The room was clean and spacious with a beautiful view of the falls. Usually we don't like to eat at the hotels where we stay (unless we have to), but the restaurant here was top notch. Liked it so much we ate there 2 of the three nights we were in town. I had the deer both nights, absolutely scrumptious). Their pizzas seem popular, though we did not have one. Super conveniently located across the street from the train station and next to the cable car up to Murren and next to the Coop Grocery (easy to pick up snacks or a bottle of wine). Not for the faint of heart, though. Dragging our bags up the hill to the property was a job - thankfully we were up to it, but if you're booking keep your fitness level in mind (or maybe the hotel offers some sort of help? I didn't ask.) I would definitely recommend staying here. If ever back in Lauterbrunnen, I would stay again.

The shared bath and shower were tiny but you could see a waterfall out the small window... so cool! Also, the breakfast was huge and delicious. No problems at about 5-6 hotels in Zurich, Lucerne. Here, we found our bags systematically opened - an entire bottle of 100 Metformin tablets GONE (diabetes meds), and also sunglasses, a new Cashmere scarf. Very disappointed, at this breach of trust. You will spend some money staying here, but well worth it. I went to climb to the top of schlithorn and they had some spare hiking poles for us. They had a laundry deal for you and a few other amenities for you. Even better, then water is spring fed from the mountain. You really couldn't ask for anything better. It reflects culture and leadership. There's something here that feels like old-school European excellence in hospitality. Service that is confident, calm, precise, and not overly theatrical. It feels intentional. Lara at reception was excellent. Professional, efficient, and warm without being overdone. Check-in was smooth and polished, but never stiff. Chantal at concierge was exceptional. She noticed me every time I walked into the hotel. Not occasionally. Every time. She remembered what she had arranged, followed up naturally, and clearly paid attention. That level of detail is rare, even at top-tier properties. It made a difference. The service was great, the view was incredible, and the food. WOW. We had the prawns to start, and their bread was amazing. I mean this place was crazy delicious. We had a mushroom ravioli that was out of this world, and a diablo chicken. I mean all this was so delicious and just fantastic. We did have something for dessert, but I don't have the photo for it. They are open throughout the day so that was great. The cream of tomato soup and Indonesian vegetable rice were very well presented and soothing on a cold, rainy day in the mountains. Prices are exorbitant but that is expected when you are in such a remote town in Switzerland. Service was quick and friendly by Swiss standards :)
