Restaurant Crystal, À La Carte - Jungfraujoch Swiss Lunch at Swiss Alps Today, we're going to have authentic Swiss cuisine, 3,454M high (11,333FT). We're going high up to Swiss Alps on Gondola. It takes 15 minutes to climb by Tri-Cable Gondola. Views are truly stunning. Everywhere you look, gorgeous mountains with snow on tips. When you get all the way to the top of the mountain and go visit multiple places available at the mountain, be sure to bring warm clothes. It is very cold outside. Inside they keep warm. Some of Swiss menu options offered at Restaurant Crystal, À La Carte: Schweizer Käsefondue (Swiss Cheese Fondue) - CHF 28.50 Rösti Crystal (Hash browns with bacon) - CHF 26 Variation von der Lindt Schokolade (Lindt Chocolate Variation) - CHF 14 Gletscherwasser (Jungfrau Sparkling Glacier Water) Gletscher Coffee (Glacier Coffee) All these menu items I personally ate and it was magically delicious. I didn't finish all of it, because of how big the portions were. Let me say this, for stunning views as you enjoy your meal, not as expensive as you might expect. Service was exceptional and staff are friendly and more than happy to help you explain any menu items you need assistance with. As cliché as this might sound, this restaurant serves authentic Swiss cuisine. What I mean by that is that they've sourced most of their ingredients locally, including some water that's sourced right here, at this truly, breathtaking - Jungfraujoch Mountain. Racial discrimination! Be aware, Chinese visitors and travelers, one of the worker here (white guy, tall, a bit of old, white haired) are very unfriendly to Chinese or anyone with Asian appearance. When I asked where or not there are place for six people while gesturing the Chinese hand gesture for six, he, without my permission, forcibly held my hand and fingers in an attempt to 'correct' me to gesture the foreign gesture for six. When I stated this is the Chinese way for gesturing six, he said that his way is correct and I should change. Very unfriendly, do not recommend. read more

Spent the morning at Jungfraujoch and seeing the Swiss Alps, the snow, and being that high up in elevation was just breathtaking. I was very happy to say the least. It was on my husband's bucket list so I'm glad we got to cross it off. Though, we got famished after just eating chocolates at the Lindt chocolate shop, so when we waited around for Restaurant Crystal to open up around noon. We were one of the first ones seated but I was determined to get my cheese fondue, dammit! :) We got seated by the window with these amazing views of the alps and was served hot coffee and tea. I got the swiss cheese fondue to share and my daughter got the tortellini that she enjoyed, but she also got to enjoy some of the cheese fondue with us. It was served with baby onions and gherkins. We got bread and potatoes to dip in the fondue. I loved it and was very filling! They had colored pencils and coloring pages for the kids to stay occupied too, which was a nice touch. Also a reminder that it's a kid friendly place. The place is a little pricey but it's worth it and I can see why seeing how they're one of the few restaurants up on the mountains. If you already made your way to the top of the Europe, why bother eat at the food court while there's a top of the line restaurant in the station? Our waitress is super friendly and happy, she even shared the story of her US trip from maybe 20 years ago with us. We had a lovely chat during our lunch and everything tasted wonderful. Maybe not as fancy as French restaurant but it's unique and authentic Switherland flavor! Must-try! read more

What better place to have a hot cup of soup than atop a massive mountain? And boy was it good, so was the view. There are about 3? places to eat up on Jungfraugh. There's an Indian buffett and another place that I don't really remember. Restaurant Crystal was so open and beautiful and there were actually people eating there. Either the Indian restaurant was closed, or something, it seemed quite deserted. Anyway, we weren't terribly hungry but wanted to warm up a bit so the boyfriend and I ordered soups. They were SO GOOD. The potato cheese ravioli soup was so creamy and cheesy and had just the right amount of flavor and herby goodness. But there's only one ravioli, those cheaters. The lobster bisque was also delicious. It was slightly spicy, and a bit creamy too. You'd think you'd pay out the butt for this kind of view, but the price wasn't horrible. If I can remember correctly it was between 10 and 15 CHF for each. We did only order soups though, but there's complimentary bread. Wir hatten kalt und wir haben essen heiss gewollt. I spent a magical day at the Jungfrau, surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, and my delightful and delicious meal at the Restaurant Crystal added to my enjoyment of this alpine experience. The food is wonderful, the ambience is very relaxing, and the view of the glacier is something you just can't see just anywhere! As I live in Florida I especially enjoyed the pristine view of the glacier while dining. We both had the apple strudel for desert and it was excellent, I hope I get to return to the Jungfrau one day and when I do I plan on eating here again, both the food and the view are outstanding. read more

We arrived last night for dinner, but the restaurant has been closed for a while. While the hotel still exist, the restaurant does not. That said, try hotel Oberland directly across the street. They had amazing food and the fondue was fantastic. read more
