*Preface: My review is based on the fact that we went during Mother's Day and it was PACKED. This place is wild in every sense of the word. You walk in and it's just brimming with stuff ALL over the place. It's like a fever dream, but in a good way. Since we walked in it was packed and there was music which definitely set the vibe. Was a little hard to talk, but it made you want to dance the whole away through. The food is priced great and delicious. It took a little while, but completely understandable and the wait time was convenient for how packed the place was. The only reason I'm giving a four instead of a five was the service was a LITTLE slow. I understand again they were doing as good a job as possible for how packed the place was, but I had asked for water when our server took our order and I didn't get water till every single person at our table had to reask for water and I finally got some post meal. Our server was really nice, but again, took a while to get water, but we got another round of sangria and received those before the water. Authentic Colombian food for two for less than the cost of a flight to Cartagena. This place is super elaborate inside. There are a million details to look out. Cool vibe overall. The food was all great. Started with some empanadas and then had the bandeja carne as the main. This was delicious. The chicharrones were a bit tough though. The Quatro leches is amazingly good. I went to celebrate my hubby's and bff's birthday. The server, Jorge, was rude as he mentioned that he was not taking orders until the whole party was complete. We convinced him to take our order. He then proceeded to tell us that he was not going to have more than 3 different checks. We proceeded to order an appetizer and our meals. Well we got the message as he brought all the food together. JORGE never checked on us when we received our meals. Didn't offer to see if we needed a refill on our drinks. Totally spoiled the ambiance. We didn't even wait for our friends. I took my mom and family to this establishment for Mother's Day, and we had an absolute blast. We had a large party, and made sure to arrive early on a Sunday because as you can imagine it gets busy. When we parked, I was glad they had valet, which takes the guest work out of arriving and leaving so that was cool. We were at the door and sat promptly, which is also nice, and despite the crowd celebrating moms on their special day, the service did not suffer on the contrary everything from the taking of the order to the delivery to the follow up was on point . The food was amazing per usual for this location and moderately priced, considering the amount of servings and the quality that went into the ingredients . The first thing you noticed, when you walk in the wall decor in the ambience, which gives you so much to enjoy while conversing and eating . There were 'trobadores' which are pretty much entertainers that go to the table singing in a folkloric vallenato style about the folks at the table. They don't roast you, lol don't worry. But it was the highlight of the meal and definitely added to the authenticity and experience at the restaurant. Anyone who has traveled to Colombia knows that these folks live to liven a party. Everyone looked happy and relaxed. Some customers stood up and danced. What a lively and fun atmosphere! I took so many photos inside and outside the restaurant. However, Yelp only allows 10 to be posted. The moment you arrive, you'll see colors and details that make this place unique. The traditional look and the unique pieces they have on display make this restaurant a standout. I got busy taking in all the details from the ceilings to the leather chairs and all the things that reflect their culture and traditions. Truly remarkable! The service is fantastic. They're very helpful with recommendations and are patient and very friendly. Hats off to these guys! I loved the cocktails which came beautifully made and tasted strong, tasty and refreshing. The fish stew was absolutely delicious and so was the everything in the huge plate of pork, sausage, plantains and potatoes. We couldn't finish the bandeja, it's too big so we had to get it to go. If you are looking for an authentic Colombian restaurant that aren't penny pinchers, avoid this place! All they care about is taking your money. They had a show two hours after we arrived for dinner, and they forced us pay for valet just to park in front of the door (picture attached) because of a "show" they were having, but we arrived and left before the show started. I was disappointed with the food here. It really didn't stand out compared to other Colombian restaurants I have tried. The two bandeja pueblitos came with cold rice and beans. The pargo had good seasoning and the margarita i had was decent too. The ambiance was really cool, they have a dance floor and decorations from roof to floor! Makes for a good happy hour and pics. Have been wanting to try out this place for years and had always heard great things about it. Craving some Colombian food, we took the leap and tried it. Valet - Yes, it's a $6 charge but we arrived when it opened so the fee was waved since the lot was empty. I can understand the charge. The server, Veronica, was attentive; but, once she realized that we were not consuming alcohol and not spending as much as she wanted to merit a sizable tip, the service went south. Didn't check back on our table's needs, asking if we wanted anything else was not existent, etc. but she did draw a big circle around the tip area on our bill. Food - Good but I've had better Colombia food. *Ordered: Empanada de carne - Over fried and meat was almost none. *Arepa con chicharrón - The pork belly rind was nicely fried, flavorful and delicious. The arepas were also fried and paired perfectly with the house chimichurri sauces. * Bandeja Pueblito - the red beans were flavorful but on the watery side, rice wasn't plentiful but it paired well with the 1-egg served. Our first time here and we weren't disappointed. The service was great. The decor is very festive and there isn't a spot left on the ceiling for more. There was a live band and they were spectacular! Every song they sang was epic. The food and drinks were on the pricey side and that's the only reason I gave 4 stars. Please if you are reading this considered your self warned. Do not come to this place if you are looking for an authentic Colombian fare. This place reminded me of the little red riding hood. It starts from where you first drive in. they barricade you, not kidding and tell you that they have a mandatory valet parking. When is just a parking lot 5feet away from the main side entrance. It was $6 which ended being (10$) with tip. The valet guys rudely told me that if I didn't like I could park somewhere else but ran the risk of being towed. Alittle voice in my head told me he was going to call the towing truck him self so we soon surrender our vehicle. it was a bad first impression right from the start. I should taken that as a sign. But hey I warned you twice now, so if you have read this far may be you should head back to a real Colombian restaurant. Ok. I'll skip alittle of this first impression experience and jump to the end of it. To make matters worse when you exit the restaurant, they don't get the car for you.
