    Salmon with Basmati Herb Rice
    Jay D.

My first time on a Wednesday evening, I got the salmon bowl with herbed rice to go - very delicious & nice portion size! I liked the lemony tabouli piled high on top of the rice. Very friendly service, and didn't have to wait too long, they were busy with both dine-in & take-out orders, which is always a good sign. I even went back for some baklava! I love the different options for mains on the menu - salads, bowls, entrees, wraps...thank you for a delicious dinner!

5 Stars for Marketplace Grille!!! All the skewers are so good. Highly, highly recommend the Filet Mignon Skewer.

First time trying their food and their salmon bowl was absolutely flavorful. My friend recommended it and I'm glad I went with it. The hummus and pita was delicious but I can see myself ordering this salmon bowl again if ever I'm around the area. Service was great, Jackie assisted me with my order. The weather was pleasant so sitting outside was just perfect since I also had my dog with me and Jackie was very kind enough to give a bowl of water to my dog too.

I came to Marketplace Grille today for the first time since 2019 and was so happy that it was still the amazing food I remembered. I told my co-worker that outside of my Mom's home cooked food, this is easily top 3 Mediterranean restaurants in San Diego. I highly recommend the chicken plate or bowl. They cook the chicken kabob on coals, and it's phenomenal. I would get the herb rice, and always get the side of hummus with the pita bread. It is amazing hummus. Owners and servers are nice, they've owned it forever. Great location, very quiet, lots of outdoor tables. This has quickly become my favorite lunch spot in La Jolla.

So disappointed. As you walk up, the aroma from outside immediately have your mouth watering. Inside, basic counter service, and a very basic menu that really doesn't describe everything, but you could see a gentleman cooking the fantastic, smelling meat over hot coals-off to a great start! We ordered the soup of the day, a chicken vegetable, an order of baba ganoush, a small Greek salad, and a lamb wrap. The soup was decent and tasted homemade. The baba ganoush tasted over lemony and not very smoky. Greek salad was dressed well, but missing a couple key ingredients (to me, in a greek salad, like cucumbers). The lamb wrap was blah. Not very much meat, didn't taste like lamb (or even a lamb/beef mix), nor did it have any wood fired taste. Service was friendly and its open patio seating so there were LOTS of dogs. Not against dogs, i just dont like eating w animals, and that being the only option for seating.

Chicken & Salmon combo plate with herb rice is amazing! The sides are delicious too. 10/10 recommend going here when you're in the area

Had the wahoo bowl. Herb rice and tabbouleh were good. Exciting that they grill over charcoal. Sadly the fish was really dry.

It was my first time with my family to try this place and it was outstanding experience. We ordered couple items and we shared everything. We . Hummus is taste and the beef grill is a must. Tabule was good and all other appetizers. They have nice outdoor seating, and food seemed especially flavorful in those surround. Thank you Tony for the great service. Not too many parkings.

Love love their salads and bowls, it's always so fresh and full of flavors!!! The chicken is so tender and juicy. I could eat this food everyday!

Everything was pretty good! I ordered both the filet and the sirloin skewers. Then I got the grilled potatoes, the herb rice and the veggies. The way they cook is super healthy and good! There are only some casual outdoor tables and no service so I decided to get my food to go and eat it home. Even by the time I went home it all tasted wonderful. Wish they had a better outdoor ambiance to enjoy the meals.

Chicken wrap-nothing to rave about. Picked out the chicken and pickles and threw the rest out =[

Lackluster lunch with not very friendly service. Got the chicken wrap, which I actually thought the chicken was pretty moist and flavorful but lots of iceberg lettuce and bland sauce I didn't care for. I was glad I ordered a small order of shirazi salad which came with pita because I essentially deconstructed the wrap and redid it with the shirazi salad and accompanying pita. Would've liked a garlic sauce or something to break up how bland the wrap overall tasted. The pickled veggies inside the wrap were pretty good but overall just didn't do it for me. The server was friendly but the guy at the register seemed unfriendly and dismissive when I asked for to-go containers. Wouldn't make a trip out to this place again or really stop by since there are other better places in the area to have a quick lunch.

At first glance, we knew we were in for a true authentic and great meal when we saw other Persians dining at the restaurant ;D Vibes: Namino shares a parking lot with other food establishments but on a Tuesday afternoon, we didn't have trouble finding a spot. The restaurant gives a mom and pop vibe, where they warmly welcomed us in. I loved that the lady gave us a bell to ring when we're ready to order. There were more than a handful of 4 person tables available inside. No outdoor seats. The guy who took our order and served our food was welcoming and our food came out within 10 minutes. Food: -Beef Koobideh Kabob ($15.95): skewer of suuuper flavorful beef served on a bed of saffron rice with a side salad and half a roasted tomato. I saw one of the reviews here that said to put sumac powder on the rice-- thank you for that! I asked for tzatziki sauce on the side and it paired well with the kabob. -Beef Kabob Sandwich ($11.95): my husband ordered this and he loved it as well. If we weren't in a hurry to catch a movie, I would've loved to try the baklava. Overall: A great authentic Persian restaurant located in La Jolla. You won't be disappointed!

Namino, located in the holiday court lot (next to the Whole Foods plaza) is a small space looking like an east coast diner. They have a small menu and don't mind if you help yourself to drinks and a seat. The owner literally just told me to shout out my order when I was ready. No nonsense, quick, and it worked well. No complaints there. Service 9/10 Fesenjoon: That day's special. This dish is phenomenal and a hefty portion. The stew itself was not shy at all about flavor; an appreciable sweetness and tart flavor coming from pomegranate, an earthy blend of spices (for sure can taste bag and cinnamon as well as toasted walnuts. I'm sure there's more) and the chicken is clearly well seasoned. The stew itself is not to thin or thick, resembling a texture slightly thicker than a Japanese style curry. The specials are served with a side salad and saffron rice. The salad is dressed with a yogurt based dressing. Light and refreshing. Nothing surprising. The saffron rice is lightly seasoned with saffron, mostly white rice. The big kicker here is tableside condiments include sumac, and that is a huge bonus. Pour a liberal amount in your rice and thank me later. Gotta love a Persian restaurant with sumac! Food 9/10. The tea served is a spiced black I believe. May be an acquired tasted for those used to English breakfast. I'll definitely be back. Namino is great for a quick lunch and the food is fantastic. Hopefully I'll be able to try more of the menu soon!

In San Diego, not offering tap water that is certainly drinkable is a disappointment, and charging $2 per bottle seems excessive when it certainly costs less to obtain. We opted for soft drinks ($4 each) and they were fine, except the Diet Coke was flat. The grilled meats (chicken kabob and chelo kabob barg) were clearly fresh and deliciously moist. The entrees took a bit to arrive but were clearly house-made. The fesenjoon stew had good flavors but was a bit too sweet. The tahdig was incredibly crispy, too thick to even cut with a knife. The kashkeh bademjan appetizer was good but nothing outstanding. Overall, the food is tasty, though the tahdig with fesenjoon could use a few tweaks. The prices were a bit high and dinner left more to be desired, but I am not opposed to coming back.

I ordered the beef soltani with zereshk polo for $38.36, tahdig with gheymeh for $15.60, and a small side of shallot dip for $2.08. The DoorDash menu is misleading. They should really indicate the portion sizes in ounces. The "small" was more like a sample size, about the size of a condiment container and maybe two bites at most. The flavor was not even good, so I am glad I did not order a larger portion. Overall, the food was very average. Nothing really stood out to me. The front of house seemed overwhelmed, communication was minimal, and there was little acknowledgment of the inconvenience. So for me, Sadaf is a place where the kitchen clearly outshines the service. The food was good enough that I would order again, but the pickup process needs serious improvement.
