Prior to our vacation, I signed up all three children for surf lessons ahead of time. The process…read morewas uncomplicated, my confirmation arrived via email within minutes, and all was set. The day arrived for the lesson and the kids were super eager. After meeting their instructors, we took a short walk to the beach. Everything was explained to us. We were all on the same page as far as making sure the kids understood what they're going to do, and my apprehension was put at ease. The two older kids (ages 9 and 8) were totally having the time of their lives. They rode tandem with the instructors and were surfing as if they'd been doing this forever by the end of their session. The little one (6 years old) had a little bit of a mishap. As he paddled out to ride a wave with his instructor, he wiped out - waves all over him, surfboard in the air, exactly what I had been anguishing over. My son and his instructor both recovered. The instructor tried getting him back on the board, but he wasn't having it anymore. The instructor brought him back to us to shore. We tried coaxing him back to surf, but fear already set in. Even my daughter's instructor tried getting him on the board with them, but he refused. Nevertheless, the experience was really cool. The instructors were relaxed and patient. They gave us great photo opportunities. The best part was the two older children were inspired to go out and surf some more.

Horrid customer service, they couldn't care less about their customers or business. I assume it's…read morebecause they think " Oh Well, they are tourists and likely won't return", wrong. We live here and often have visitors, we thought we found our spot to bring friends but this time we were wrong. 1. When I called, they said they were short staffed so they would only be open 11-3, totally get it. It's a small business and would love to support them but thought that was weird to preface a customer with " yeah you can rent but we are barley open today" 2. When we got there Roger seemed accommodating, we rented for 2 hours, but he asked us to return closer to 3 because he had to bring guests back to their hotel. We didn't need or want the extra hour but again obliged to help a small business we had young children with us and knew they wouldn't hold interest, plus it was pretty windy for the little dudes. 3. When my husband went to bring the items back Roger was 40 minutes late! So we waited an extra hour to turn in the rentals and then an additional 40 minutes waiting on Roger. 4. Then i realized my card was charged an extra $54.00. Attempted to communicate with the business via their 2 phone numbers and email... took a week after countless voicemails etc. 5. When i finally got a call back they said they undercharged us and fixed their mistake. Fine, understood. However, a notification would have been nice since i signed for the amount upon rental agreement. I just found this whole thing so unprofessional and disorganized. I was pretty upset we had to intention of doing business here again and sending others.

They also had the free hayride, entertainment, the pumpkin patch, sunflower patch, pony rides, and more! I love that they partner with organizations for great giveaways. My hubby won 2 RT airline tickets to anywhere Southwest flies on the mainland by winning a watermelon eating contest! Woop woop! They also had really cute staged areas for photo taking, tons of food vendors, a farmer's market, etc. You can't go wrong when there's something for everyone to do. Highly recommend checking this place out for Halloween time. Bring boots and plenty of water and sunscreen - it's hot out there, but always fun.

The decorations were cute and festive, and the staff we interacted with were all friendly and welcoming. It was definitely crowded and a bit overwhelming, so we only stayed for about an hour. It was also really hot, which made it tough for both us and our dog. We walked around, grabbed some food, checked out the sunflowers and pumpkin patch, and then stopped by the farmers market store before heading out. The store service was quick, but one moment stood out. A young boy was trying his best to help us and do the math for our items when another staff member suddenly took over and told him, "You're going to the side. You're way too slow." It felt a little uncomfortable to witness, since the boy was clearly trying his best. I understand things can get busy, but it just didn't feel right to scold him in front of customers. Despite that, the festival itself was fun, the food and produce were great, and it's always nice to see local families and pets enjoying the day. We'll probably go again, maybe earlier in the morning next time when it's less crowded and cooler.

Where the views camp-ture your heart every single time…read more We've camped at Camp Palehua several times now, and let me tell you ...the views never get old. Like, ever. Every sunset looks like it was custom-ordered, every sunrise feels cinematic, and the mountains and coastline somehow manage to outdo themselves each visit. Mother Nature really shows off up here. This place is the perfect mix of peaceful, rustic, and refreshingly unplugged ...the kind of spot where the air feels cleaner, conversations get longer, and your stress decides to hike somewhere else for a while. The grounds are well-kept, the facilities are tidy (huge camp-win), and there's plenty of space to roam, explore, and pretend you're on a wilderness adventure... even if your idea of "roughing it" still includes snacks and a cozy sleeping bag Family-friendly, quiet, and absolutely gorgeous. Camp Palehua is one of those places you keep coming back to because it just feels good to be there. Same campsite, same mountains, same sky... and somehow it's magical every single time. Bottom line: peaceful vibes, unforgettable scenery, and views so good they deserve their own camp badge. We'll be back, again and again

It's a few mile drive until we reached the camp mostly paved road. The camps buildings are all in the same general area. There are bunkhouses, a building set up like a stable with groups of bunk beds, and other cabins. There is a mess hall and building for meeting. The camp is all very rustic with built in pool to cool off in. The camp has some beautiful views from the buildings including two giant size chairs to sit in and enjoy views below. They make for a silly photo op. Looks like a fun place for children or adults who want to relive camp memories to stay at. The office staff member is friendly and helpful. We hiked the 2 mile out and back hike to the Nanakuli Lookout. It use to be a loop trail however at this time part of the trail leading to pillboxes is off limits. Which was a disappointment. However the section of the trail available to us did offer some beautiful views and partial shade.

It is such a relaxing ride along the coast as the waves crash along the shore and the breeze off the ocean keeps us cool. This place is absolutely horrible. It was a waste of my time and gas to drive all the way out…read morethere. I made a reservation online for 6 people and 6 balls to rent. I wrote in the time that I wanted to start which was 1230 pm. I show up at 1230 exactly and go to check in at the outpost Hut. The 2 guys inside the Hut tell me they didn't see my reservation and they rented out all their balls to a group that just came in..... So...we had to WAIT until the group was finished to get the balls to play.... On top of that, I paid $10 per person to play, and the guy in the hut tells me there's only 6 or 7 holes available since they use the course to pop fireworks off of. New years was about a week ago!! You're telling me, you're too lazy to put back the holes for a whole week?! Cmon man..... Then, I ask for a cart to put all our stuff in and he tells me that they don't rent out carts but that I could get one at the golf hut. So my mom walks all the way over to the golf hut for them to tell her that they don't rent out golf carts for soccer golf......?! So then after all of this, the guy in the outpost hut tells me he will refund me the balls we rented as a way to make up the unfinished course and the time we had to wait for the balls to come back. That was nice of them.....except for the fact that he didn't do it!!! He was straight up lying. Bc i kept checking my account and I didn't see no refund pending from them.... So I waited 2-3 days then I finally call them back checking up on the refund. Explain the whole thing and I'm pretty sure the guy who answered the phone was the same guy who told me he would refund it to me the day of my reservation! So he puts me on hold and tells me that a manager has to be the one to refund me. So why did that guy in the outpost hut tell me he was refunding me if he really wasn't?!?! To top it all off, the course looks like crap. And they don't even have a score card to give you. Good thing I took a picture of their somewhat course layout so I knew where the heck I was going. The course is literally just grass that is so overgrown and bumpy that you cannot even call it foot golf. Save yourself time and don't go here.

Our original plan was to take a shuttle to our hotel, and enjoy walking Waikiki beach, but good fortune brought us our own personal tour guide and chauffeur. Not only did he pick us and our luggage up from the airport, but he drove us around the island to various sites including Hanonuma Bay for a guided snorkeling excursion, the beach where the scene in "From Here to Eternity" was shot, a 'blow hole' in the lava where the pounding surf would erupt in spectacular bursts when the waves hit just right, and finally to Sandy Beach where body surfers were taking advantage of a swell which produced 10-12 foot waves! It was crazy watching people going out into the surf and ride those giant waves in. After the sun set, Nico drove us to our hotel. Throughout the tour, he shared his knowledge of the island and entertained us with personal anecdotes and historical facts. Of all the activities that we enjoyed while on Maui, our afternoon and evening with Nico was by far the highlight of our trip. When we go back, we will surely be requesting his services again. Don't miss out on this phenomenal guide's custom tours!
