This little spot was touted by some local folks as the "Best Breakfast in town" ! We were greeted warmly as we approached the front steps by none other than our waitress from Coast Range and her family, who were having a lovely breakfast themselves ! This cozy gem has limited seating, but is clean, bright, and downright neighborly !! We felt like we've been coming for years by the way we were treated! We ordered the basics .. A bowl of Oatmeal with brown sugar for Wifey, and Classic Eggs Benedict for myself, while we split a generous plate of bacon. The oatmeal was not as creamy as expected but more "natural" as it kept a touch of graininess without detracting from its yummy sweetness. My Eggs Benedict, on the other hand, were "properly" balanced, meaning the eggs were poached with just enough firmness and thick, yolky consistency !! Loved the Hollandaise Sauce as it maintained a thick, buttery warmness with a slight tang enhancing the eggs, the juicy ham layer, and the crunchy English muffin. The home fries were crispy on the outside with a gentle moist texture on the inside and nicely seasoned with every bite ! Our bacon was hand sliced having a perfectly tender and smokey flavour throughout . My coffee cup was never empty, thanks to our attentive coffee server! Disappointing Service & Order Mix-Up Upon arrival, I asked if I could sit outside. The table I was seated at was dusty and sticky, which wasn't a great first impression. I then waited about 10 minutes before my waitress came to take my order. I ordered the corned beef hash with country potatoes, eggs over easy, sourdough toast, and a coffee. When my food arrived, I was given hash browns instead of country potatoes. I didn't notice right away as I was reading, but once I did, I let the waitress know. Before that, I had asked for mustard on the side, which took about 5 minutes to arrive--even though my table had a clear view of the kitchen. When I mentioned the incorrect potatoes, the waitress paused, said "oh yeah," and walked away without much acknowledgment or urgency. Knowing it might take a while for her to return, I asked for a coffee refill and water at the same time. Overall, there was very little check-in, and the service felt inattentive and slow. When I received the check, it appeared the item had been altered to reflect the change, but by that point, the experience had already been disappointing. I understand places can get busy, but the lack of attentiveness and follow-through made this visit frustrating. I'm not sure I would return. read more

Some locals recommended this breakfast spot in Santa ynez so I had to check it out. Upon arrival you'll find a charming old western exterior and when you go inside the cowboy theme continues. It's a hearty, no-frills restaurant filled with cowboy portraits, family photos, and regulars chatting it up. Greeted as we walked in the door by the server, we were instructed to grab any open table. Service was friendly and casual, and the food was exactly what we were looking for after a long weekend. Run, don't walk, to Longhorn as soon as you can! So good. I mean it. Very very very good food. I love the Santa Ynez valley so much and as always, thank you to Yelp for showing us this hidden WONDERFUL gem. Since I don't know Santa Ynez to well, I cannot do my GETTING HERE intro. But, Yelp has the directions spot on so get out there ASAP. Kind of a small parking lot, but no big deal. They have outside and inside seating and since it was getting hot this morning we opted for inside. It's rather small inside, but don't let that fool you. We were seated quickly and given our water and menus right away. My guest loves the hashbrowns and they had link sausage too! So, done and done we knew what at least one of us was going to order. :) The food was delivered quickly and it was hot. For some reasons, the last few restaurants I have visited lately have served us cold food. Boo. I ordered orange juice (it was fresh squeezed) and the side of biscuits and gravy. I was here Wednesday morning with my wife and I ordered a Denver omelet with fryed potatoes and biscuit and ordered a side of gravy. The omelet was excellent, each bite with cheese ham, onion and bell pepper. The potatoes were nice and hot n tasty. The biscuit was fresh and hot and the sausage gravy was excellent and hot. The mix with biscuit and gravy worked well. My wife let me have a bite of her burger melt on rye, that was great! Noticing an old West section of town from the highway,we drove around this small town and settled on the Longhorn.A quaint old building looking like it was 100 years old.Walked into a cosy cafe where you could see the whole operation (open kitchen)bussing station etc.Prompt service and a menu to suit everyone's needs..mine were pork chops and scrambled eggs.Spot on and delicious.Family run and very friendly and accommodating.Even bought one of their long sleeve shirts to remind me of a good meal.Hope I get the chance to be in this neck of the woods again.These family run places are the go to for me.If I can ignore the chains when I'm traveling,that's the way it'll be for me. read more

So happy my honey found this little coffee shop. It was kinda confusing which door to enter thru so we just opened a door, immediately we were asked "outside seating or indoor". Outside we went. I went a couple of weeks ago and they have a big sign out front open 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch, no hours on it! I have been there for breakfast quite awhile ago and it was great. But when we walked up there was a guy Stan there by the kitchen door on the outdoor deck and I heard him say unbelievable a couple of times. I walked in with my husband and I saw him in the kitchen. The waitress explained to us they were closing in 5 minutes and it was 12:45 pm. Ok one your cook is absolutely rude we had no idea they closed that early especially with that huge sign saying you serve lunch! Put some hours on it and don't advertise on it you serve lunch! An Asian woman in an old small white town with cowboys...So NOT Asian, Can you picture me in a small restuarant with old pictures of rodeo stuff on the walls and old white men in their cowboy hats. Looking for a new place for breakfast and we came along the Longhorn in Santa Ynez. The menu had a decent amount of offerings, a rib eye for breakfast and lunch caught our eye. While we don't expect a rib eye as large as you would get for dinner especially at $15.00, I do expect it to be cooked the way I requested and at least have some flavor to it even if salt and pepper is all the cook had. We asked for medium and medium rare, something that any experienced cook should be able to accomplish. We received well done and overly well done. And while I could give a by on the steak and benefit of doubt to an inexperienced cook, the instant mashed potatoes and store bought salsa was a no go. My husband asked for crispy hash browns and received so so breakfast potatoes, at least they were real potatoes. The service was good, the wait staff seemed a bit overwhelmed but they were all friendly and accommodating. At first we thought maybe we outsmarted everyone in Solvang waiting in long lines and that we found a gem, unfortunately for us this was not the case. If your starving and absolutely have to eat or pass out than maybe you can find something on their menu to ease your hunger pains, otherwise plan to arrive early to higher rated restaurants. read more
