A must go! Great ambiance right on the water. Attentive staff. And seriously delicious food! Best tuna I've ever had! Locally caught and so fresh. The pineapple cherry bread pudding was sooo good I ate every bite. I could've eaten here everyday of my trip.
Exceptional restaurant for exceptional occasions. What we loved: * Amazing location and views. * Superior service by Jerwin and the other wait staff. * Five star decor, china, glassware and flatware * delicious menu choices, expertly prepared. * thoughtful acknowledgement of our anniversary. We celebrated our 30th anniversary at Oceana. We were greeted cordially and told it would be just a minute while they bussed our table. It was worth the wait - a primo corner table on the Oceanside. At our table, we were again wished a happy anniversary and given a thoughtful card. We ordered the special beet and burrata flatbread appetizer and pecorino cheese fondue. Both were AMAZING! We treated ourselves to a fancy bottle of French wine, which was served with appropriate glassware. For entrees, I opted for a rare/medium rare ribeye with potato gratin. It came a little closer to medium than I would have liked, so do order on the undercooked side of your liking. My wife chose a seafood special, which was amazing too. We spilt a key lime tart for dessert and were treated to a special sparkler for our anniversary. All in all, a delicious and memorable evening. We also returned the next night for a cocktail to start the evening as the Sea Plane and Sorrel Old Fashioned had caught our eyes the night before. The bartender was gracious and engaging, but it was a bit hot at the bar itself. Sadly, the hostess brusquely denied our request to sit at a table in the bar or on the verandah as "tables are reserved for those dining with us." I suggest that Oceana rethink this policy when it is possible to accommodate such a request ... in the meantime, I would advise those seeking just a cocktail to look elsewhere.
We had a great time on island at Oceana for a pre-birthday celebration for my wife. The views are spectacular. Our meal choices were tasty and well presented. And, the service was second to none. Everybody on staff was attentive to our every need. We will be back all the way from South Carolina.
We had a very enjoyable dinner at Oceana while on a recent trip to St. Thomas, USVI. We arrived a bit early for our reservation, so we sat at the bar and enjoyed a cocktail until our table was ready. Oceana is a very cool location, and beautiful house right on the bay, great views, especially during the day. The staff was very friendly, the service crisp, and the fare very good! At the bar we started with cocktails, the "O" and a sunset martini. The "O" is the house signature cocktail, a combination of house-infused pineapple rum, ginger, lime juice, coconut cream and pineapple juice. Delicious and refreshing! The sunset martini is a tasty blend of vodka, Chambord, citrus, candied lemon and a sugar rim. A nice way to start the evening! Once seated, after another cocktail, we opted for a nice bottle of white wine, Lenda Albarino. It was a good wine that paired well with our food selections. We ordered and shared two salad, the beet escabeche and the house special grilled peach salad. The beet salad included several varieties of beets, on a bed of goat cheese, adorned with spicy arugula, and rimmed with a raspberry balsamic reduction and EVOO. Very tasty. The grilled peach salad featured bibb lettuce, honey whipped goat cheese, candied pecans, a balsamic reduction, and EVOO. Very good salad, our favorite of the two. For our main course, we opted for the bouillabaisse, which was a prefect size for sharing. The soup included lobster tail, clams, mussels, shrimp, fresh fish, a very tasty broth and toasted bread on the side. It was a very good dish, and perfect for using the bread to soak up the sauce at the end. For dessert we shared two scoops of cookies and cream ice cream and the trio of sorbets. Both were good, we liked the ice cream a lot! Homemade, creamy and deelish! It was a good dinner, paced well, and worth the visit. The setting is delightful, and we'd recommend just stopping by for a drink is you're not able to dine at Oceana.
This place is some of the best food and service I have ever have. My first visit was perfect and our server was attentive. I got one of the specials that was amazing. It was so good we came back only a night later! They views as well from this place were amazing, so close to the water with such a nice breeze. My second night I got the burrata that was perfect but it was a special as well so don't go hoping for it! I will say the espresso martini was amazing as well, nice and creamy and perfectly balanced. This is the place you got for good food, amazing views, and excellent food.
I'm in the excellent experience camp of folks. We showed up with no reservation but early and got a table right on the water with spectacular views. The hostess was more than pleasant than our waiter. Although you was right on the mark, the shrimp scampi appetizer was right on point. My halibut special was super and the scallops, which is the most popular dish also lived up to expectations the wines by the glass were also on point, although not a huge selection. This is a pricey joint, but considering the quality of the food and service, I had no problem.
This review is for ROSA and ROSA only so if you are not her keep scrolling please lol. Now I was here last month this was the fancy dinner place I chose for the trip, glad I did the views the hostess the service everything 10/10. I'm an oyster girly so we started with the oysters and they were soooo good; Rosa was so helpful when it came to picking the main dishes and both her choices were good ones honestly. They had the regular menu and the chefs special menu we order both our dishes from that menu and omggggg the tuna was so flavorful with the Asian flare I loved the mushrooms. The salmon was equally good as well for drinks I had lemon drops and there was a second runner up for to the best one I've had in Miami!! For dessert got the lemon cheesecake because I love all things lemon and h that was just as delicious too. Whenever I come back to st Thomas will definitely stopping by thank you Rosa for your wonderful service and recommendations.
We were excited to dine at Oceana on the last night of our vacation and had a great meal--our server, Adam, was excellent and the food was very good. Unfortunately, the experience was completely ruined by the manager, Eva. We had our 2-year-old son with us, who was understandably tired and had a few brief moments of fussiness. Toward the end of our meal, the manager approached our table and, after saying what she was about to say was "weird," suggested we take our child somewhere else--"maybe walk him around"--because other guests were dining. We were also paying guests. We were respectful. And anyone who has children knows that toddlers aren't always perfectly quiet. The manager's comment was rude, condescending, and made us feel completely unwelcome. Families with children should think twice before coming here. Despite the good food and service from our waiter, the lack of basic hospitality from management was enough to ensure we won't be back.
Great start to the night with a pineapple margarita so good, spicy and sweet was perfect. Ordered the lobster bisque and unfortunately found out they were out after ordering it. Went with the crab cake, focaccia and garlic bread. Excellent garlic bread. I was hoping to pair that with the lobster bisque but I am over it. The focaccia is really good as well. The crab cake did work out well. The roulade was super good and the crab cake had the right amount of fry with moisture. Cara was our server and she was great. Super attentive and she specifically let us know that a gratuity was included in the check. The lobster was really good, the filet and scallops also got good comments. The mahi was on the dry side and lacked some salt. Atmosphere was excellent and seated with beach view just realize a little toasty in the summer time. Overall really good meal.
I decided to make reservations here based on recommendations of a coworker who's been here. He said the owner Patricia is great! He was right!! She's wonderful and very hospitable. This place is absolutely beautiful!! The views are magnificent! We loved the open air seating of the dining room. The evening was perfect! There's several chickens roaming the grounds of most business in St Thomas. That's also the case here. (Probably why there's no chicken entrees on the menu. LOL!) We started our evening with the garlic bread. We could smell it before it reached the table. It was excellent!! For our entrees, I ordered the ribeye and hubby ordered the filet. He switched his asparagus for mashed potatoes, which came out cool. They were quickly replaced. My medium-well ribeye came out with bloody juices on the plate, that was also quickly corrected. The food was excellent and everything was timed perfectly. Our waitress Molly was great as well. We were too full to order dessert. We would definitely return again if in the area.
We chose Oceana to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary this evening. They went out of their way to make it very special for us which was very much appreciated. We seated right next to the ocean and enjoyed a beautiful view while we were eating this evening. Our servers name was Adan and he did an absolutely amazing job. The entire facility is very romantic and definitely a place to go for a special occasion or even just to have a very nice meal. We both decided to start our meal tonight with salads and bread. Adan highly recommended the red & golden beet escabeche and I am very glad that I took his recommendation. It was the absolute perfect balance of the tartness of the whipped brie cheese, sweetness of the beets, and brought together with spring greens and pickled ginger. AMAZING flavor. For our main courses, I ordered the Caribbean lobster because they told me it was still alive in the ocean a couple hours before we sat down to eat and my wife ordered the filet. Both meals were exquisite. Her filet was cooked to perfection and the lobster was not overcooked. We finished the meal with French pressed coffee, flourless, chocolate, torte, and a trio of sorbet that is made in house. We had a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this restaurant if you decide to come to St. Thomas. This is one you should move to the top of your list. read more
This place was bombbbb. We went with a large party and the staff took such phenomenal care of our party. The restaurant is right on the water so you have a gorgeous view if you're sitting outside. For starters we ordered the tuna tartare and the ceviche. So good and so fresh. My entree, the ahi tuna, was so perfect I can't even handle it. I don't have the words to tell you how good it was. My boyfriend ordered the lobster which they were doing a special where they added mac n cheese. The mac had cavatappi pasta which is my favorite noodle but his was just good compared to the stellar entree I ordered. For dessert, again, absolute bangers. We ordered the crème brûlée which was great and the bananas foster bread pudding which was spectacular. Awesome amazing and fantastic, go here! read more

Ambiance was some of the best we could imagine. Beautiful open air restaurant nestled on a point of rocks immediately on and overlooking the ocean. Perfection. Food was great. Highly recommend the mussels and baguette for a starter. We got the yellowtail and the mix seafood grill and both were awesome. Disappointed by the hostess who walked us past 4 open oceanfront tables that were never seated in the 90min we were dining (7-830pm). We asked, but she said they were reserved for a birthday, anniversary, and another celebration, but none showed up. Feels unlikely all would cancel at the same time. Overall a great restaurant with great food. Maybe less gatekeeping on the prime tables. read more

Took a group of 17 here. The location is perfect. The restaurant is a nice atmosphere on the water with a nice ambiance. The food was delicious. Ribeye was huge. Oysters were good. All the dishes came out beautiful and delicious. Service was solid but kind of dry and focused. Not overly personal or friendly but got the job done . read more

This might be the best meal I've ever had. Started with the beet salad and then had the filet. Also had a pineapple habenero margarita. All were absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. Nothing needed salt, which is unusual in my experience. Husband got the scallops, which had a bit of a curry or cinnamon flavor, so we didn't like those as much but they also were perfectly cooked. Note that this is a truly upscale restaurant, so you will be most comfortable with men in collared shirts and ladies in dresses. They will offer still or sparkling water and either is $8 and they automatically add 20% gratuity, but the waiter points it out. This was definitely our best meal on the island so far. read more

Great food and well made drinks by Danielle the bartender! Definitely make reservations. They had a nice birthday card presented on the table. Nice touch! Fantastic view even for nighttime since it's on the water. It's locally owned so there's private property signs. Can be a little awkward to get to if you drive. We used a taxi service. Try the beet salad. I typically would not beets or order beets intentionally but based on the recommendation of server so glad we did. It was delicious and different. Texturally like crunchy but soft at the same time. The whipped feta cheese and micro greens accented the red and golden beets. I don't think I had any watermelon radishes on it but this was fantastic! Filet mignon on the island absolutely! Cuts like butter and so flavorful and well prepared. The oceana bouillabaisse was also good but rich and little heavy but the herb focaccia bread to dip in the sauce was spot on! Would come back again during the day to see the view in daylight but so glad we made it here! World class dining experience and should not be missed! read more

We went to Oceana to celebrate my 77th birthday. The weather was rainy and windy. We had the late 8:30pm reservation slot. After braving the weather and the steep steps (Historical site so no ramp) bathrooms located upstairs. We were graciously greeted by the hostess with a smile & "happy birthday Ronalyn!" It was a pleasant surprise for I didn't know her. She informed us that they were readying our table. We were seated ten minutes later. I had check the menu online and they served a veal chop which was one of two items I wanted. I questioned our server and she indicated the chef periodically changes the menu so lamb shank was added & the Veal dropped. I also ask about Sorrel Old Fashioned, she recommended , it was outstanding! I was also hoping an octopus dish would be among the appetizers but it was not. We ordered 6 fresh oysters for our appetizer, my husband ordered the Brazino whole de-bone fish (grilled w/o the head). With tostones and vegetables, I ordered the Seafood bouillabaisse . It was a long wait for the appetizer over 30minutes, our server mistakenly brought 12 oysters so awhile later we finally received our appetizer nearly an hour after ordering. Bread can only be ordered, Foacia or French with a charge$$ . The prices at Oceana are high, a supper overhead and a 20% service charge automatically included. Where we seated the rain began to come in it wet my jacket which was over the chair back. They eventually picked up on my need of their attention, and advised someone would soon come to lower the shade which protected us from the wind and drizzle ( at this point rain subsided). Our dinners came out their presentations were amazing! They were delicious! I am not a fan of Foacia bread and the bread that came with the Bouillabaisse was that . I asked our server if I could get the French bread, she advised no because the kitchen was closed. I asked for the Manager and she confirmed that it was too late; however, she later came back to say she exerted her executive privilege and if I was willing to wait awhile I could have the garlic French Bread. Of course I was willing to wait . I was pleased she went the extra "mile " to make me happy on my birthday. Especially since the service was barely mediocre up to this moment. We ordered dessert, the Grand Mariner crème brûlée, which we shared. The food was truly delicious! There was a happy Birthday Card at the table for me ; however,no complimentary gift, appetizers, dessert, drink was offered as I have experienced at other Restaurants on celebrating special occasions. If I come into a great deal of money I would return to Oceana. If you can afford it I highly recommend Oceana! read more
Thank goodness we arrived in St. Thomas early enough to snag a spectacular table at Oceana. Word on the street is that it is tough to do without a reservation. You can make them online, but we were unsure of our ferry's arrival time. Island time, after all. We were seated at a table with an amazing view of the Caribbean Sea. Sun was setting just off to the right making the water echo it's colors. Molly, our server was very attentive and helpful offering some great suggestions from the menu. Starting with a couple tasty cocktails and a buratta plate that was out of this world. A basket of garlic bread made a great accompaniment to the dish. For an entree I chose the recommended veal chop from the nights specials. My husband, a striped bass. The chop was enormous, so my husband finished it for me after devouring his meal. No dessert for us but the offerings looked great. Lots of house made ice creams and gelato. Our"dessert" was an additional beverage enjoyed in the chairs by the shore. The restaurant is appropriately priced and definitely worth the splurge! read more
We had a very large group. The restaurant was extremely hot. Food was pretty good but they were out of quite a bit which was frustrating. The best dish of the night was the bananas foster dessert which is traditionally a dish I don't even enjoy. On our way out there had been a shooting just a few doors down, not the restaurant's fault but made me wish we'd just stayed at our resort : ( read more
