We also ordered the chuzo desgranado poa-pao and it was delicious big enough to split with someone. We ended up taking almost half home. The sauces they had were delicious. It was hard to pick which ones we tried them all. The Rosado and the pineapple ones were my favorite. The only thing they're missing is a spicy one. This was a small restaurant about 4 tables inside BUT these are usually the best The server in the front was so sweet and we asked for pica de gallo which they didnt have but the chef was nice enough to make it on the spot for us. There aren't too many places I know of that serve Colombian areas. This place wasn't too far from my hotel room so I thought I'd give it a try. It's a relatively small place with a few tables inside to sit at. I got the arepa pao pao, which contains steak, chicken, and pork rinds. It was full of flavor, especially since it had three kinds of meat! Along with the arepa, I got the salchipapas mixto con chorizo y salchicha. It is basically a tray of fries and Colombian sausage topped with their special sauce and cheese. The salchipapas were definitely unique and I liked them. I'm noticing a theme with these Colombian Venezuelan arepa places. They love to sneak a sizeable service charge like 18% that you don't find out about if you don't ask for a receipt. The total bill is just higher for some reason and they pop out at the add gratuity screen. So it's very easy to double tip to get stiffed if you're not paying attention. Very predatory and not cool. Let's start with customer service, I'll admit, it was great and friendly. This is solely a food review. I bought a few different menu items today for the house for lunch (4 in the household) and picked up due to COVID. It felt like they just melted cheese and mixed cheap canned corn. Also weird they mixed everything already for you. I asked for just two extra sauces (mind you, these are the teacup size, not like a McDonald's sauce size, half of that to give you an idea. But it was $2.00?! Uhhh.. let's talk about a complete rip. I paid over $25 worth of food. I was so shocked I definitely did not buy it and just made my own pink sauce at home. The arepa was so thick (the breading) we ended up throwing it out The empanadas are normal, nothing out of the world at all. Under a heat lamp so don't expect anything exciting. You know, I've only left one or two reviews & usually always the type to pay rather than deal with people but the reaction as a company for extra sauce today really turned me off. I never mind paying at all, but was appalled by the price which made the reaction as the company even worse personally. McDonald's doesn't even do that. read more
