I have had mixed experiences with this place in terms of the food's quality- one thing that is consistently great is the service- there is one man in particular who is so prompt, timely, efficient, and always makes sure to keep it moving. even with so many customers, he does a great job at keeping the line down. I will say that for the amount you pay for the bagels, you would expect a certain level of quality. In the past, I have needed to ask for LIGHTLY TOASTED bagels because they have burnt them to a crisp; however, after being disappointed yet again, we have not returned recently. It is a shame because we are so close by (right in Bethpage off of Hempstead Tpke) and would go more frequently if this was not an issue. Awesome bagel spot but you have to catch them earlier as everything is fresh made everyday. There are less options later in the day and they are only open until 3 pm or so. The bagels are delicious here. They have unique flavours here like a dorito bagel as well as different flavored cream cheese as well. I've been to this location a few times now. I must say, this is now a fave spot that I can enjoy anytime of the day or week. Food: I can speak for the sandwiches, they are unique and constructed with fresh tasty ingredients (that result in a delicious flavor that you will crave in the future). I highly recommend the Mamma Mia Pizza Bagel: Chicken cutlet, melted mozzarella, roasted peppers, baby spinach, pesto mayo on a pizza bagel AND also the Angry BLT: Crispy bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, avocados, chipotle aioli, everything seeds on a toasted bagel *Both come with a side* The coffee is delicious and fresh anytime of day, and they have so many drinks to choose from. I usually go with the Hal's or Fruit Punch Snapple. Can't wait to try the Pancakes or French toast, everything looks drool-worthy. Check their full menu out! Staff: They are very helpful, and make great sandwiches. They also keep the shop very clean too (someone is always cleaning or restocking something). Nonsense 3.5 stars average. That said, I am not reviewing their regular bagels. I came here since it was one of the only bagel places in the area we were staying that both had gluten free bagels, and was open on a Monday. I got a turkey bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a gluten free everything. While that was being made and we were ordering, the bagel cook who was working at the counter asked if we had been there before (no) and who was gluten free (me) so he grabbed a GF everything and tore it in half and gave me and my wife 1/2 each. It would be an exaggeration to say there was no difference between this and a regular bagel. However, I will say if you gave me this bagel and didn't say anything, I would say it was just a slightly blander everything bagel. Not much mind you-but maybe missing some salt or sugar. I would never guess it was GF. It was such a shock. It was thick like a regular bagel with the same amount of chewiness. I've had one other GF bagels in NY and that was in the city. That one was pretty great too but it didn't have the thick soft chewy inside like this one. To be honest, it is gluten friendly, not gluten free-probably due to cross contamination. But if you're just intolerant, and not allergic, come here and be shocked by how good these are. I bought 2 extra and ate them both over the course of the next 12 hours. Be warned though-for some stupid reason, not every Pantanos sells the GF bagels. We stopped at the Freeport location on the way to the airport thinking we could get some there, buy they don't sell them. Pretty stupid-why wouldn't each location be able to make them or, at least, have some delivered from the Levittown location. read more

New place name and decor at Pantano's Doz Bagels in Levitown NY. At the same spot from previous bagel place with a few of the same pleasant workers. It's bright yellow and noticeable. There are some new varieties of bagel as the Asiago cheese bagel that I ordered. Eggs were cooked as requested, bagel fresh , tuna salad was just ok. So a lot of people start reviews by saying if I could leave less than one star I would, I'm going to change it up by saying if I could leave more than 5 stars I would. The place looks like a really cool sandwich shop with a lot of bagels and cream cheeses. So I ordered a BLT with egg salad, on an egg bagel and holy sh*t they crushed this thing. My wife got the hipster which she said was really good. We got a dorito bagel just to try it, and it was good but if I was blindfolded would have never guessed. We also had an Oreo bagel with nothing on it that came straight from the oven and my eyes rolled back in my head. The taste of Oreo was out of this world, soft on the inside crispy on the outside. I'm sad to say that I'm so glad the old place closed but this is the phoenix rising from the ashes. If you don't try this place you're doing yourself a huge disservice. Will 100% be back. read more

Was very disappointed today when I stopped by after taking my dog to the park for a walk. I was holding my dog, she never touched the floor or anything in the store. I ordered & paid and when my order was ready the server told me next time dogs aren't allowed in the store. If I would have been told that when I walked in BEFORE I ORDERED , which I should have been, I would have said I understand and walked out. I'm not saying everywhere has to be dog friendly but do it correctly. Very disappointed in this experience. Went here today for the first time since I stopped going to Bageltown years ago. The previous place went severely down hill. The bagels were usually burnt and slightly hard right from the start.
