Turkey with Genoa salami from Los Olivos
    L K.

Panino sandwich shop has really bomb flavorful sandwiches and fixings; however the one in Los Olivos is lacking in flavor, fixings, and service. The sandwich was dry without any mayo or honey mustard as the menu states, and skimpy with hardly any protein-turkey and Genoa salami. I've added the two photos of sandwiches from Santa Barbara vs. Los Olivos for reference.

If you find yourself wine-happy in Los Olivos and wondering what your taste buds are supposed to do next--Panino is the move. This spot is basically where sandwiches go to glow up and get gourmet. Yes, there might be a line. Yes, it's worth it. Because these aren't your sad desk sandwiches. These are "whoa, is this a turkey sandwich or a spiritual awakening?" kind of sandwiches. Speaking of turkey--get it. No questions asked. Juicy, flavorful, stacked like it's auditioning for a modeling gig, and just chef's kiss all around. The menu has range. From classics with a twist to creations that make you go, "who thought of this and how do I thank them?" Each bite tastes like someone actually cared, and the combos are weirdly genius in the best way. Pesto? Cranberry? Sundried tomato action? Yup. They do that. And it works. Service? Super friendly and fast even when it's slammed. You'll feel like a regular even if you're just popping in between tasting rooms, trying to sober up with style. Perfect stop for when you want something casual but elevated, filling but flirty, and delicious but not trying too hard (though let's be real, these sandwiches do slay effortlessly). Final verdict: skip the wine-dazed wanderings and go get Panino'd. Your post-merlot self will thank you.

SCW stopped into Panino Los Olivos in between wine tastings in town. It comes highly recommended on Yelp and they seemed to do tons of business. There are tables and chairs outside along the main street or you can get your order to go. We did to go. The menu is overhead by number. They also have some laminated menus off to the side that give a description of what is in each sandwich or salad. I opted for #27 and SCW got #28 I think. Ordering took a few minutes just to get to the counter with so many people in line. Once we ordered (the employee we ordered from was helpful and kind) it took less than 10 minutes to get our sandwiches. We opted to go to a park across the street to eat as it's quite loud and busy in the seating area. My sandwich which was on whole wheat sourdough bread was good but really soggy. It's not like much time passed before I ate the sandwich but it was literally wet and dripping. Minus a star for that. The veggies inside were really fresh and flavorful. I enjoyed that aspect of the sandwich but not how soggy it was. I had a bite or two of SCWs sandwich and it was really tasty. Not at all soggy. Overall I enjoyed the sandwich and glad we opted to eat at the park as it's just too busy and loud to really enjoy the meal for me in the dining space. I'd certainly come back but probably order a different sandwich.

WOW! I was blown away with how the sandwiches tasted. They were flavorful so yummy. I'm still thinking about how tasty it was and it was a few days ago when I tried Panino. The costumer service was great too. Such a cute little place. I definitely will be back to try another sandwich.

    Curried Chicken Salad

This place just slaps. I've come here for years and it's hands down one of the cutest cafes I've ever been to. So laid back, service is great, prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get, and quality of ingredients is really *chefs kiss* (but I mean I would expect nothing less). We came here today after running the Wine Country 1/2 Marathon and thinking about getting a sando at this place after was basically the only thing that got me through it . When we finally rolled up, I walked past a diner who had gotten the curried chicken salad and IMMEDIATELY pulled an audible and got one myself. I mean JUST LOOK AT IT! The curried chicken salad has the perfect blend of savory from the chicken, sweet from the apples and dried cranberries, crunch from the slivered almonds and romaine lettuce, and acidity from the creamy balsamic dressing. I also asked for the focaccia instead of the sourdough that comes with it....OH MY GOD THE FOCACCIA needs a review in ITSELF! had the PERFECT chew and yeasty flavor. 100/100 would recommend next time you visit. Thanks Panino!

Back again and so good again! Our tradition is to take out and take to a winery. Good tradition! I tried a half sandwich small salad option. My Cobb salad sandwich on sour dough was big! The Harvest salad was a good side. The sandwich was unique with a fancy ham, chicken, blue cheese, and more. My friends had good tomato mozzarella creation and others with chicken. All yum! We also got a sourdough loaf to take home! A cute and very busy shop in pretty Los Olivos. Service nice but slow with long lines. Worth the wait. And this food with a good wine tasting hits the spot. Cheers.

Phenomenal Sandwiches! You have to get the number 12 on focaccia bread. Their focaccia bread is similar to a ciabatta where is is not as heavily seasoned as a traditional focaccia and is baked in house and melts in your mouth. Great large outdoor seating area or great for calling in a Togo order. We ordered 12 sandwiches for a poolside day and it was ready in 15 minutes. They also have beer and wine and every flavor of kettle chips. The chips come in small bags or they sell family size bags which is nice for a crowd. 10/10 recommend great spot with great food and lots of options. Extremely fresh ingredients with lots of variety.

I thought only truly good BBQ was down South, but I feel great knowing I found a place in California nearby that serves a truly magnificent sandwich. Its meat is flavorful and moist, and I personally didn't need the BBQ sauce cause the meat was delicious on its own, but the BBQ sauce adds its own unique flavor, too. The other sandwiches available for them to make are your standard sandwich options. The rest of the store is a small general store with a mediocre stash of supplies you can purchase for drinking or snacking, etc. Be aware: tri-tip sandwiches are only available on weekends and Wednesdays, I believe (call to confirm about Wednesday just in case their days have changed).

I've made a point of trying a new item every day, since I work close by and I have to tell you each is quite lovely and laced with layers of spice, fresh greens (think Arugula, etc), creative Aoli sauces and other gourmet touches. I would definitely suggest their Chipotle Chicken sandwich, Tri-tip, Cobb Salad or the Patrami (think Rueben). When you arrive, head straight to the deli. Tony will great you with the biggest smile and always make you feel right at home. It was loaded with flavor from the Conservas Ortiz white tuna, boquerones, piquillo peppers, egg, arugula, and tonnato sauce. Honestly, I took one bite and completely forgot to take a proper picture. That's usually a good sign. We also tried the Kobe Sando, which was very tasty as well.
