This place is such a hidden gem--I'm so glad we found it! The sandwiches were delicious with fresh bread, and the arcade games made it even more fun. Can't wait to come back!

Small, little deli attached to an arcade. This looks like an offshoot of the restaurant across the street. I love the fresh deli meats (oxymoron?) and bread here. I got the Godfather and enjoyed the subtle hot sauce the sandwich had and the bread had great crunchiness that I really liked.

Cute little deli with high quality ingredients. We enjoyed the smoked turkey sandwich which was stuffed with delicious shaved turkey breast, smoked cheese, and a mountain of veggies. We subbed the sesame roll for the soft dutch crunch and it was sooo good. The bread is firm and crunchy on the outside without cutting up the roof of your mouth, and fluffy inside with a hint of natural sweetness. The little arcade is adorable and has a variety of pinball machines and other games. There are patio tables and chairs outside, perfect for smaller groups. I would recommend Peasants Deli for quality charcuterie items or a tasty sandwich to go!

The lady who waited on us was very nice. She gave us one turkey sandwich that was delicious, and a roast beef sandwich. That was also excellent. It is a nice place to come by and enjoy your sandwich while dining alfresco. I recommend this place. The places is really nice, and it's a great place to visit while in Solvang.

Wow! What a hidden gem that my gf and I found! We were hungry but didn't want to overfill and glad we found this deli! We picked up the Gobble Gobble and I need a Name. I need a Name; absolute beauty of a sandwich! Taste, spice, flavor, softness of roll. 10/10 keep this sandwich in rotation, give her the sexy name, and I'll see you again for sure!

Super yummy sandwiches! The seasoning on the godfather and the spread was delicious. It was exactly what I wanted for a nice filling lunch in the town. It does take a while, it seems like it's regularly busy. Sandwiches take about 30-40 minutes as they are made to order. There's an arcade to help pass time along though. We had chips and drink and the wait went pretty quickly Very quality ingredients and sandwiches!

Stopped in to Peasant's Deli and Arcade after our four hour drive from the South Bay based on its excellent Yelp reviews, and it did not disappoint. The interior is small with not a lot of indoor seating, but there are additional tables outside. We were lucky enough to score a table indoors. Here, I'd describe the decor as yummy, as the meat is on full display -- there's a large iberico ham sitting on the counter just waiting to be sliced, a display case with other salty cured meats (sopresa and coppa) in front of the counter, and red tins of Spanish tuna packed in olive oil. As promised, there really is an arcade in the side room (I love this combo!) - huge bummer for me, but my partner was not up for game time. Oh well, maybe next time. As for service, customers order at the counter and if opting to eat in, the food is delivered to your table. Everyone we encountered was perfectly friendly. The food was fabulous. My partner and mother and law went with the ham and cheese sandwich (kurobota ham, emmental cheese, pickles onion, and sesame seed-crusted French bread). They enjoyed their sandwiches so much that my partner commended me for selecting such an awesome place for lunch. Thanks, Yelp! As for me, I went with the tuna sandwich in a lettuce wrap (no bread) because I'm still on the pre-wedding diet. Nevertheless, the sandwich was awesome. It was expertly wrapped in iceberg lettuce, which really impressed me. I delighted in the combination of flavors - high quality tuna and anchovies, roasted red pepper, Tapanade, onion, arugula, and tonnato sauce to bring it all together. So yum. Yelp did not steer me wrong here -- this place was great. I would highly recommend Peasant's Deli & Arcade if you are looking for a no-frills but very tasty lunch in Solvang.

My first time here ! & I'm so happy I got to experience it before they went on summer break ! We had the chicken sandwich ! 9/10 I especially enjoyed how the pickled onions complimented it so well Their prickly pear cider was delicious! Their staff was super friendly ! We had service very fast and the place is beautiful . Made me feel like I was inside a greenhouse

    Katz's level pastrami. MUST HAVE.
    Moe R.

I am a total pastrami snob. Most of the time, I won't order pastrami because the standard deli products are just a different flavored lunch meat. Peasants Deli --makes-their-own--! So I had to try. The owner said some have compared their pastrami to Katz's in New York (which is my #1 go-to pastrami). I can see it. This pastrami is not as juicy (I would ask for a fatty cut next time) and is smokier, spices a little different. But is it as good? Pretty close!! It's quibbling between an A and an A+. This is top-grade, master's level pastrami. I want more. The rest of the sandwich and other items were great too, as is service. I'll be back.

Absolutely loved this place. They have fantastic sandwiches and House made pastrami. The arcade is well stocked with Stern pinball machines that are set up for Stern insider. Whole family had a great time. Will happily come here again.

A perfect gem in Solvang with amazing food and the cutest little store front. We are locals, but this is the first time we had stopped here mostly because solving gets so busy. We are so glad we did. The food was excellent. We got the Godfather sandwich and the Sofia Loren sandwich. Both had amazing flavor. I personally got the Sofia and the hot honey with the cheese and pesto was divine. Recommend them both.

However, the room was not ready and when asked we were told they couldn't give a time and that they'd call. They were able to take our bags while we walked around. I had to ask, it wasn't volunteered. When I overheard another customer complain that their room was not ready, they were told that check in times are not guaranteed. Anyway, back to the room. We checked back at 5:45pm and they said it was ready. No call or notification. The room was nice enough with a great view of the top of the parking structure. Also, welcoming was a sign listing the prices if you used or took anything in the room--right down to the pen and paper. The casino was smoke filled, but to be expected I suppose. There was a smallish non-smoking room in on the side. Beneficial info that would have been good to know: there are EV parking spots. Not to say there isn't any signage saying do, I just didn't notice any. If you are a hotel guest, valet is complimentary. The sign for that is in the lobby. To be seen after you've parked your car. The sports bar was probably the best feature of the casino. Customer service not so great.

The biggest downside was that it's not kid-friendly at all. I brought my daughter's swim gear thinking we'd hang out at the pool while the rest of my family went to the casino, but the pool is 21+, so that wasn't an option. The only truly kid-friendly spot was the sports bar to eat. I ended up having to get creative and let her play in the shower with her toys and bubbles. Aside from that, the staff was great. very helpful with bringing up our bags and accommodating requests like extra water and pillows. The rooms were nice and comfortable as well. I would definitely come back, but without kids next time so I can actually enjoy the pool (which looked amazing and even had a bar). One thing I did notice was the amount of security in the casino at night, it felt like there was someone at every corner. They also stop serving alcohol at 12am so that was super lame to me because once I was able to put my kids down and come play I only had time for one drink so maybe that's why they don't have a lot of stars

This year is the seventh annual Scarecrow Fest in Santa Ynez Valley. How did I just hear about this…read moreevent?? This was so much fun!! I had a few hours to kill so I wandered into Solvang to window shop. Quickly I noticed the adorable decorations and window displays. What could this be about? At one of the displays I found the information on the ballot sheet. There are over 100 businesses participating in Solvang and surrounding areas in the Santa Ynez Valley. On the ballot sheet is a map to all the participating businesses and organizations so you can be sure to not miss any. Voters can walk around (or drive for further out scarecrow locations) and enjoy all the different scarecrow and holiday displays. Voting categories include Most Danish (cuz it's Solvang after all), Best Photo Opportunity (you are encouraged to take pics with displays when possible and upload to FB or tweet them), Best Use of Business Theme, Most Humorous, Spookiest and Best Use of Recycled Materials. There was an incredible variety of displays showing different strengths, themes and artistic interpretations of Scarecrows. I felt like this was kind of a scavenger hunt as I ran through the streets trying to find all the different scarecrows. Unfortunately I didn't see too many others walking around participating, but I did notice that almost all the tourists (and some locals) were really enjoying the displays. Some of the window displays were difficult to take pictures of because of glare issues. I was in the city early in the day and not all businesses had their scarecrows out at that time, so I noticed a few extra as I was on my way out of the city. Scarecrow Fest this year goes from October 7 - November 7. Ballots need to include a name, email address and zip code for the votes to count. There are ballot boxes throughout the city to drop your completed ballots before the last day. The grand winner will be announced at the Haunted House and Street Fest on October 29th. Category winners will be announced on their website www.syvscarecrows.com at the end of the voting period. This was a ton of fun and a creative way to get visitors to explore the culture and climate of Santa Ynez Valley. I would definitely recommend checking it out, especially if you are an autumn junkie like me. This is something I will look forward to for many years to come.

We'd had one of the pinots at a fancy restaurant a few years back and knew the place had a good reputation. We also appreciated the easy walk-in situation on a Saturday afternoon. The tasting room was casual and charming, part "mercantile," selling wine, of course, and sundry gift items and home goods. There was plentiful seating, some of it at the bar and some of it in what felt like a large living room, homily decorated with lots of art on the walls. It was pretty busy while we were there, but not in the least bit crowded. We sat at the bar, which was run by an enormous former football player (if I eavesdropped correctly) and a woman from New Zealand on the verge of retirement. I'd watch that movie. We were helped by the woman, who was friendly and knowledgeable, a great guide to the house wines. The flight started with the 2025 Rosé of Mourvédre, then went to Liquid Farm's Chardonnays and Pinots. There was the 2024 White Hill Chardonnay, the 2024 Golden Slope Chardonnay, the 2023 "SBC" Pinot Noir, the 2023 Fiddlestix Pinot Noir, and the 2023 Four Pinot Noir. The wines were fantastic across the board. The tasting fee was $40, on the steep side, probably because the space invites casual drinking. It was easily waived, with one flight waived per two bottles purchased. The wines were all between $30 and $94, so this was easy math. The kind of easy math that had us leaving Los Olivos with a trunk--and back seat--full of wine. We picked up a White Hill Chardonnay, an "SBC" Pinot, and two of the Fiddlestix, a prime haul that we look forward to drinking.
