Always see this place when coming to UTC so I finally stopped by. Since it is attached to the mall, you'll have to park inside the structure. Note that UTC only allows 1 free hour of parking and then charge $2 per hour after that. I put in a mobile order online and came by to pick up my food. I ordered at 3pm, got to the restaurant at 3:40, but had to wait even longer and finally got my food around 4:15. It seems like they may have forgotten or missed my order. Over an hour to get my food was way too long of a wait for online orders. Some of the food was okay but overall wasn't amazing enough to justify the wait. food ordered - chicken parm: I actually enjoyed this sandwich! large with tons of pesto and a yummy marinara dip. I wouldn't mind getting this again - side cup of lentil soup: I enjoyed this as well! packed lots of veggies and of course, lentils - chicken kabob plate: unfortunately the chicken was dry! got a side of basmati rice and mediterranean salad. both were fine but the kabob should've been the star of the show but just wasn't as enjoyable since it was dry. read more

Very poor pickup experience and even worse customer service. My order was significantly delayed, which is frustrating but not the main issue. Restaurants get busy, and delays happen. The real problem was the way I was treated when I simply asked for an update. When I politely asked one staff member about the status of my food, he just pointed at the monitor and said, "OK?" in a dismissive and aggressive tone. He did not check on the order, explain anything, apologize, or show even basic courtesy. It was rude, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. When I brought it up to the manager, she was professional and said she would address it, which I appreciated. But the staff member himself appeared to avoid the situation and showed no apology, no accountability, and no remorse. That made the experience even worse. This was not just about waiting longer than expected. This was about being treated disrespectfully for asking a reasonable question about a delayed order. Customers should not have to deal with rude, dismissive behavior just to find out where their food is. I will think twice before ordering from this location again. read more

Hands down one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten at. Yesterday I went here for an early dinner date with my wife around 3pm. This was the only thing I had eaten the entire day, since I have been fasting. I was very happy to eat food because I had been to one other Panini kebab location and they were great. I ordered two beef kebab, along with a Greek salad as a replacement for rice. Upon getting the beef kebabs. The meat was dry and the salad was overdressed to the point of almost being un edible. I started to eat the food since I was starving and did not want to wait another 30 minutes for what should've taken 10 minutes to make. I finished my meal and paid and then not even 10 minutes later I started to feel sick. I just thought since it was a lot of food maybe since I hadn't eaten all day it was from digesting every thing; but almost 3 hours later things kept getting worse, and I started to feel really really bad. I had to call off work and I went straight home. I was throwing up for almost 3 to 4 hours I didn't have it in me to call the restaurant and ask for a refund that night so I waited until the next morning. Luckily, I got a few hours of sleep while throwing up for almost the entire night. I called the restaurant around 11:30 AM. The next day the manager I spoke to was extremely inconsiderate, unhelpful, and also rude. The manager said "we follow strict procedures and guidelines so no one gets sick from the food". I later checked the reviews for this restaurant and it turns out I was not the only person that got sick from the UTC Panini kebab grill almost all of the one star reviews are from people getting food, sickness, or the food taking an extremely long amount of time I don't know why the food took almost 30 minutes to make when we were quite literally the only customers in there at this time. This restaurant deserves to be shut down and deserves no business from anyone that comes to the UTC mall, there are much better locations with sanitary and good food for at the same price. This restaurant really needs to rethink their sanitation and cooking processes because the manager consistently told me that the meat was not the issue. I told him "maybe the issue was the salad". Or maybe the "issue was the server that brought it to me". I don't know what the issue was but also I shouldn't be lectured about the entire process that it takes to get the food to me. Especially when the food was far from sanitary and even the next day I still feel sick almost 24 hours later. The managers were no help and were unable to offer me a refund on cheap food that was barely edible. If you are a manager please don't respond to this, you were unable to help over the phone so I don't want a lousy reply on yelp. Please do not eat here 2/2/26 Go to Mr Shawarma in San Marcos, Downtown or Pacific Beach. They are a real family owned business and have sanitary and quality food. read more

Had a good time trying Panini's UTC location sort of at the front of the parking garage for the mall. They have both indoor and heated outdoor seating which makes for a comfortable environment. There was no wait for a table even on a fairly busy Saturday evening at the mall, and the service was exceptional. The chicken kabob is the real winner here, tender, juicy, charbroiled to perfection. The steak was only ok, the appetizers the same. The rice served with the kabob was a little dry and if there were an area for improvement it would be there most Persian restaurants I've been to have been much better. Overall I would definitely return for the chicken kabob, probably electing for a side salad rather than the rice! read more

This was my first time visiting this location at UTC mall , and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. The kebab was extremely dry and flavorless, and even the drinking water tasted like unfiltered tap water. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, one person's food and drink did not arrive until the rest of us were already halfway through eating. What made the experience worse was that no one seemed to care or apologize for the delay or the poor quality of the food. Everyone at our table left dissatisfied. Stopped by Panini grill at UTC for a quick bite after a bit of shopping. This location has a ton more space compared to their Del Mar location but for some reason never seems as busy. The food however is top notch. I ordered a cup of their lentil soup and chicken kabob plate that came with a side of Greek salad and Basmati rice. The soup was super delicious, just a hit of lemon in it and thick and rich, full of flavor. The kabob plate was also exceptional. Unlike some Mediterranean restaurants where the kabob comes out dry, the meat here was chunky, soft and full of moisture and flavor. The side salad was equally good, though I wish it had slightly less balsamic dressing on it. Overall a great spot for a bite to eat, the portions are always generous. read more

First time ordering from Panini Kabob, happened to see it the last time I was in this shopping center. I ordered through UberEats -- DON'T order from here through a delivery service if you expect your entire order. The chicken ka-box with rice and hummus was good, the spicy hummus I added was also good. The Mediterranean salad I paid extra for was not in my order, and I ended up canceling both UberOne and the 4.9 Uber account I've had for over 10 years over the less-than-the-upcharge refund I received for the salad they missed. Located at the UTC mall, Panini Kabob Grill recently opened and mailed out some 50% coupons to residents nearby. We took the opportunity to order a lot of different things to see what would be our favorite. Appetizer Combo Platter: It's a sampler of all of their appetizers so it includes the pita bread, hummus trio, falafels, caprese, and tzatziki. If you want more pita bread, you'll have to order extra and there really isn't enough to go with all of the dips. The hummus and falafel were good and since it only comes with three falafels, I'd recommend only sharing with 3 people. Flat Iron Steak Shish Kabob: Comes with two sides and I went with the rice and salad. The grill flavor was there and made it taste better but the meat was a little dry and tough. Not something I expected considering this was a bit more expensive than the beef koobideh kababs. I thought the ground beef had more flavor and juicier. Rigatoni Rosa: The best dish we had that night. Not only was the pasta sauce creamy, but it was also very flavorful. It's a shame that there isn't any protein included but if you're willing to add like shrimp, I bet that would elevate the dish. Chicken Pesto Linguine: Pretty disappointed because of the flavorless pesto sauce and the dry chicken. Spicy Prawn Linguine: Also not that much flavor and I don't get why it's labeled as spicy. It's not spicy. But it comes with 4 large prawns that were cooked well. Steak Panini: Not sure what happened but the order was forgotten. We got this at the very end of the meal and were pretty much full already. The combination of everything sounds really good and it has a lot of potential but there was just no flavor at all. The bread itself also didn't have that crispy crunch from being grilled or toasted. So yeah, overall, not very satisfied with the meal. But I'm glad we had this opportunity to try a lot of different things for 50% off. I would be even more disappointed if I had to pay full price for this experience. read more

He checked on me multiple times, and he even brought out some pita bread and extra tzaziki for me. These are the types of little things that build a customer base for repeat business for years to come... The Khoobideh & Joojeh Kabob combination plate was phenomenal! The mix of flavors combined with the saffron-topped basmati rice and Avocado Romano salad was excellent. These guys are one of the best in town to make this dish! I want to comment on the tzatziki sauce here, because it is the most flavorful, bold, full, and remarkable tzaziki that I've ever had. Came here to visit a friend over the weekend and overall the food was phenomenal. The House Coffee came out first and had a bold bitter flavor with chocolate notes and was nice and hot. The Appetizer Combo plate came with Garbanzo Hummus, Spicy Red Bell Pepper Hummus, Edamame Hummus, Falafel, Tzatziki, Caprese, Pita Bread, and Cucumber. Overall the appetizer was very solid, the falafel came out warm and crispy, all the hummus dips and tzatziki were cool and well-seasoned, the caprese salad was fresh and slightly sweet, the pita bread was warm and soft, and the cucumber was fresh and crunchy. After the appetizer was the main course which was the Charbroiled Chicken Shish Kabob which came with grilled vegetables and a Mediterranean Greek Salad. The chicken was very tender and the vegetables were well-cooked, however I do think the chicken and vegetables could have used more salt. Service was great and everything came out in a nice and timely manner, our waiter always checked in with us to make sure our food was good. Also, the restaurant was clean and spacious. I like the lamb and chicken the most, they are so juicy and tender! The spiciness of the beef is a bit too strong for me, maybe it's more suitable for those who prefer rich flavors. In particular, the corn tortillas next to the rice have a crispy texture and are extremely delicious. The rice also has a milk flavor that can be tasted, which probably indicates that dairy products were added at the right time. It is one of the best Middle Eastern dishes I have ever eaten! Came here right when they opened on a Monday. They just opened a few weeks ago. This used to be where Great Maple was. If you want to park close to the place, park on the Genessee entrance as the location is in an odd place at the mall. It's on the Nordstrom side. We were seated right away as the place was empty being that they open at 11. It's a casual setting. It was quiet. I ordered the falafel wrap and it was delicious. Falafel wS not dry. I ordered the greek salad with my meal and it was fresh and tasty. My mom ordered the beef kebab. It was pretty good. We also ordered the hummus trio and will definitely order this again.
