If you're searching for a Mediterranean restaurant that combines both quality food and spectacular natural landscaping to create a dining experience that's truly magical, Panorama is just that. My friend and I enjoyed a fantastic lunch at Panorama one afternoon, and were highly impressed. The views of the Mediterranean coastline were stunning, as we sat on the terrace. Every one of our senses were invigorated by the food, the drinks, and the scents drifting through the air. The restaurant is designed to be minimalistic, using the view as its sole décor. Situated in the Marina Real Juan Carlos, Panorama's floor to ceiling glass windows and open-air terrace offer the best view of the Las Arenas beach, with the water of the Mediterranean Sea and the busy marina. We started with the sashimi trilogy: tuna, salmon, and butterfish. The fish was fresh and flavorful, with each having a different taste. My friend loved the octopus over creamed potatoes and oak-smoked olive oil. The oil had a smoky, woodsy flavor which was a perfect contrast to the taste of the sea from the octopus. We shared Valencian Fideua, vermicelli with fish and seafood from Gandia. The pasta was thin and tender, while the seafood had a great taste. The portions were perfect for sharing, and we had more than enough. For dessert, my friend indulged in brownie in hot chocolate soup and vanilla bourbon ice cream. She said the vanilla was sweet and balanced with the complexity of the bourbon flavor. I savored the taste of the light crème brulee with lemon coulis and toffee ice cream, which was buttery, creamy, and the lemon flavor gave a burst of citrus freshness. This place is definitely just a good view, the problem is that most tables have 0 view of the ocean. I called ahead and asked if we would be at a table able to see the ocean. The lady said yes and then we were seated at a table with 0 view of it. The service was the worst part. Waiters forgot three of our dishes and it was impossible to get their attention. Everything took forever and just felt like no one wanted to help us. It took 20 mins to get the check. The food was just okay. It was not terrible but definitely not worth the price at all. The coolest restaurant I have been to in Spain. My friends and I went for drinks and appetizers before heading to El Coso for dinner. Truly some amazing views from their outdoor patio. A popular local surf spot sits just outside and you can watch the surfers catch some waves while you enjoy your meal. Piña Colada's were excellent. read more

Spare yourself the money and just take a picture from the pier. The food was generic and borderline disgusting. The calamari was extremely small and all that was able to be tasted was the breading. Could not taste the calamari at all. Paella is only served in portions of two, a single person can not order just beware. We ordered the lobster ravioli (where was the lobster) and penne seafood pasta. The lobster ravioli did not taste like lobster. No chunks or bits of lobster. It was served cold almost as it had been sitting forever. It was ground up seafood texture with dirty water taste. The seafood penne had the worst snails I've ever had. I took three bites and couldn't finish the rest. Just completely unappetizing. The flies buzzing around inside did not improve things. As most places do, they charge for bread. However here we were never even given bread and still were charged for 2 portions. This took more time getting this corrected. On top of bad food it took 35 minutes for the calamari and another 20 for the main course. Upon completion we sat around for 10 minutes to signal for the check. We waited another 15 to actually get the check and pay. The view was nice that's about it. Don't go. read more

The location was really the only thing going for it. The service was abysmal and the food was not good. Two members of our party wanted to order paella but we were told the whole table had to order it. We finally got them to do it for 2 of the 4 members of our party. When it came it was cold and the seafood was bad, mushy shrimp and the smallest amount of overcooked lobster you could imagine. Even the rice was not good. Another member of our part ordered steak and it was tough and full of fat and gristle. Our waiter was totally inattentive and we waited 1 hour for our food to come out. After we complained and the manager came over, he was very apologetic and gave us a bottle of champagne and a dessert to split but it was too little too late. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. The only reason I am giving it two stars is for location. Also, there was a couple who waited in line but didn't have a reservation and they turned them away and the restaurant was only about half full when we were there. They also told us we had to leave in 1 1/2 hours and they were so inefficient we couldn't have been done anywhere near 1 1/2 hours. read more

At apéro-time we have been seduced by the nice (4-star-panorama). After entering there was no reception. The servers seemed to be very busy. So we took place at one of the two free tables. The panorama was nice and interesting. The 5 servers passed several times. Then a server asked, if we would like to order and we asked for the drinking card. When we had chosen our drinks, all servers passed by again several times and our ordering signs have been neglected again and again. Finally we have been able to order and after some delay (the red champaign bottle had been empty, what we understood), we had received 3 perfect drinks. Awesome view with good food. The service can be slow during the lunch/dinner rush. This review is only for the appetizers as they are all we have eaten in all the times we have visited. My favorite appetizer is the alcachofas dishes. Really, all the appetizers are tasty and slightly high-priced. Go during the lunch hours to enjoy the quieter and sunnier experience. Panorama has excellent views and was surprisingly upscale. We visited on a hot summer afternoon, about 12:30. We arrived and were told we could not be seated because we didn't have a reservation. After promising to be prompt and to be respectful of their other reservation times, they sat us at a table with a later reservation. We were prompt in ordering and they were prompt in service. The food was very good. We had a number of entradas and one main dish to share. It was pricy, but you are paying for an upscale ambiance with a fantastic view of the beach and the Mediterranean Sea. I say it was surprising upscale because from the outside appearances, it looked like a hot dog stand. Once you approach and notice, you can tell it is an upscale restaurant. I've never eaten here but have been told by close friends that it is rather pretentious. I never come here to eat, I only come to have a nice beer or coffee on the amazing terrace with great views of the sea. It's located on a pier so you feel like you are out at sea. There really is no other place (that I have found) in Valencia with such a view. read more

The view cannot be beaten (other than being on a boat or swimming in the middle of the sea). The food is another story. It's ok, nothing special, but priced moderately considering the amazing location and design of the restaurant (all glass walls so every table has a view of the water--why else would you go there?) Eat lunch or early dinner so you see the water. No point in being there when the sun has gone down and no view. Would I go again? Yes, for the view, and order croquetas. read more

My grandfather makes a better chicken creamy rice... ordered the chicken and vegetable creamy rice and got a carrot slice, a red pepper and 2 tiny bits of chicken in an ocean of broth and rice. First off the servers did not even place the tomato that comes with the bread on our table passed by several times and did not notice us and did not take our order super rude and gave attitude then after specifically removing stuff from my order they still did not properly make it and then when asked to remake the meal another waitress came claiming that she double checked our order and we agreed to it but the order that we agreed to was not what was on our plates after taking my plate to fix the order the guy only came back with my plate same as it was and the ingredients were in small bowls on the side as if I was making my own dish and after refusing to even eat the guy said that he would make the plate again but it would take a while mind you pasta takes 10 minutes to make 10 MINUTES! Liked the view (even though we got a table indoors despite reservations; outside seating is better). However, we were a group of 6 who wanted to try out different paellas. We were told that we could only order one type for the entire table. Slightly strange because we have been to other places which allowed everyone to order their own. Appalling management. This place is merely just a beautiful location and nothing more! From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a moody waitress. I had booked this restaurant 2 months in advance for a special occasion and requested a table on the waters edge. Our table wasn't by the edge so I politely asked if they could change this as I had previously asked. She bluntly told me there were no other tables available. I asked to speak to the manager but whilst waiting for our table they moved it to the edge but shoved us right in the corner and made a point of telling me how much effort it was. Once seated the waiters and waitresses were running around like headless chickens. When they came to take our order they couldn't leave quick enough, leaving us constantly rushing to place our order before they ran off again. Starters arrived and half way through we were told our mains (paella) was ready and waiting for us on the side behind. We let them know some were still eating their starters to which they rushed off leaving it still on the side. They returned 2 minutes later saying we need to eat our mains. When we got round to our mains one of the paella's was extrememly salty. We could not eat it so we left it. When the waiter returned he asked if it was ok. We politely explained. He rushed off then returned with a plate and spoon, took some of the paella and returned it to the kitchen. The fact we didn't eat it wasn't enough. Nothing more was said by any of the staff. When the bill arrived, after being ignored for the rest of the stay from the paella incident, the paella was on the bill. We politely told the waiter we didn't think we should pay for this as we hadn't eaten it and it was not edible. Basic expectations. He rushed off and the manageress returned asking what was wrong. We again explained, with no apology just a smirk on her face she said we need to pay for it. We asked her why we would pay for something that wasn't wasn't edible and her response was, 'don't worry the police will deal with it' and walked off. A simple normal response would be to apologise and take it off the bill. After seeing her on the phone and our shock of being told she was calling the police we tried to speak to her. She was extremely unreasonable and rude and told us there was nothing wrong with the food. Clearly can't take criticism. So we waited an hour for the police but still nothing. We tried to pay the €270 bill without the €30 for the paella to which she blocked one of the party and held her back from leaving. Putting her hands on her several times. She then said 'all you people from the UK try to get a discount, there's nothing wrong with the food'. How can she think this is an acceptable way to speak to her customers, what kind of management is this? Her so called 'partner' stood behind the whole time not saying a word, even when we asked to speak to him instead as she was so obnoxious, he just stood there quiet and told us we need to deal with her. He didn't try to difuse the situation or help in anyway. More great management skills! It was clear they were all scared of this lady. Reluctantly, in the end we paid the €30 as we were tired and completely astounded by the way they dealt with such a minor situation and wanted to get out of there quickly. I don't know her name but she should be embarrassed and ashamed by her behaviour and can't believe the owners are happy with the way she runs their restaurant. Very poor customer service and am absolutely disgusted that she is able to the speak to the customers the way she does! I have no idea why this woman is still a manager, so many reviews regarding poor service. Good management would sort this clear issue and assure customer satisfaction and try to improve their ratings. Such a shame as the location is stunning and could be a great place! All this over one €30 paella!!! I never write reviews but this one is definitely worth avoiding!
