule, so we opted for the bar and had a couple of cocktails. Nice speciality cocktail list, decent wine list. I normally make a few observations about our server, but I cannot in this review because we didn't really have a server. Service was chaotic, some times the waiter, some times the bartender, some times the manager, some times the hostess... it was a circus, with us having to repeat orders already given to another staff member because there was no communication between the staff.... It wasn't crowded, the restaurant was only about 50% full. The service chaos often resulted in dirty dishes left on the table for 15-20 minutes. We were also told at 8:30pn "the kitchen is closing is 15 minutes"... the restaurant is open until 10:00pm! Comical... so the food was rushed out, I assume, in time for them to lock the doors at 10:00pm. The food was decent enough, but the quality of the food didn't make up for the incoherent system of service. The service was a real downer, tough to justify the prices when we're just a party of two and the staff was fully engaged in entertaining other large tables. The food was good, but we don't need to go back. For the price, much better places on the island!
