One moment we will never forget was when he arranged for the pianist to play a special song for us. It was such a thoughtful gesture that it honestly brought tears to our eyes. We ordered a bottle of Chablis and his unfamiliarity with the massive wine list (not surprising given his one-month tenure) caused him to spend around 5 minutes lurking over my shoulder copying down the description-clearly in need of more training. We were traveling with friends so we like to get several things and share them around the table. He belittled our choice to share the popcorn shrimp to start (falsely) indicating that it was a tiny cup. The slightly spicy shrimp (around 10 pieces) was just what we wanted. We also ordered a large salad and three mains explaining we wished to course things out-first the shrimp, then the salad, then the mains-fairly rudimentary ask especially at this caliber of restaurant. The two glasses of champagne we ordered came right away but were very skimp pours. The shrimp also came soon. The wine took 20 minutes more! Then another 30 minutes elapsed and we insisted he go find and bring the salad-which he did-followed quickly by the mains. As for the food-large salad with grilled peaches was nice as was the "Swiss (perch) and chips". The grilled perch and ravioli were fine but not outstanding. Bottom line I had high hopes for this place given the reputation of the hotel-very very disappointing-easily one of the worst serving experiences in our years of global travel.

We're going high up to Swiss Alps on Gondola. It takes 15 minutes to climb by Tri-Cable Gondola. Views are truly stunning. Everywhere you look, gorgeous mountains with snow on tips. When you get all the way to the top of the mountain and go visit multiple places available at the mountain, be sure to bring warm clothes. It is very cold outside. Inside they keep warm. Some of Swiss menu options offered at Restaurant Crystal, À La Carte: Schweizer Käsefondue (Swiss Cheese Fondue) - CHF 28.50 Rösti Crystal (Hash browns with bacon) - CHF 26 Variation von der Lindt Schokolade (Lindt Chocolate Variation) - CHF 14 Gletscherwasser (Jungfrau Sparkling Glacier Water) Gletscher Coffee (Glacier Coffee) All these menu items I personally ate and it was magically delicious. I didn't finish all of it, because of how big the portions were. Let me say this, for stunning views as you enjoy your meal, not as expensive as you might expect. Service was exceptional and staff are friendly and more than happy to help you explain any menu items you need assistance with. As cliché as this might sound, this restaurant serves authentic Swiss cuisine. What I mean by that is that they've sourced most of their ingredients locally, including some water that's sourced right here, at this truly, breathtaking - Jungfraujoch Mountain.
